except that if they changed the past, most likely humans would not exist in the future. its the time travel paradox. you changed the past - the future changes - you most likely don't exist (if the change is far back enough, humans most likely won't exist). lol. still looks like an interesting series though =D

 

Alternately, their timeline diverged from ours at the moment of their arrival in the past. In that case, their traveling forward in time wouldn't land them back where they started. I hope the colonists brought heavy firepower (HMG, mortars & autocannon) to defend themselves.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for the series.

 

Looks like a fun Show, regardless of the Time Travel Paradox Paradox.

What I want to know is; if they are smart enough to build a time machine and travel to the past, why did they go back to a time before an ELE asteroid hits and wipes out nearly everything larger than a groundhog that's not living in water?

The ELE was 65 MYA, so they shouldn't have any problems with that. As to why 85 MYA? Maybe their time machine has a fixed focus. Or it could be that it was chosen (partly as plot device) because flowering plants and bees were becoming common in that timeframe. Or it could be an excuse to keep some of the more ornery (and big) theropods and ceratopsians out of the settlement without resorting to heavy machineguns or autocannon (sauropods could still remain a problem). I wonder if we'll see any feathered dino's (theropods mostly)?

upon watching the trailer again, i wonder if they are going to try and go with a jurassic park style theme for the show. everything starts nice and wonderful then descends into chaos and the whole place abandoned in the end. lol.

 

Do Dinosaurs really tase like chicken, or is that simply the flavor the Matrix assigned to it?

 

I'm guessing they taste a lot like gator if they are Rexes or other dead meat eaters. If that is so, then I bet they made a GREAT sausage with a little cajun spice.

Anybody else watch last night? I thought it was pretty good. Pretty girls, jail breaks, dinosaurs, jackbooted thugs,,,lots of good directions this could go.

i watched it last night. i was a little disappointed. it DID have pretty girls, though. i guess i am a little spoiled from my last favorite fiction show. lost. it started out really good, and really fast. but as the series progressed it really started sucking eggs. maybe terra nova will be the reverse. it doesnt suck eggs, but hopefully it will improve as it goes on.

 

I saw it; I would say its fair.
They could (but won't) make it great.
Expect it to degenerate rapidly and get canceled due to cost...

So did they have a choice in which point in time to travel? If so, it would've been much smarter to choose a time that didn't involve giant animals that could eat them all in no time.

 

No...they had discovered a "rift" in the space-time continuum... the "PTBs" sent a probe through that sent back the coordinates, so that's where they ended up. They weren't able to "choose" a time. Kind of a "Beggars can't be choosers" thing.

 

I liked the pilot a lot. Will enjoy watching this series.

 

Watched it last night.

The show might have legs. Even kept my wife watching for two hours. Will wait to pass judgement till after episode 3.

 

For anyone who missed it (like me fer instance) it's on again Saturday at 7 Central.

 

I like it. Plan on buying it when it cones out on DVD. Unless it gets stupid.

 

I liked it. The chemistry between the actors needs a little work/time. I like the survivalism aspect of the show. When the main guy stated that he arrived 180 days early I was hoping for some flashbacks of dinosuar survivor man.
