What ended the first good years of Trump? How did it get killed?

Sorry this is long but I don't know of any other way to word this that's bothered me since.

When Trump was first elected our economy went from the crapper (almost Venezuela levels) to not seen since the late 60s with businesses being creative again and even fast food places doing new things and going better quality.etc.

Then from 2018 onwards the economy was neither rising or falling but just keep sliding around a lot which 2019 it was having more and more (little) dips that kept getting bigger and bigger to the point certain economists was whispering 'Recession 2020?' type statements in various articles on the internet.

It feels like 2017/2018 was a mini Disneyland esque era of hope that wasn't meant to last and I didn't think it would either but at that time if you said anything otherwise you were censored as a 'socialist' even if you weren't actually promoting it but just pointing out common sense logic. Which of course didn't apply to the party in charge.

In the Obama era you were censored for saying anything against him but during the Trump era the tables turned which censorship is bad on BOTH SIDES. Got it?
I wonder if the censorship might have been responsible for the sagging economy as people figured it out and started holding on tight to their values instead of investing when they knew it was too dangerous?

2020 great crash or a series of smaller crashes leading to one possibly sabotaging the elections?

Now that we are in 2020 the dips have become even more pronounce (this was before the Coronavirus slammed hard) so even without this virus the trend wasn't looking good and businesses/food places have started going into recession mode of bad quality and cutting corners.etc where as in Trump's first year they were hiring instead of firing doing new things.

Back in the 2008 recession (actually a depression in all but name) businesses were cutting corners anyway they can and the quality (or lack of) showed in almost all across the board and shipping literally stopped which you used to get links that showed it across the Baltic Index but now it's all random words or MSM links ONLY on results now.

Search Engines are all left wing MSM results now like an extension of the newspaper industry that's all controlled.

Now the depression it's happening again. What ended the hope the first two years of Trump? How did we go from a Disneyland Esque of hope to now worrying about the end of the world in two short years?

I wonder if this might even be the first two good years of the Tribulation where now we are in the 3 and 1/2 year cycle of things going to hell like never seen?

The first two years were to be a 'false' peace and other then the stupid trials against Trump there really wasn't anything earth breaking happening causing people to go in debt overspending whom were holding back in the Obama recession (Depression).

These people also bought expensive houses at record levels and around here in Oregon they built like crazy which has just like Obama slowed down after a drug high. We are now in a drug withdraw syndrome.

'I gotta have my doooooooooooooope! I'll kill or sell someone out if I have to get it!!!' seems to be the reaction these days online. They'll even be willing to sell their own mom.

From the 2018 election on "they" probably realized that the only thing left for them to try was to dump the economy. Any win for the President and the Country was a win for him, and their loss. Remember how hard they fought him on everything? Also, by then the stupid MF'ers probably realized all their little scams like spygate, obstructiongate, Ukrainegate, ALL had failed. So they played the old reliable; impeachment.

Right at the tail end of that is when this started to hit, middle, end of Jan this year. At first all they could do was blabber on about how racist the President was banning travel from China, etc and then we started to see that this might not be some nothingburger. (Italy, Spain) Seeing their opportunity they began to clamor for a shutdown. Keep people home, OMG....it'll kill us all if we don't! Their media stooges were quite accomidating, providing the usual "experts" with bobbleheads. All because they KNEW, shutdown the economy, put people out of work, crash the stock market....they win! The oil deal with Russia/Saudi, happenstance, convenient, contrived, I don't really know. The PM market too. There's been some really funny stuff going on there but I'm not a money guy so IDK.

Bottom line, what was originally nothing more than a ploy to crash the economy and give them the best shot at winning an election died a quiet, messy death when people started to believe this is REAL and then, mystically, it became real. For New Yorkers, it IS real. Over half the US cases are right there. Their densely packed population, mass transit, travel hub and the fact that they didn't start making people stay home until March 22 means they're gonna have some heavy numbers. In comparison California was proactive with testing early but didn't issue a stay order until two days earlier on Mar 20 yet their losses are way lower than NY. Probably because less mass transit and more spread out unban areas. IDK. I do know you don't wish this on anybody and I'll take a win for whatever reason.

As of right now, the President has sixty five corporations turning out everything from protective gear, ventilators, drugs, just for this. And that list is growing. The cooperation from the private sector has been nothing short of astounding. The military, national guard, ALL are gearing up for this. Dot gov is not a speedboat. It can't stop on a dime, reverse, backup or make sharp S turns. It's an aircraft carrier; takes a while to get up to flank speed, takes a heck of a long time to stop, has a turning radius measured in tenths of miles but oh baby, when that thing is pounding out the knots and starts launching its aircraft...:thumb:

The dems are now officially screwed. They are relegated to non-essential status after that last stunt they pulled with their pork-filled stimulus bill. You can expect some really weird **** to happen over the next weeks as they cash in all their markers and chips trying to stop this. Heck, some of the dem governors aren't having to try very hard, LOL. People seem willing to do just about anything right now so the big question is, how does this play out?

