I didn't see this posted.

Family has an altercation with a Walmart employee and regroup in the parking lot.

Cops called.

The rest is too confusing to follow, but a mass, moving scrum ensues. Tasers and pepper spray used.

Eventually an officer ends up on the ground and there's a struggle for his weapon. He's shot in the leg but shoots and kills one of the attacking family members.

Full video here:

Shots start around the 3:00 mark. Notice at about 3:40, the injured office has a misfire and clears it. Then another misfire. (Empty?) It wasn't his day, but the person in the sights won the cosmic lottery.

Here's some hour long coverage from a local Fox affiliate.

Skip to 30 minutes or so to hear a break down by the police chief (?).

This family clearly wasn't going down without a fight. They were parading around with their hands up, but that was only to get close to the cops and start attacking again. And it appears that 2-3 of the family members were going for the downed officer's gun despite his partners' best efforts to get them off of him.

There's several occasions where cops were either going to draw or had already unholstered their weapons, but put them back for fear of hitting the wrong person.

That was my thought, too.

But I don't think all of the cops arrived at once, but rather staggered in over time as the situation escalated.

If they had numbers from the start, then they could target one perp at a time until they were all in cuffs.

But once that officer was on the ground and fighting for his gun, that became the focus of their attention. It appears as though things de-escalated quickly after one of their precious snowflakes took a dirt nap.

That is horrible. I hope they throw the book at them, and it sticks!

English seems their First Language. They all appear to be Adults. Just Could Not Follow Officers' Instructions. Kinda instructive that the Eight - Ten of them were uncontrollable by Six? Officers?

There were Women included! They didn't look to all be UFC fighters. Looking bad for non-lethal Police Crowd Control if things go radical in our society! No wonder Police are wishing on APCs and SoundCannons, Microwave "Skin Burners" and suchlike!

Easy to see which Direction the Police/Citizen interface is trending!

Too bad. The "Citizens" are driving this change.

Agreed. Too many "Citizens" either don't belong here in the first place, or they have a deep-rooted misunderstanding of what it means to be a member of a law abiding, civilized society.

Surprised only one of them got shot. Guess I should be glad I'm not a cop, because I would of shot more of them. Those "kids" were out to do some harm.

Watching the long video with the chief narrating the account, I am struck by his emotion watching his officers. I get the feeling he wishes he was there to help them and protect them from those dumbass people.

I guess. Not sure what exactly started the whole deal. Does look like an officer started grabbing first. The chief or whatever doing the narration, pretty much made the bad guys seem as they were super men. All the police looked like they were in pretty good shape, and it was four on four. Yes another one was fifteen.

I can't see why they weren't handcuffing them when they were just standing there.
The whole deal just looked strange, as the officers didn't want to hurt them. They kept backing off.

I think some of the officers were just in shock. Plenty of times they could have grabbed them and just beat the tar out of them. I watched it three times and still can't totally grasp what exactly was going on.

The police just tried to use too much restraint. it just looked like a wild bar brawl.

and pepper spray, batons, and Stun guns didn't do a thing. They didn't look that bad ass, the cops looked pretty tough.

Maybe they were all on drugs or something. I got to watch it again.

"Matthew 24 Now" is the band name.

Matthew 24 talks about the end times and persecution.

Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.

Sounds like they were self fulfilling.

OK, I am having trouble understanding what this 3rd most unbelievable police incident in the space of a week is all about.

The story we are being fed is that a family of 8 unarmed superhumans, made so by what? drugs? religion? pure anger? Are immediately and without a moment's hesitation, ready to all commit as a group to a no-win scenario hand to hand confrontation with squad cars full of armed police officers in a parking lot, over what? A disagreement is a rest room?

They are impervious to non-lethal methods. The Asp, the baton, pepper spray, tasers, blows to the head.

Non of these 8 superhuman MMA champions pulls a knife or a gun? Clearly they would like to use one since they are trying to get the gun of the officer. They are in Arizona, they could walk into any Walmart and walk out with an armload of guns, knives, whatever they want. I am supposed to believe not one of them has so much as a knife? But are willing to embark upon Mortal Combat with no apparent motive? Was the rest room dirty or something? What makes 8 family members go into full combat, unarmed, with NO chance of winning?

The father repeats the line sounding much like Gene Rosen. (same script writer?)
"You are attacking children...children" over and over.

It is unbelievable to me, so I don't believe it.

It will be interesting to see what draconian government change these three events will catalyze. My bet is they will make a case for federal control of police.

Incident 1, flagrant police shooting of unarmed fleeing black man
Incident 2, Crazy beating of fleeing white guy on a horse. (He should be dead, but only has a black eye)
Incident 3, Family of 8 go into full combat, accusing police of being Nazis.

So the narrative being developed is:
incident 1 and 2 show that the police are out of control.
Incident 3 shows that people are in revolt over this. (while simultaneously smearing the reputation of religion, family, and whatever else this fantasy family believes in).

I think we will soon hear:
"...And that's why I, President Barack Herbert Comacho, am signing this executive order to Federalize the police."
And they will no longer carry non-lethal devices. Only Tech-9's, pistols, and rocket launchers.

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

Let's break that statement down. "Civilian National Security Force just as strong and well funded as (the military)" - National means Federally controlled. And the rest is a pure violation of Posse Comitatus.

And we have the money to fund the equivalent of another US military? And this is good for the American people how exactly? Oh, like the KGB. Yeah, that would be great.

Sorry, even though I'm a member of these Survivalist boards, I don't go for conspiracy theories... Greed and stupidity explain way more, and has the advantage of not stretching one's credulity.

In this world, there are simply stupid and foolish people who often raise even more stupider and foolisher people. After viewing the hour-long video, I'm convinced that neither the odds of winning nor consequences of mixing it up with the police entered the feeble minds of these rocket scientists. One down. Natural consequences.
