i need to get some small (usually inexpensive) things for the 1st aid kit. They are usually cheap, but shipping get to be expensive for 1 or 2 items.

I figured I would put together a larger order of smaller things. Where do you buy from?

Thanks!

You can also hit the dollar stores for things like gauze bandages, menstrual pads (which are great bandages for serious wounds), hydrogen peroxide, isopropyl alcohol, witch hazel, etc. You can even find basic medications as well. Just check the expiration dates.
I...had not considered that. But if my wife got into my first aid bag it might require explanation

I hit up dollar stores and Aldi. H2o2, alcohol, anti-diarrhea, benadyl, other antihistamines, pain meds asa, tylenol, ibuprofen. Multi vits as well but not first aid. Pads work great for wounds, wife will accept that explanation. Gauze, tape etc at local stores. I am trauma trained RN, so I also have sutures and along those lines. No iv stuff, I can't store enough for a real trauma and a little bit just prolongs the inevitable. Getting fish meds too, but be sure you know allergies and indications for abx.

All great responses...I did pilfer the list from another site.....mea culpa....

In addition, don't forget various books on the subject...I have purchased a copy of the Special Operations Forces Medical handbook too and the pdf versions of When there is no Doctor and Dentist...

Also have the latest book on meds too...

and....taken various first aid courses, and looking at various SOLO Wilderness Medicine Courses at NOC

supplies without proper/basic education are worthless to dangerous, imho....

There is a big gun show south of me 4 times a year and there is a guy that tables full of FAK supplies you could start a hospital with what is on his tables. Also haunt the thrift stores, what happens is a sick old person will die and there will drop off of the left over med stuff. I have gotten some really good supplies for free by the case.
