Is there any bad news that these people won't try to spin as a sign of hope??

"But the latest report from National Retail Federation showed that, while inventory loss due things like shoplifting increased by $3.6 billion, or nearly 11 percent, to $37 billion last year, much of that loss was due to employee theft.

Some economy watchers say that’s actually a good sign for the economy—that employees are feeling more secure in their jobs, and therefore more comfortable taking a few risks.

Maybe the workers feel that they are being ripped off. Or are unable to manage on the wage they are paid due to the rising cost of living. When you have your terms of employment changed for the worse with the threat of unemployment. Then you see management and shareholders rewarded for the saving they have achieved at you expense it may make some people seek to readdress the balance by stealing from work. If everyone is seen to share the hardships then there would be no need to rebalance the equation. People who steal are cheating the system, but if the system is cheating them does it make it right? I would seek to find employment in which I did not feel cheated but in today’s environment this is not easy.

We are about to close a business that has been around for over 30 years. We have rendered a good service and employed dozens, maybe hundreds over the years. We cannot go on with the entitlement, wal mart attitude shared both by customers and employees. customers want the best for not just cheap but free and employees want to make more money than the owners that have risked their whole lives on the business. we are fed up and ready to just lock the doors and tell everyone to eat #hit. If you think employers are taking advantage of you, don't steal, quit, start your own business and see how easy it is. If you think a company is taking advantage of you, did your own ditches and pump your own crap and see how easy it is. all you lazy asses that believe in class warfare are probly laying around eating cheese while we work.

"Employees feeling secure enough in their jobs that can steal"....What the.....?!?!
I guess these knuckleheads will twist and spin whatver they can in their twisted logic to put perfume on this pig (the economy).

It'd be nice to see the small businesses that built america get the same bailouts that these corporations with HUGE labor unions got.......but we all know that will never happen.

It's only going to get worse my friends.

The more I read, the more I realize how absolutely terrified some people are, that they would come to those conclusions or simply make them up so people have "positive" news. You know, a battery doesn't work unless it has a positive and a negative side. Yin and Yang, that's the way everything is. Their positivity addiction has just about run its course. And when the people know that they are really about ready to take the hit, you watch out because people are going to lose their damned minds.

I run a small post-retirement business (electronic kits for ham radio operators) and have shipped 200 packages a year via post office for the last three or four years.

My loss rate in shipping has been zero until two months ago - it's now one or two a month.

I don't know if this is a statistical fluke or if it indicates a major rise in postal theft.

arent these the sort of people we often refer to as "the entitlement crowd" ?

Feeling short=changed by the company u work for, change jobs perhaps. stealiing is stealing no matter how u disguise it or how many excuses one comes up with.such a thing as integrity, honor and being able to sleep with urself at night is a good thing.

Stealing from your company is like slowly cutting your own throat with a hacksaw, in the end it is not in your best interest to do financial damage to the one giving you job security.

The better your company does the more secure your pay is...... the worse they do the more likely you are to become unemployed....

I hear people complaining about things they are made to do at work and don't get paid for, I keep my mouth shut because many of these things I have done for companies that I worked for without being paid or asked to, because I thought it in the best interest for the company. Whatever is good for the company in the end is good for me.

Typical "cnbc spin" to twist a new light that BHOs "stimulus legislation".... just absolutely must be creating enough jobs to tempt employees to steal because another job is just around the corner... if I get caught. Like all other liberal news media trying to find any method of spin... to protect their socialist prez...
