Tired of the terminology used by preppers, survivalists, and people with too much free time? You know who you are. The poll's anonymous. Go for it.

It's any kind of shotgun when spoken about by twelve year old gangsters and mall ninjas. While the configuration is variable the preferred set up is black with a pistol grip, tube extension, and 27lbs of flashligts, lasers, heatshields and bayonets. Most likely loaded with birdshot because that was the cheapest box of ammo at walmart.

Lol ... Great thread!!!!!! :D:

I'm so tired of "survivalist" and "prepper" speak ... All of it ...

and as for "shotty" ... I used to work at a gun range. There was a guy there why ALWAYS had to show the "shotty" to the hot chicks who came in. AND he had the rack the action UNCONTROLLABLY ... to show her how it worked. The whole store knew there was a woman in the shop (besides me) when they heard that sound.

I asked him one time if he always "finished" or if he was ever left "unsatisfied". :D:  Man was he PO'd ... said something about a sexual harassment suit (and he was serious).:eek: I just laughed at him and said "yeah, that's gonna look good ... Big ole you being harassed by little ole me.":D: The rest of the guys gave him all kinds of grief about that!! :thumb:

Here are some way over used phrases that get under my skin.

Calling polymer framed handguns - Tupperware

The "frog in the pot" analogy

The "Just the sound of racking a pump shotgun, will send most criminals running."

The "how's that hopey changey thing workin out for ya?"

"Put down the kool-aid"

Each time, the poster thinks they're bringing some ground breaking clever incite to a thread.

Sheeple is a great example for this.

If sheeple don't like the term sheeple, what are they going to do? They're frigging sheeple...they'll take it, because if someone doesn't, that person ain't a sheeple and doesn't have a dog in that fight.

Also, talking smack about sheeple in a survivalist forum is like talking smack about the Amish in a casino. They ain't supposed to be there to be insulted so there's no harm, no foul.

The best thing about dehumanizing them as sheeple is they become a resource.

I like the regular terms and concepts, but there are some that are misused by foolish people:

One thing that is irritating is we have people who use the term "Main Battle Rifle" not when referring to a military firearm, semi automatic or semi automatic and full automatic, fed from a detachable magazine, firing a rifle cartridge, normally equiv or equal to .308 Winchester but when referring to any rifle because they think the term is neat and they intend to go into 'battle' with it in their survivalist warlord fantasy.

I voted for "other". I'm getting sick of things that start with "What is the best..." and "If you could have only one...". When will people learn there is no one "best" anything? They need to learn to think about their circumstances and needs, then research to see what most closely fits their situation. And it is ludicrous to think that there will be anyone even moderately prepared who is limited to only one of anything.

Agreed, there is no end all be all in anything.

I will tell you folks what I’m tired of, The How’s and Why’s of a SHTF.

does it really matter if we get slammed with a some phantom comet or have an EMP dropped on us?

If you are prepping as you are living then "technically speaking" the EOTWAWKI will be three days past before you realize it.
