What other country has the logistics to transport enough people and equipment to invade us?

 

China, Russia, North Korea. These three alone could invade us. If they all ally up to take down North America this would be a huge problem. Espically with our force spread so thin as they are right now.

Almost sure we can't stay out of it, but that don't mean we'll get invaded. WWIII will probably go nuke, so there may not be much invading... unless it's us going after the oil.

I'm planning on waiting it out at home. Old, and half crippled, I ain't going out looking for trouble. I'm retired and just looking to keep my family safe. I'm sure militias will spring up here and there. I am a combat vet, so if asked, yeah, I'll help... best I can, but only on a local team. Most Americans I think will protect their own area.

I don't worry about any foreign invasion, way too many armed people in America... but I do worry about infighting between us here at home. (not my local area, in general, in major cities, power struggle within the gov...)

Now for the second part. I don't think WW3 will involve too many nuclear attacks if at all. It is not in the aggressing county's best interest to blow up the world or make it uninhabitable for the next 1000 years.

I think other countries are more worried about the US invading them. They might hit us with a nuke but not invade. If there is one thing America is unmatchable at it is killing its enemy. Insurgents hit us because we dont know who the enemy is but I soon as an uniformed force shows up we can kill it. Iraq is a good example, 4th largest army in the world and highly skilled and mechanized. We moved supplies half way around the world and rolled over them in about a week. Yea we got other countries involved to make it seem like a nato thing but face it, US did that. In the end we would have won with 1/10th of the forces we brought to bare. Had the republican guard dropped the uniforms and hit us with IEDs then we would have had a much harder time.

Seriously, people need to stop thinking Red Dawn is anything more than a movie. This whole "What if America were INVADED???" question is up there with "What if Yogi Bear and the Easter Bunny came to life, went to live on the Moon, and had a same sex marriage there officiated by the Pope?". Actually, the latter might be more possible... You can't invade a nuclear power, one nuclear device on a missile would turn the largest, most awesome invasion force in history into dust in seconds.

You hit the nail on the head right there!!! No one wants to invade us, Americans are too hard headed and high strung to be of use to another other country. They only want our lifestyle and money.

Really? Seriously? Why would anyone who even had such concerns feel like detailing "suggestions and ideas" in public. You've posited a troll-like series of questions. Questions that might be posted by someone who has a data-mining, web site surveillance, internet monitoring job.

 

I do agree that with tech today the chances of a ground invasion where any of us could actually fight back are slim to none. It would be long range missiles and nukes and there would be nothing we could do as survivalists except to try and survive and stay away from potential targets and large cities. Atleast thats how i see it.

I am simply putting a scenario up that could happen that what this site is about from my understanding. To the rest of you who think America is untouchable think again. Look at history.

I'm doubtful that the US is gonna get invaded all "Red Dawn" style, as we have strong international positioning and the strongest military on the face of the earth by several magnitudes. Even a US "in decline" will continue to be hugely powered for the next 50 or so years by international standards.
That said, the likelihood of WWIII taking place in a third country or countries is fair but not extremely high. In all likelihood, we're gonna sit war out for a little while, unless we get antsy and try to topple North Korea, which I think COULD go nuclear, but probably won't. The smart money is on smart warfare and pinpoint missile strikes, and the US ignoring bad human rights abuse and too many boots on the ground.

 

Every suggestions and idea needs to be explained.

