Hey everyone idk how many of you ride street bikes but I have a ninja 636 and go for extremely long rides (6-12 hours) thru rural/desolate northern Nevada. So being the prepper that I am I made a three part kit in my backpack and just wanted to share so that I may inspire others to do so and even to gather some more ideas!
Image

This is my normal everyday riding backpack it's by dakine and has served me well! It cost me $50 at scheels.
Image

The first pocket is built like a cooler it works pretty well I ussually throw a couple of uncrustibles (frozen pbj yum!) in there and they stay fresh till I get to them!
Image

Next up is the middle compartment in here I have: bandage, pen, fire striker, flash light, mini first aid kit, lens cleaner and cloth,an old credit card with two feet of duct tape wraped around it, paper, two 5 hour energies, and mini off spray can.
Image

Inside the middle compartment there is a zipper compartment where I stow 6 fire sticks, a space blanket 1 bag of water and one bag of Gatorade, two glow sticks, and an emergency whistle.
Image

In the upper part of the bag there is a small compartment where I stash my cologne (incase I encounter any female spiecies while city dwelling ;).) a pair of bino's, and a lint roller. Also not pictured I usually keep a pack of gum in here.
Image

Next the main compartment I keep the other two parts of my kit. In here I keep my first aid kit which is a camera bag (case logic $20 @walmart)
And a fanny pack/food bag (the north face $30@ sports athourity) and two large hand warmers!
Image

If I'm just staying in the city I usually leave my food bag at home and I have plenty of room for things like my books, gym cloths, nook, iPad, laptop, change of clothes (incase I succeed with the female species ;-D) abd anything else you can imagine!

Image

First aid kit I have too much to list but I'll try: in here I have several bandages, several different size/types of baindaids, 50 acetaminophen, three insta-ice packs, dozens of individual eye drops, dayquil, cold pills, antihistamines, bennedryl, antacids, stomach pills, hand sanitizer, neosporin spray, insect sting/bite ointment, swabs, baby wipes, tweezers, scissors, sun block, chap stick, Kleenex pack, floss pics, cotton, mirror. And I'm sure I'm forgetting something but that's just off the top of my head!

And I never leave the house with out my cc sr9c which I keep in my itw holster :)

I also always travel with two 20oz water bottles that go perfectly in the exterior side pockets.
I have a tool kit under my passenger seat.
I'm also planning on adding some tiny bottles of rum, also I've been thinking
about some how some way of carrying like a quarter galling of gas maybe in some sort of rienforced Mylar bag or something under my passenger seat.. Idk how I'm going to do it but I'll find a way! Thanks for looking I appreciate any feed back, suggestions, comments anything!?

Don't you just love the SR9? I've got the full size and it's a great gun to shoot. Accurate, never had a shell not eject or get hung up or anything. I put a few hundred rounds through it, clean it and do it all over again. Can't say enough good things about the Ruger SR9. Now they make the series in a 40 cal.

Looks like a nice kit by the way...Sorry I got excited when I saw the Ruger...LOL

I love your setup. You did a excellent job on the backpack. You have good taste to. The Ruger SR-9 is my favorite pistol and I have more expensive 9mm. I like this gun more than my 2 Smith and Wesson MP-9 9MM.You get 2 17 shot magazines on top of it. I have 12 9mm pistols. The Ruger SR-9 is hard to beat.Mine keeps on kicking ass on the range.

I ride a Gold Wing Trike but my sport bike is a custom VTX1800. I poured lots of money in changing this bike.I get both worlds with the VTX 1800. The bike is fast enough for me. I'm over 50 but haven't grown up yet. I had a RC51 a few years back.I be dead by now if I had kept it.

I installed hard bags and a back rack on my sport bike.I just strap a small cooler on the back.My gold wing trike has a large trunk. I built a bike trailer to carry my two motorcycles with a drive up ramp.I built is to go to bike week in Florida. Now its my survival trailer.

Great pics and thanks for sharing!

My only concern, have you tried your "one bag of Gatorade"? IMO those bags are pretty terrible. But if you like it, good for you! I still have to have the bottles of water with the packets of crystal light or whatever for extra flavor. Although I do drink 90% water in my diet currently, so it's not a big deal for me regardless.

Thanks for the post, I have an old Honda (1984 VT700C Shadow) and I just finished fabricating a mount so I can put my Condor 3 day pack on the bike. I plan on doing some camping motorcycle style this summer, and this gives me some ideas. When I get it all sorted out maybe I will post some pictures. ;)

Looks good...I also ride. Street bike is a 08 Busa and I race a GSXR1K...among the other 11 bikes in my garage..lol.

I've found over the years of riding to carry zip ties, tire repair kit and a small tool kit. Duct tape is another good one but I see you have it in there already.

Be safe and keep the rubber side down ;)

The key to a good survival bike is, "How quiet is it?" If your bike is too loud, it'll draw attention to you and your location. Now, go test your bikes for loudness and think ahead of trouble. Will your bike draw attention to you? Is there some sort of way to very quietly operate your bike? If so, what tips can you give us which will help us who own bikes?

Oh no this is not a survival bike by any means! This is purely and simply a toy! I have tge loudest pipes money can buy on this so everyone in a four wheel death machine can hear me and know where I'm at!

If I were to choose a survival bike I would go with those BMWs they rode around the world.

I made this pack in case I crash, break down, run out of fuel, or anyother emergency that comes up!

One of the saddlebags on my bike is my dedicated "emergency" kit. In it, I keep:

Tire repair kit, consisting of patch material, "slime", and air compressor that runs of the battery (I have a 12v "outlet" on my bike) all in a zippered case

3600 calorie Mainstay ration package

20 oz water bottle (and water purification tablets)

50 ft. length of Paracord

AA size "gooseneck" flashlight

Emergency "blanket" and poncho

Tool kit (including spare fuses)

Esbit stove and fuel tabs, plus firestarting supplies

First aid kit

Shelter kit with tarp, rope, and tent pegs

I also have a "trunk" on my bike, and besides my registration/insurance cards, I keep a map, pen, writing materials, extra gloves (so I have both warm and cold weather gloves) in there.

If we're going out for more than a short ride, I usually throw a couple extra water bottles and some jerky in the other saddle bag, as well.

As mentioned a tire repair/inflation kit and some minimal tools would be a good idea.
Also I'd ditch the ITWB holster and look at other carry options for on the bike. If you are unfortunate enough to have a get-off, a chunk of hardware like that inside the waistband is going to leave a hell of a mark. Been there done that! Now I ride with empty pockets/waistband... ;)
