The citizens of the state of Texas instill confidence in me when it comes to standing up for our rights and freedoms bestowed to each of us by God. I've traveled the country over the years and realize this free spirit survivalist sentiment is not unique to Texas and Texans. It's just that I believe Texas has the critical mass to stand up against the tyranny that is surely coming our way from BHO and his Politburo. It's going to get nasty folks if we don't get our government under control this November. Remember November! And before that try getting your family & friends to join us 8/28 in DC for the Restoring Honor Rally.
I live in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country where exposure to criminal chaos and takeover is real. Living in a suburban area is, I'm convinced, an indefensible, vulnerable, location. I need to get my family out of here and to a place with like minded individuals.
So we are in the beginning stages of looking for a place in the Hill Country. Either raw land near a water source and build on it or an existing community with a population density that is more manageable with good Christians whom we could join.
Anyone have tips on how to meet like minded people to join forces in creating small self-sufficient communities? Is this even the right direction to go. Or should we just find a smaller small town community and move there? I don't know.

Well I sure do hope you Texans, will stand up to the tyranny thats coming.
You guys are always talking tuff.
I think the brunt of the tyranny will start in Texas, cause if they can defeat Texas,
then most of the country will crumble.
I've lived in Texas, worked in the oilfield, got alot of family there Breckenridge and Albany.
But after living in MOntana since 84,I think were one up on most Texans.

Honestly, I am kind of concerned about our State. Austin is now little San Francisco, our governor is typical politician and a eunuch, he isn't for the a law similar to what Arizona passed, etc....

Too many people are fat and happy..........sheeple.

Did you see Perry going up and shaking Obama's hand when he came to Texas last week (I think it was last week or the week before)? I think it's time for the people to elect new representatives to replace the ones there that are not getting the job done and doing what we as "The People" want them to do!!!!

Texrunner, look at the Fredericksburg area. Good people there, and very fertile! We went there on vacation over July 4th and I've was moved at how patriotic that town still is! I wore a shirt one day that says "Guns don't kill people, Texans with guns kills people" and I was stopped almost every 5 feet by people commenting how they like my shirt! One was a city police officer!! I know it can get expensive there but look into that area if you want good folks as neighbors.

I love my state. Lots of great people and gotta love the gun laws around here. We have 20 acres of land in south Texas near the border (inherited it...we live about 6 hrs away from it). It's mostly brush and mesquite land with some decent hunting. It's somewhat off the grid and is a great place to get away from populated areas.

We've been talking about converting some of the land into an escape shelter...putting together the costs now. We'll see what happens.

Gotta Love Texas

I was born and raised in Texas and will die in Texas. I grew up about an hr sw of the metroplex and now live in the Austin area. My grand parents have land in east tx that would make a good BOL if needed, couple of hundred acres I will inherit one day and my wifes family has several thousand acres in west tx, that if we could make it out there would be ideal, no one would ever find us there. Lots of food (and the ability to farm and hunt), plenty of water and lots and lots of ammo:D:

Oh yeah.... Lets get Rick Perry out of office already!!:taped:

And replace him with who.... Bill White??!! Remember that "being mad at Bush" brought us ALL Ovomit! 'Better to deal with the devil you know than the devil you don't know! Or in the case of White....his reputation preceeds him!

I'd rethink your last statement and by saying that, I'm not sympathizing Perry, for he needs to get his feces consolidated big time!

I have only lived here in the great state of Texas for about a year n a half. moving here from the messed up state of illinois. I have some family here, n i figured that its easier to starve in the heat than in the cold. the people here are nice the weather is kick ass, tthe land some is very rocky but liveable. I like many of u would fight to keep this state free and great. Another good thing! the guns, n the outdoors.
