What myself and others do, actually I learned it here, is to tear the center tubes out ourselves and vac seal it using a seal-a-meal or food saver.

It crushes down so well that you can get 4 full rolls in a one gallon bag. It you take a rolling pin to it after sealing then it gets even flatter.

A 24 roll pack will take up the same space as a four roll pack.

Of all the survivalist and prepper problems I can think of, the very last one would be Cryo-vacced toilet paper.

I just put a roll in a ziploc bag for my daughter's GHB, and all I had to do was squeeze it--I didn't even take out the cardboard roll it was on.

If the biggest problem one has is "solving" the TP "problem," I'd say they are as prepped as anyone can ever be.

DO NOT USE MULLION FOR TOILET PAPER

Contrary to the posted video, the leaves of the Common Mullion plant are an irritant to sensitive skin. They feel really soft, and you can be easily tempted to use them as TP, but your butt will itch for the rest of the day.

I have lots of this plant growing around my house, and thought I had a TP solution. After trying it one day (for test purposes), I can confirm that you should not plan on using this!!!

everytime i'm out in the bush
i tell myself i'm going to try Mullein

" natures toilet paper "
The little fuzzy spines stick in your butt. It is a good tobacco alternative, and some believe it helps with asthma to make a tea out of the flowers.

Mullein.....I've got that (crap). If you purposely plant it or it's growing around your property, and when it goes to seed, you will hate yourself for the rest of your life. While it may have it's purpose for something, it's very invasive, self seeds to just about everywhere besides where you want it to be, and once you've got it and try to control the spreading problem, there will be hell to pay. If you have anything over a city lot, the control problem will be somewhere between unbearable to impossible, and you're gonna make the manufacturer of Roundup and it's likes filthy rich, all while losing the battle to control this "pretty" yet highly invasive, prolific spreading weed. Consider yourself warned.

True, but it only puts on the stalk and seeds every other year. So if you catch it the first when it's just a fuzzy patch then you can dig it up quite easily.
It's wierd, it grows the base one year, dies back for winter and year 2 it flowers and seeds.

Granny was quite old even when I was born. She had come from a subsistence farm in South Carolina and knew all sorts of uses for wild plants. She did use mullein for arthritis; and smoked various things that might be illegal today.

I was taught to use leaves to wipe and as I recollect it worked pretty well, although today I think it might feel less than clean . . .

Hoping you don't have to try that in the fall or winter........;)

i just took a double roll, smashed in flat, stuffed it in a ziplock bag.packing cans of beans, i dont want no skimpy roll of "camping" TP.

for my disaster prep "cache" im thinking of getting them vacuum bags you use with a vacuum cleaner.smash down a whole package as small as i can. collapsing the tube doesnt hurt it, eliminating the tube isnt needed to save room.
