After a serious disaster (major natural disaster, polar shift, police state, alien invasion, whatever...) and paper currency inevitably becomes valueless, what is everyone banking on being of value? Obviously the standard survival stuff applies, weapon, ham etc., but what is a safe bet for bartering? Interested to hear thoughts as i'd like to start reorganizing my investments you could say.

my $.02 stock up on items that people will need to produce things for example you plan on becoming the next soap king/queen your going to need lye, scents and your soap might not be worth much if more people make their own but they are still going to need the lye and scents and such, true you can make like but a consistant batch such as red devil vs homemade lye has something going for it. Same for other "trades" your going to need stuff. the people that really made out during the gold rush was the people that sold the tools to the miners not so much the miners themselves. i would trade soft items (consumables) for hard items ( can be used again and again) but that is just my thoughts on it.
