Oh well... the people who buy those cars deserve what they get

 

If they can afford those stupid cars, they can afford to wait. Electric cars are blindingly stupid to buy, unless they are 100% solar. Where do those idiots think the electricity comes from that recharged their cars? Either coal, natural gas, or possibly nuclear.

And then, factor in the pollution it take to MAKE those batteries.....and what about after the batteries start to fail, and cost thousands to replace? Where do the old, extremely dangerous and polluting lithium ion batteries go?

Years ago, some car magazine did a comparison of a 300K mile life of a prius vs an H2, with gas something like $3/gallon. It was cheaper to buy and own the H2, simply because the batteries of the prius needed to be changed every 100K, which wasn't warrantied, and cost a ridiculous amount.

 

Rebuilt Prius battery pack installed, 5 year warranty, $1500-$2000...not exactly a ridiculous amount of money every 10 years.

If I needed a cheap computer car I'd pick a 2nd/3rd generation with a dead battery pack & replace it myself for half the above price.

 

Just bring it back to the mall, where they bought it. LOL

Electric cars will no doubt have their time and place.

 

In a warm urban center, with no need to use the heat, lots of plug ins, and a garage that includes a vehicle or two capable of taking a long trip without needing to stop and recharge.

 

That's part of the master plan.
While the car is in for repairs no coal is being burned to produce the electricity it needs.

So broken down Tesla's are saving the planet more than running Tesla's.
