Who is YOUR most admired American?

I have mine ... but most are dead. James Burns, Ronald Reagan, George Washington and that crowd of revolutionaries he ran around with. Also Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, my Grandfather and one or two others.

Some are still alive ... my Mom, my Dad, my wife. An old Battalion Commander of mine, and an old CSM of mine.

But you know what? I got to thinking about it. Who do we really have to admire these days, someone who is living? Is there anyone worthy?

I mean who is that one living person who really stands out these days as someone you really admire? Someone worth emulating? Someone who stands for what you stand for or what you might aspire to be(come)?

You may vote more than once or not at all. Your vote is private - I chose the "keep it private" option. :)

I'm really interested. Who do we have to look up to these days out there? What great living American is out there ...

Gotta go with Reagan, General Patton, General Lee, Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph,

My uncle Howard ( my hero when I was a kid)

A Marine Nurse that tolerated me when i came back from the Nam.... toughest and yet the kindest, wisest woman I had ever known to that point.... and we have remained friends for all these years...

and of course my lady here at home... tough and yet so gentle when she needs to be...

and of course.... Alfred E. Neuman (what? Me Worry?)

My Grandfather.

I lived with this WWII vet that had served in pattons 3 army. He received 9 battle stars.
He taught me everything I know about prepping, garding, hunting, shooting, fishing and living life. At 92 he still is teaching and I am lissioning more then ever.

Right now I am learning 85% of what ppl tell you is bull s**t and the rest they just don't know what they are talking about.

Thanks Grandpa. Your still My Hero at 43yrs old.

Ron Paul is number one and after living in New Jersey for years and watching one governor after another let the people who voted for him down, I have to say that Chris Christie is a breath of fresh air. I don't agree with everything he does but he thinks outside of the box and is making an effort which I can't say for his predecessors.

I know ... we all loved Ronnie - he was the man no doubt about it. I loved him too.

But the question is, "What living American ...," ladies and gentlemen. :)

I'm beginning to worry about some of you. ;) Attention to detail. Attention to detail. We survivalists are supposed to be experts at paying attention to detail. :)

It's the "living" part that makes it tough ... hard to do. Ron Paul huh? Interesting. Hadn't thought of him until just now - thanks. Who is the living person ... who are some more? Athletes? Politicians? Leaders? Americans only please - U.S. citizens to be exact.

Ronald Wilson Reagan. In high School and College he worked summers as a Lifeguard. Had 77 saves.

Living, Calvin Linde. My old High School Football Coach. The first man who taught me the team was more important than the individual. And the last man I ever want to let down, even at the age of 53 I stll remember those lessons. Many I took with me when I coached baseball and led a Patrol Team.