I can’t give dates and time I don’t have a crystal ball but here is how I think it will go.
We owe china and other countries a large debt that they could call in at any time. This would cause our country economical collapse and make for civil unrest. Our government would we tied up with what should we do to keep china at bay and dealing with civil unrest and martial law to quell it their minds may not be focusing on the what is next to happen. China then quickly realizing we will never be able to pay them back will let their attack dog North Korea off the leash backed with Chinese weapons and tech they will attack America most likely unsuccessfully. This would most likely involve suit case nukes and large scale emp devices being detonate in strategic locations crippling our defense with early warning detections systems. At this point America has caught on to the fact our country is under attack and tries to activate (let’s call it) operation Spoil Sport and launches all its available nukes at North Korea and China. North Korea is leveled before they can even get the majority of the invasion force off the ground China shoots down most or all of our incoming nukes and talks to Russia and convinces them that America is at war with communism again or something and the three of them, what’s left of North Korea, and all of China will launch a full scale sea and air invasion on north America while Russia and other fractions stirs the **** in Europe with nato and their allies to keep them busy, we are left with only Canada and Mexico to help us and I doubt we can count on help from Mexico for the fact we have a pretty much bad history with them. Next they will soften us with off shore artillery/ordinance and bombard us with air strikes. We will get as many fighters off the ground as we can but we will be at a loss. Once our military is crippled they will start putting track tires and boots on the ground. They will also be dropping infantry and light armor from the air. Now it is a struggle to save out Great Nation and we must unite and stand as one with what we have left. The question is what your plans to prepare for this are.

I'm all about being paranoid, but you're super high if you think our biggest trading partner is going to sic a starving nation on us (which could be defeated easily by the ROK and Japan), and the riches of the Chinese are closely tied to our own wealth. If our currency collapsed, they would not exactly be throwing invasions.

 

Why do you say I am high? I know china is our biggest trading partner! But what happens when we have nothing left to trade or they want to expand their territory. Also you are right North Korea is starving which make them very dangerous. Promise the poor that they will be rewarded if they fight for the father land add to that training weapons and tech and means and you have your problem right their. BTW I just remember the ban on Japan being able to have a offensive army was lifted so maybe that would help. But what you said about china wealth being tied in with ours, maybe they are secretly buying america to take us over. Use our own military against us? I doubt that would happen seeing as most the troops believe in what they are fighting for and are defending our country. That though of them secretly buying makes it that much more true.

Not much chance we're going to stop burning your backside with caustic comments, I'm afraid. You're proposing a scenario that makes no sense, dismissing those telling you that logistically, militarily, economically, and politically it makes no sense, and trying to justify the scenario with a stream of "Well, what if..."s that even the most fanciful, unrealistic kindergartener would find hard to countenance. Now, if you put forward ideas like "What if China winds up owning a significant portion of America's business and assets" or "What if North Korea, going down for the last time, attacks South Korea, Japan, China, or any or all of the above and causes a global economic collapse?' or "What if little green men from Mars bring the dead back to life and we're faced with a simultaneous alien invasion / Zombie Apocalypse?"... THOSE might merit serious discussion, or at least more serious than you're suggesting. If you want to set up a wargame of a Chinese invasion, like NATO used to do for a Soviet invasion of western Europe when everyone knew nukes made such an idea ridiculous, go ahead. But if you're serious about your original proposal, perhaps you need to become more acquainted with reality...

Well I would either be delusional or have been transported to Bizarro world. So I would pop a beer and hit the back porch.

You who think the US can't get hit are seriously mistaken. We are not invulnerable to attack, and we have more than enough enemies that are happy to try it.

One of the biggest things to remember is, Even though we are a nuclear super power, and we could blow the world up a million times over, we are in the vast minority. There are way more of them than there are of us.

Let's just suppose that China and Russia aligned and got a few stooges like Iran and N. Korea to run their front lines.

It would be something simple like this

1) destroy our global economy (not difficult if a few big players like that are part of the destruction)

2) Then start a "fight" in the mid east. Lets say Iran attacks Israel and they use some really nasty stuff to do it. Like bio weapons. Guess who comes running to their aid. Us... Draw out a real nice war and really get us mobilized over there.

3) EMP the north american continent. Take out the US, And parts of Canada, and Mexico.

4) Then wait a few weeks for us to break down into chaos, and martial law will take over, and our troops will be forced to back out of the war in the east and try to put back the pieces and get order returned. Then China and Russia can vow to help us and bring in aid.

