An interesting video on what to stockpile in great quantities.

I pretty much have everything in the video except wind up flashlights. The best way to stockpile is keep a list of everything you use, eat or drink. Stock all of those items. If you take meds stockpile what you can. Even if you have to skip a pill once in a while to save it. But don't do that if your life will go haywire by missing a drug you are on.

This isn't rocket surgery. Just have extra of what you use. And have supplies that can be stored without refrigeration. There are so many ways to stockpile it is too many to list. But I bet someone comes along and tries. There have already been a ton of threads on stockpiling. Maybe do a search here.

I just bought ten ammo cans from HTF on sale for $10 ea. Probably should have gotten 20. If these tarrifs go in, they'll sell for $25 pretty soon. Already hard to find for under $20. I figure I'll sell 5 and end up with mine for free. I already have a bunch. Hard to have too many.

I don't really stockpile beyond personal use. Other than ammo. But after a lifetime we have plenty of crap to barter. Especially in what looks to be a slow burn SHTF in progress.

I’ve been going through our first aid kits,
checking out what’s there and what’s not.

I've found that there are a whole lot of
little kid boo boo strips - 1 1/2“ X 1/2”.
You know, “mom I got an owie”…. Not
so heavy on gauze and tape, a few anti
biotic packets. Another had more pain
meds, alcohol swabs, Benadryl, and
insect bite swabs. The third had more
bandaids, of several different sizes. I
opened a few of different sizes to check
the sticky and kept the good stuff, the
rest went the way of all the earth.

4” gauze was ordered from Linda Carter
i mean Amazon… knuckle bandages
took the place of ”normal” size bandaids
or went in alongside them. Massive band
aids, 4”X 2”, went in every kit. Left overs
went into the biggie box that we keep in
the downstairs cabinet.

Anyway,
I find that we now seem to be hoarding
band aids. Which isn’t quite as bad as it
sounds since my lovely wife works with
children in a theater and STEM program
where there’s always a boo boo.

Even a better one! LOL

I remember in Basic we were in the claymore class, the platoon was sitting in a bleacher and the instructor was talking while setting up a claymore on a table in front of us. FACING us... I remember sitting there thinking, "I hope they didn't mix the inert model up with a live one." :D

That guy throwing the flash bang or what ever it was in the back room at the 3:27 mark and the guy coming out of the back room was funny. I don't know what words he spoke but his meaning and intent came through loud and clear.

The reason I said you should try it for a week or weekend is because that’s what I did. A full 5 days On mres energy bars and freeze dry food. I really learned how much I didn’t know that I thought I had covered. First was coffee ( I honestly forgot to prep ) which I was able to get the instant outta mres. Second was serving size always way too small on survival food multiply by 2-3. Third was the absolute need for spices hot sauce and comfort items like candy / gum ( in mres ) 4 realized how drink powders are way better than just water. 5 boiling water for all dinners was a pain. But really loved mountain house granola blueberries even dry was good. Oh and banana chips. The only thing I totally cheated on was beer I drank my beer cause it was a trail not shtf. And it also taught me to store more booze for when beer is out. I’m glad I did trial liked most disliked some I thought I would’ve liked and added to stores with all this information. Obviously we would drain our freezers and pantry first but wanted to test my stores best of luck
