Shooting firefighters and EMTs now... WTF is wrong with people???

Multiple shots fired at an ambulance responding to a call for a person having difficulty breathing. Several rounds struck the ambulance, and one firefighter took a graze wound to the side of the head.

This is absolutely beyond me. Don't take this the wrong way, but I can understand shooting a cop if it comes down to that or going to prison. But to shoot an EMT or firefighter? That makes absolutely zero sense to me at all. These people are underpaid to work long hours doing some very messy and often times dangerous work. How anyone in their mind could justify shooting an EMS worker is truly beyond me.

I would like to see the city of Milwaukee EMTs and firefighters refuse to go on calls until the shooter is in custody, but I know that won't happen. Luckily the firefighter that was shot took a pretty superficial wound and is likely to make a full recovery. My thoughts are with him and his family.

From the article:
“We have started the process of potentially getting some sort of protective gear for them to be wearing,” Robakowski said.

How sad is that, that the people responding to save lives need to worry about their own?

When you continue to feed and care for the most indolent and useless in a society, instead of letting starvation and exposure either reduce their numbers or provide the appropriate incentives and lessons, you end up with these type of "people."
They have nothing to lose because they've never earned anything, and they have no morality because their culture promotes immature, self destructive, and illegal behavior.

I used parenthesis because they're not really people, they're feral humans. No more use than a feral dog or cat, and the only cure is the same. Put them all down, cull the herd.
We've created this mess, like it or not, now we have to fix it. It's never going to fix itself.

Here in Milwaukee, they certainly are. The shootings in the inner city are almost as bad as Chicago. The head judge (I forget his exact title) of Milwaukee County said that criminals are supposed to go on probation first instead of going to jail...so that is what the judges are doing and it is a revolving door. There was a murder last week here where the guy had 3 felony convictions but was on probation after serving no time...and he is 22 yrs old

Forest Gump said it best. Now, the administration is making heroes out of thugs, giving illegal alien criminals a get out of jail free card, condemning police for trying to control these cretins, and condoning destructive behavior to communities/businesses that have done nothing but house/serve these imbeciles. It's time to pull the plug on the wasted tax dollars and to turn out the lights on these cities that exhibit aberrant and criminal behavior. Human lives matter... feral and rabid animals need to be put down!

Here is a potential use for all those military vehicles that were being handed down. Paint them red, put a light bar on top, and use them as firefighter transport.

This is a bit more of an eccentric suggestion, but you could also give them guns with incendiary ammo to fight back against those shooting at them. If they start anything but their intended targets on fire, they are already there to put the flames out. :D:

As noted, this is nothing new. I believe the cause may be the rumor that the police routinely go into dangerous neighborhoods in ambulances and fire trucks dressed as EMTs or firefighters so they can 'sneak up' on the people they want to arrest, grab them, and hustle them away in ambulance or firetruck before anyone can stop them. This rumor seems to have some basis in fact:

As such, criminals and gang members will of course shoot at ANY interlopers moving into their territory, because they are all regarded as threats.
