On July 29th (episode 1614) Jack Spirko did a good podcast on "The dangers of nation wide riots." I cut and pasted the link here...

http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/

I thought it was a well rounded look at the who, what, when, where and whys of rioting and the best course of act/ reaction. He has good insight on some issues I hadn't thought of. Enjoy.

I figure being well outside of an urban area my home will be safe. My small town doesn't have any rioting types, and does have a lot of "stay off my lawn" types.

However, getting home from work in that situation could be defensively difficult and would require a solid ghb, pre planned route that avoids major areas and roads, and a grey man approach.

When I was a tad in the 1960s there were several summers in a row (66, 67, and especially 68) where race riots tore through 8-10 major US cities.

In Detroit the National Guard was called out, and 50 caliber machinegun duals were fought with snipers up in tall buildings. This was not your average riots - there were tanks positioned in major intersections in Detroit. My father and I went down there to pull some family friends out of the situation, and I recall the burning buildings and soldiers rolling around in APCs.

Life Magazine did some fantastic spreads with pages and pages of photos.

The point is that precedent has been established. It won't be one huge riot coast to coast, but clearly a sequence of riots in major urban centers not only is possible, but has already occurred in our not so distant past.

I was in the Watts Riot of the 60s. Believe me, it can happen. I now live in a rural area in the Ozarks where most of us are united and safe from thugs. One problem we have is the growing meth addiction. But everyone is armed and ready for intruders. If I lived in one of the big cities I would make plans to exit and move to away ASAP.

I do not believe that the current powers want large scale riots though, so I disagree with the podcasters view on that.

After the church shooting someone obviously spent a LOT of hush money immediately to keep things calm, the family members of the dead were pleased as punch to call for "forgiveness and calm" and in some cases well....they looked too pleased.

That was downright freakishly strange and certainly NOT coincidence. Obviously the government became concerned about the fallout and realized it had the potential to get very bad, very fast.

Very interesting Will, thanks for the heads up. Usually I dismiss this stuff as the usual racist drivel but you are right, well rounded. I would say for us rural folks, the threat level should escalate if urban and suburban riots take place. Not just because of bleed off into the country but the undesirables already in the rural areas.

Once the RoL starts to fade, the meth heads and heroin addicts will become a much bigger threat. yes, country folks you do have this problem in your area even if you don't see it or believe it.

Stuff like that does spill over.

Kent, OH wasn't what anyone would call a city in '71-'72.

One of the Chicago 7, grew up in my hubs' tiny town in Va.

The big difference, is that most of us read about those in things in newspapers. Yes, there are some memorable tv news clips... but the propaganda machine drumming up the urgency to take sides wasn't running 24/7 back then.

I truly don't believe there is some vast conspiracy to bring the US to it's knees by Soros and his fellow uber-Progressives.

Let's just say, however, that if for some sad reason there WERE to be nationwide rioting, tremendous civil unrest, deployment of the national guard, etc. etc. it appears that such behavior would play right into the hands of the Obama Administration in terms of things like:
  • Gun Control - it would provide a rationale for nationwide crack-downs on guns and ammunition;
  • Income Redistribution - explanations would surely include mention of the "wealth gap", and additional efforts to tax the wealthy to provide additional bread and circuses to the poor would be likely;
  • Minimum Wage - in addition to other poverty alleviation measures, minimum wage laws would be revised upwards to the dismay of small business owners;
  • A plethora of social programs (Midnight Basketball League anyone?) would be created to provide 'stress relief outlets' for the urban poor;
  • Taxes would go up to support additional spending on a wide array of social programs;
  • Student Debt & Education Reform would become topics as additional measures were put in place to ensure that 'no child left behind' applied equally inner city yoots who were for all practical reasons completely un-employable;
  • Immigration Reform and the declaration of an amnesty program whereby all illegal immigrants are now US citizens might well be jammed through;
  • And so on and so on and so on.....

Whether actually caused by Progressive forces or not, in accordance with the Raum Emmanuel Playbook of "Let No Crisis Go to Waste" it seems probable that the Obama Administration would move quickly to capitalize on any rioting or civil unrest to advance their agenda under crisis circumstances, whereas ordinarily they would have no chance of doing so.

I'm probably going to pull "The Idiot Evangelist" routine and set up shop nearby.

Well, I'd pray on it. I got a very clear NO, by the way, on doing a Bible Handout near the Occupy crowd a while back.

I've always thought that it's the law that keeps these sub-humans alive. With nationwide rioting, I think that LEO's could quickly become overwhelmed
Or the governor declares a state of emergency and we start cleaning the streets.

But, yeah, if we have to play by the rules, the scum get to thrive.

You know that's out there now, right, Paul? :upsidedown:

Try not to give anyone rope to hang you!

That said, I've got no issues with the ignorant. I get more frustrated with people who should know better, but don't.

I don't think the government wants the riots, at least, not the Democrat party. They could lose large numbers of their voting bloc, particularly if those members left their area. If these members traveled elsewhere, they would be diluted, and not largely concentrated as they are now. This would serve as a boon to some states that are dominated by a few large cities, or one large city.

Think about how a "normal" might read your post.

How it might appear to a government bot.

Think about that.

Me, I'm called to the people group y'all are despising. I find that interesting. Of course, I am also a "race traitor" because I married a mixed-race black man. :eek: A crippled one, no less. :thumb:

I'm just fine with that.

Kitty,
I for one have nothing against you or your husband and I don't give a thought to your husband's race. I don't choose my friends by the color of their skin. I loath and discriminate against ALL races and ALL nationalities equally. I don't accept ANYONE because they are one color or another. ALL people of ALL colors and nationalities are *** holes. I despise the spoiled, middle class white trash involved in the "Occupy Movement" right along with the looters and arsonists of Ferguson.

My wife and I have a collection of close friends more diverse than the U.N. I choose my friends on an individual basis.....color is not a factor. I select friends based on their character and their actions. People of good character and proper conduct are always welcome at our table.

I'm quite sure there are many here on SB who feel the same.
Please don't feel like people here are against you.

Soros has been around since the 60's at least(When he was a well known fixture around Greenwich Village with Dorn, Ayers and the rest of the Weather Underground and the Panthers),pretending to die then coming back to life, and if you look at his PSD(Professional **** Disturber) history, you will see that anything he has a hand in is not good for the United States...He has spent his life trying to arrange for our fall...

No, I don't, but even ignorant people have value.

My husband and I figured that out long ago. We don't give a hoot about race, but we don't like ignorant people.

Of course, where did God call me to work? With whom? LOL

I don't like ignorant ugly either.

I'm not receiving what y'all are saying as against ME. BUT.... if the wrong person reads it you could be in a world of trouble.

Says little old paranoid me. :p
