I just said that but comparing a meat pie to a pot pie and saying one is better tasting than the other is a matter of taste and personal preference.....I would not impose my opinion as absolute fact in a matter where personal preference plays such a strong role

This Aussie may in fact try a pot pie some day and rather prefer it to a meat pie.

There is much to be said for a thick stew like filling in a traditional pastry shell.....I would want to try my first Aussie meat pie going in without any prejudices given to me by somebody pushing his personal opinion on me.
Why are you antagonistic even when I agree with you?

You have imprinted your persona in my mind thru many many posts and I naturally do not like it.

I see everything you say as sarcastic and insincere.....I thought you kne that....I only do to you what you do to others ..... sort of the reverse of the golden rule (so you can experience its benefits first hand).:D::rolleyes::thumb:

So you'll automatically be antagonistic to whatever I post. Clearly you aren't honest enough to look at the individual merits of a post.

And you wonder how the stereotype of the ugly and ignorant American came about....
I could care less what Europeans think of us.....Their acceptence of Socialism disgusts me.....They had freedom and they squandered it. (We are about to do the same but I bet there will be a fight in congress over it and if it happens after November 2010 I''l bet good money freedom will triumph over socialism....Till then we are in trouble.

When did Europeans have their freedom?

After WWII they could have been anything they wanted....Last time I checked that is freedom....They lost it when they went socialst.:thumb:
You really don't know anything about 20th century European history, do you? Could Poland have been anything it wanted? Could Estonia have been anything it wanted? Could the GDR have been anything it wanted? Could Hungary post 1956 have been anything it wanted? Could Yugoslavia have been anything it wanted? Etc, etc, etc.

I know. Pete doesn't seem to understand this. He thinks America liberated all of Europe and then Europe decided to become socialist.

My mother is from East Germany the Americans liberated her town first then the Russians moved in when the Americans pulled out to keep the Russians from getting Austria. Her town was 14 Kilometers from wher ehte US Army and the Russian Army met on the Elbe River.

The Germans that wanted freedom escaped......many did not think the Kommisar rule would be bad...they were sadly mistaken.

My Grandmother left the East when the Kommisar told her that her Property (a movie theater) now belonged to the state and that the stated needed a manager of that property if she accepted his generous offer the family would be allowed to remain in their home (which was above the movie theater). She took the job, got a trip to Berlin approved by the Kommisar packed her bags with anything that could be sold on the black market grabbed the kids and never looked back.

Most Germans knew where they could find freedom after the war....In the American zone! My German Grandfather was in Dresden when the war ended (he was in the Flak Gewher) he ditched his uniform and went west before the Russians could capture him.

Yes politics prevented Patton from continuing WWII against the Soviets.....too bad he was right about them.