5) Make the first wave seem like its all humanitarian aid. Lots and lots of russian and chinese food, medicine, etc... all doled out by those who bring it. The second wave will be more supplies and caches for the chinese and russian "workers". Some of that will be left private for them, and we won't question it because they are coming to our aid.

6) The third wave will look like yet another humanitarian convoy, but indeed it will be massive amounts of front line troops. The slow supply ships will be followed by war ships, Carriers, bombers, fighters etc.

True WWIII will be in short order and we will be virtually defenseless. We won't nuke ourselves and by the time the jig is up, will it be worth it for us to try to use what little remaining hardened silos to send out nukes to destroy russia and china??? Or will that have preempted all of this and created their own "plutonium dome" to shoot down the nukes we manage to fire off?

Long story short, we are not invulnerable to attack... We all know what happens to the bullies in the story. Yes he is stronger than everyone else, and no one like him. It just takes the group to realize they have strength in numbers and they simply have to unite against the bully. Let's not become the bully, otherwise the world will turn on us.

Yes, I have a plan for an invasion type scenario, but it is way to long to make it as detailed as the OP wants. I will try to highlight it a bit in my next post.

 

If we ever get invaded here is my groups basic beginning plan.

1) Meet up at our predestined location. Its an old building designed in the 1800's out of concrete. The building is large ~40ksqft. It's completely made from concrete even the roof and could withstand some pretty serious attacks. It is 4 stories high and includes a basement with working boiler system. Has many vantage points and sits upon a hill.

There is a nice size secondary building that will work as an LP.OP and will house cows, pigs, and chickens.

It is located in the middle of the woods and opens up to very large open fields surrounding the building. There is only one way in, albeit a paved road leading in. However, if you don't know the area, it just looks like it leads to a park. A side road detours you back to the building.

This building is easily defensible, and we have several fall back locations spread out in thousands of acres of woodlands.

Our group consists of ~25 people, but we have agreed that in this scenario we would include a few others that are capable bodied, but not really preparedness minded. The key to adding the people would be to contact them before the scenario goes full fledged, or be able to pick them up along the way. It's definitely a kink in the plan, but one that I think the situation would iron out. Those on the list are capable friends and family that aren't in the group not because they can't be trusted, but simply because they have not shown any interest in being prepared for disaster. Some even have various military backgrounds...

Our groups food stocks would be strained, but hopefully during the evac, there will at least be some more canned goods to stretch out the staples.

I have no intentions of being overly heroic like in movies like red dawn. We don't plan to fight a war against them. But we would definitely do our part to take out local combatants with as much stealth as possible. Drawing attention to ourselves even though well fortified would ultimately end badly. Sure we can defend against most attacks, but a bomb or two dropped directly on the building would definitely ruin our day. And no, we don't have any anti-aircraft weapons that I know of. :thumb:

It would be great to be able to open this up to help others, possibly even create our own militia type combative force. This would however, be quite the feat, and we would not be prepared to just take in every tom richard and harry that wanders in. We would have to have something that could support a group larger than our own. But, hard times call for drastic measures. If it comes down to fighting for our country, we will!

There is a very long and detailed plan with alterations for variations... but, it is what it is. hopefully we'll never have to enact any of our plans or use any of our preps.

 

We will not be invaded as we are now. Too much ocean, we have too much navy patrolling the seas. Our enemies are using the economy to take us down. I think weak opponents like Al Qaeda have learned that using fear and messing with our way of life and economy works against us. 911 changed our way of life forever in our country. The terrorists won this battle. Uncertainty also messes with our economy.

China is using our economy to get over on us. Sooner or later they're going to demand payment for the debts we owe them and the only options we have are war, giving up our gold as a settlement, or giving our ports as a settlement.

Japan may be much more forgiving than China, but that's no guarantee.
