You should do it under a full moon , the moon light in the can will keep the ammo fresher .

Ammo cans with good seals. when you open the can you get a suction release from the can. If you have some absorbants use them. Keep in cool dry place if possible.

 

Pack it in bag full of CO2 then place it in a sealed ammo can full of nitrogen then bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour...

Just leave it in its original box, I've shot 50 year old .22's w/o issues....

 

Grinn gave the best advice. If you do find a good military ammo can make sure it is clean and it will not hurt to "Clean" the rubber seal. Then wipe the rubber seal down with a LIGHT coating of WD-40... Don't foget the silica-gel bag...

If you store it in a sealed ammo can filled with cloves of garlic it will work on vampire bats!
