Are there any all natural alternatives for douching? If I were in the wilderness for an extended period of time would it be safe to use water? Or something else?
The dangers of douching are threefold. First of all, douching can cause irritation and inflammation of vaginal tissues, which make it easier for STDs and HIV to set up shop in our bodies. Secondly, douching can actually cause an infection by disrupting the natural balance of bacteria and yeast in the vagina. [...] Thirdly, douching can complicate an existing infection, perhaps even to the point of serious health risk.

It alters the ph of the vaginal canal (which is a delicate mucus membrane), paves the way for yeast infections, bacterial infections, etc and makes a woman more apt to catch STDs during sex
