I know it not much to many on this board, but just got back from two weeks in the woods, and scarfing down a nice fatty Little Caesars Pizza. In many ways it was better then my previous long term camping trip, even if I had a lot of problems and not much fun.

First off, had a lot of tent issues, My old tent which was a hand me down had almost given up the ghost, so I tried a Ozark trail tent. It was a big tent (six person) and well reviewed. I had a lot of seam issues and spent a lot of my time keeping it dry, and Glad I had a tarp over me.

I brought a lot more food this time then my previous 3 week trip. 20 pounds of rice, 5 cans of Spam/tweet, 5 cans sourkrout, 5 lb baked beans, and some dried fruit and nuts. Even with that and 4 fish caught I still lost weight.

I mostly worked on improving my BOL, Cashe firewood, placing a steel drum with supplies, spreading some berries I found for future forging. But spent a lot of time just drying out stuff and dealing with a wet and less then totally fun camping. No hunting as it close to seasons and a lot of wardens around assuming that if you hunting your trying to poach a deer.

And yes, as soon as I got home I got this pizza and a can of foot spray.

It sounds like the area you camp out in is your choice for a BOL encase things go bad. Curious what made you pick this spot ???? What resources does it have? You also mention steel drums and supplies do you have this buried. What do you store ???? You mention spreading Berry's are you planting food ? Around your location

My evac buddy and I are leaving for a 2 week test run Thursday. This will be our 2 time out in the new area. Looks like we will be having a little better weather than you did but, around here you can blink and the forecast changes....lol...so, I am planning for the worst and hoping for the best.
At least you are learning what you need to do for your BOL.

And yes "spam" will be onboard with us too.

Every time I get back from hunting I take a nice warm shower, then alone time with the wife, then pick up and twelve pack of beer, and cook up some tacos :thumb:

For camping trips I take beef jerky, pepperoni sticks, trail mix, pasta, rice, SPAM, protein bars, a couple of Snickers bars, Gatorade mix, and some dried fruit. Also spices and salt & pepper.

Then I fish as much as possible.