I dunno. I know this, if this turns out to be deliberate (I don't think so, but it could be) even the planet Uranus wouldn't be far enough to get away from what they have coming. This is probably going to be one of those things and this will be a game-changer; nothing will be the same after this but I have faith in my Country and the American People. We are going to be fine. Better, stronger and wiser in every way. And......it just might be fun to watch the dems circle-circle-circle and.....dowwwwn they go. I'm gonna keep a lawn chair and some adult beverages handy because I want to watch that :D:

There is very little a president can do to help the economy, though there is much they can do to damage it.

As for the perceptions described in post #1, I suggest they were mostly the product of narratives being pushed by partisan media, rather than reality.

Talking heads say "boo to their guy, all bad things come from him", and "hooray our guy, all good things come from him", and people believe it, but it's smoke and mirrors. The dips and rises of the economy happen under all presidents, for reasons which by and large have nothing to do with those presidents.

I've never been a fan of Trump, not a hater, just indifferent. I appreciated the money I made under him. What became apparent to a political moderate like me was that the DNC had totally turned against the people of our country in thier utter and complete rage at the half of the country that voted him into office. After many failed political ploys for power, we see true desperation, especially since thier bastions of votes are beginning to be devastated by a pandemic.

So, here we all are..... Nothing has worked for them. Thier presidential hopefuls turned out to all lack enough appeal to be electible. The booming economy that was crushing thier election chances was slowed down and reversed by the same pandemic starting to ravage thier strongholds. So now, thier ONLY glimmer of hope is to crash the economy totally. Trumps handlng of this pandemic has been decisive. His poll numbers keep climbing.

What ended those years were not the elites...they failed totally. There is an oppurtunity in this disaster, though that is hard to see. The CCP sees this oppurtunity, for thier own salvation. Thier future is mortgaged 2-3 times greater than the American debt, thier military wants to grow but continues to lag behind others. Thier culture is much older but has been hamstrung by an idealogy with a systemic dependence on the natural material and financial excess produced by capitalism. Even that excess produced on thier shores can not prop up thier system much longer.

This pandemic is thier very last chance not to collapse finacially, thier last oppurtunity to make a military move. But its too early...except for a collapse, the CCP cant succeed now. They are drowning in thier elderly.

I disagree with the OP's perceptions and really don't think it reflects reality.

I'm no Obama fan and disagree with Obama and his policies, but the markets and economy were actually doing pretty well by the end of his sluggish recovery 8 years. His policies were bad but the economy was growing by 2015 and the markets had rebounded well. If you don't believe me look at the index charts and unemployment numbers. They were fairly healthy.

As for why the collapse of the economy in the last months and why the gloom going forward. You'd have to live in a cave without any outside world contact not to be able to field that question. It's pretty obvious.

As for this being some grand conspiracy to "get" Trump, I disagree. This probably actually aids Trump in the big picture. Any collapse in the markets won't be his fault. He has done a poor job at first, but nobody got this right including the WHO and CDC and the Dems who were fixated on Impeachment from November thru the 1st week of February so the Dems are really more to blame for the distraction than Trump is. Trump has done a adequate job and Presidents are rarely removed during Wartime i.e. people don't changes horses midstream. Sure the Dems will use this to their best advantage but any Dem or the media which points fingers at Trump - well they also missed this so it's disingenious criticism and they are more to blame for the big Impeachment distraction.

I don’t think I watched the same one you did, I thought Trump did great. You sure you haven’t mistaken Trump for Pelosi? Not sure how you could do that but most of the time demorats see everything through a different shade of glasses.
Central Scrutinizer what color are yours? Pink... oh no gottabe blue...

I had an extremely hard time taking anything you said after this point seriously...

I don't like or dislike Trump, he's a mixed bag, but comments like this aren't remotely based in reality and show heavy cognitive disconnection/bias.

Simple. China used the virus to get the anti-communist protesters off the streets of Hong Kong and Wuhan. The American left say the viability of using the virus too. So they did. Trump stupidly fell for it, so did many other people. They were willing to burn down the village to "save" it. The left knew they would. Just wrap a "crisis" in the flag and watch people salute and do as they are told.

Yep. All the Trump fans chanting "it's not socialism when our guy does it, Merica".

Fact of the matter is Trump bumbled the entire thing and he doesn't care about Joe public and the "stimulus" bill plainly illustrates that fact. At his heart Trump is a disconnected billionaire and his actions have time and time again been in favor of wall street over main street.

Never let a good crisis go to waste. :thumb: I feel for my kids and grandkids. The debt levels incurred under Trump have been astronomical and will only continue to climb.
