First, much thanks to Csspecs.com for bringing this to market.
Shipping was super quick and reasonably priced.
When one buys the first batch there is an chance of minor issues.
So was the case here.
I bought 2 normal and 2 blemished. I probably should have bought all blems and saved a few bucks because the overall quality of the magazine is excellent and all but one of the blemished needed to be fitted. They had warned that fitting might need to be done as with some of the other magazines that they sell.

I have no idea how precise these M77's were made so it may just be a part of owning one.
The issue that I had was that the magazine catch would not fully engage. The instructions for fitting this were excellent and it did not take long to get them all tip-top.

The only real complaint I have is that none of magazines would feed any type of soft point.(they work fine in the factory magazine) FMJ and hollow points worked great. Great job folks. If I decide to hunt with this and want to use Power Points I will go with factory magazine.

One bonus. The fitting directions helped me to also tweak the M1A retrofit magazine that I made and it now works a little bit better. (more field tests will be required before I would trust it for serious work.

Bottom line for me.
I love my M77PS. If CAI is not going to continue to import these, maybe someone else will pick it up. It is a great shooter, much easier on my old body than my Scout Squad was. It is easy to maintain and now has a much better magazine solution available. Next?
I wonder how hard it would be to marry a Csspecs magazine shell to an M1A 50 round drum? Hmmmmmmmmmm.:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::D:

Here is my fitting fix. The wedge that holds the magazine catch has a tiny shelf on it with the factory magazine that isn't quite there with the new mag. A several strokes with a sharp file edge and now it works great.

Regarding feeding soft points I find that is more barrel than magazine.
Is your barrel ramped?

Also are you having issue hand cycling or actually on the range firing soft points?

Lastly which soft points? I noticed a significant different in overall lenth between PPU soft point 7.62x51 and all other factory 7.62x51 ammo. PPU has a significantly shorter OAL.

It was a mixed bag but mostly Winchester Power Point 150 gr. These work without issue in the factory magazine. I suspect the difference is in the follower as there seems to be a slightly different angle, although, there is a slightly different cant to the magazine also.

I will have to try the PPU. I love PPU ammo but have had issues with their SP in 7.62x39.

I was thinking it was PPU giving you problems. PPU seems too short for my guns.
