What or who do you all think are the 3 highest threats to the U.S. today?

Oh no, a noob! Everything he says is stupid and/or a lie! get him!

give me a break.

anyway.... OP, to answer your question...

I'm not sure I'd put them in any order but I honestly believe that the three most likely things to happen to bring down society would be financial meltdown, EMP attack, and global pandemic.

I'm not going to go into a long, drawn out explanation of why I worry about these things because
A: it's been done 10,000 times
and
B: nobody will actually read it anyway, unless they are looking for something to rip me apart over

I think that what Cuppycake said was pretty close. I think that perhaps a natural disaster would be more likely then a global pandemic, however its very unlikely it would effect the whole nation.

The key is not to worry about a specific event as much as it is to prepare for the aftermath. Which for almost all situations will be very similar requirements. Food/water, shelter, security. Everything else is a luxury!

I've always considered a global pandemic a natural disaster, (not to be splitting hairs:)). But I'm afraid of the upcoming solar max (communications breakdown and grid failure), followed by a major earthquake, then maybe a major flu outbreak. YIKES!
I agree whole heartedly with your comment about the importance of general prep.

It is harmless. As with any forum you have your royalty that act a little whacko...

The #1 Threat because the possibility of it happening is basically assured is financial meltdown. I think the world will go to war to try to counter the economic meltdown because it will be worldwide. Lastly I believe the infrastructure will collapse because of a lack of basic needs for the public.

1. Home grown terrorists. These people are going to be hard to identify.

2. The countries financial problems. Very broad, but includes, foreign aid, welfare and out of control spending on stupid stuff.

3. Increasingly strange weather patterns. People are getting caught off guard with weather they don't see in their part of the country. This can also disrupt the food supply to a point where the country can not recover.
