What stores and restaurants offer Veteran discounts

Another thread got me to thinking about this topic.

There are quite a few places that offer a discount but, you have to ask and sometimes, the person helping you doesn't even know about it.

McDonalds does

Golden Corral does

Pauls Cigars (Vancouver, WA)

82 St Cigars (Portland, OR)

Lowes

Home Depot (They even have parking spaces for vets!)

That's all I can think of right off the top of my head..

Post a few places and then we can make a list and take our business to those places and skip the places that don't offer discounts.

I'll add a few more as they come to me..

Skip Lowes. They require you to fill out forms, give out a lot of info, and be issued a card to get the discount.

Home Depot gives the discounts at the register without nosing into your business.

Also, Golden Corral is nasty nasty food.

Other than Home Depot the only vet gimmies I hunt are the free oil changes on Nov11 some years.

I'm old enough to get some senior discounts too buy I don't chase them either.

I find it smarter just to chase the general sales to the public because those end up better deals.

It's just unnecessary virtue signalling, just like the pregnant slots.

You either need a handicapped spot or you don't. Go get the tag if you do or walk your old ass across the lot.

You would be surprised at the number who do, but just like a Sr discount - you often have to ask, they are not going to offer it up.

On a side note - because this won't be discussed otherwise... If you are a Veteran living in a state that offers medical MJ and you would like to participate but can't afford the exam and fees, call dispensaries near you. Most have programs that will be at least 1/2 price and some have a list of donors that will pay the entire cost. Also personally, I haven't been to one that hasn't offered a Veterans discount on products.

Until the Feds take MJ off the scheduled list then script MJ is an excuse for a red flag visit.

Never let the Feds or the VA know you take medical MJ, regardless of where you live.

I know a guy who played the system for disability and I have to remind myself 99% of vets are NOT him.

If I were a vet I wouldn't have anything psych on my record, even if I had issues. When I signed up with my doctor I was required to sign a form saying I did not own firearms.

My sister briefly worked in the psych department with addicts (dual diagnosis) at a clinic before of the patients attempted to rape her. She turned the PTSD claim (he did not get her, just grabbed at her and she fled) into a years long rape of the worker's comp getting 3 therapy sessions a week from a very expensive doctor. In addition to other fraudulent activities.

It is my hope she is one of the deadwood pruned out by Trump, she was a horrible employee. I wouldn't hire her to clean a litter box. One of many reasons I cut off contact.

Trying to bust up my marriage so I would go be her caregiver slave was another.
