Multiple folks shot, sounds like two dead. Shooter still on the loose. "Large shotgun". The story is still breaking.
Nope. Just some guesswork by officials involved so far.Anyone have any evidence yet proving the shooters AR-15 was obtained through a police officer that he had shot in the beginning of the ordeal?
The lib-tards are going to have a hard time selling more gun restrictions to the American people when he obtained the AR and the 9mm pistol off of wounded or dead armed security officers or police officers with a run of the mill shotgun (Joe Bidens favorite gun)."I was in the cafeteria, just paid for my breakfast," Patricia Ward said. "I was waiting for my friend to pay for hers when we heard the gunshot. It was three gunshots straight in a row, pop pop pop. Three seconds later, it was pop pop pop pop pop, so it was like about a total of seven gunshots, and we just started running."
When it was over, the suspected gunman lay dead amid an armload of weapons. Sources told News4 that surveillance footage showed that he began his attack with a shotgun, but was found with a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 assault rifle.
NBC News correspondent Pete Williams is reporting Alexis purchased a shotgun in Lorton, Va. during the past week or so.
The suspected gunman appeared to have seized firearms from two of his victims as he moved through the building along the Anacostia River in southeast Washington, where 3,000 Navy employees go to work each day, many of them carrying authorized firearms.
Next to Alexis's body was an ID of a man who used to work at the Navy Yard. Some investigators believe the suspected gunman used that ID to enter the area, which is accessible only through guarded gates, but he may also have shot his way in, Williams reported.
The pandemonium continued after the suspected gunman was killed, as authorities suspected that more than one gunman remained on the loose. Eight nearby schools were put on lockdown. And as of Monday evening, D.C.'s mayor still said investigators are examining whether there was another gunman at large.
Terrie Durham, a civilian employee in the Office of Naval Sea Systems Command, was looking for a way out and glimpsed the gunman down a hallway, about 40 feet away. He was wearing blue, a uniform, maybe, and held a rifle. He said nothing. Then he fired.
"He aimed high and missed," Durham said. "I saw where the shot missed. It was a few feet ahead of us and a foot or above where we would have been standing."
She took off into a stairwell, hollering, "There is a man shooting in the building, get out, get out!"
Multiple weapons
Survellance video shows the gunman entered the NAVSEA building, at 1336 Isaac Hull Ave., with a shotgun, law enforcement officials told News4's Jackie Bensen.
The suspected gunman shot a security officer in the head, killing him, and took the officer's 9 mm pistol and a magazine of ammunition. The shooter then continued through the building and seemed to target his victims, who were mostly on the third and fourth floors, Bensen reported.
D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies responded with active shooter teams.
During that response, a MPD officer was shot in the leg. The gunman was then shot by a FBI hostage response team, law enforcement sources told Bensen.
“The response by uniformed police officers from both the Metropolitan Police Department and United States Park Police was absolutely nothing short of heroic,” Lanier said.
Authorities are investigating whether the gunman took the D.C. police officers' rifle.

I'd hate to be this police officer
They vanished... like a fart in the wind!So now they are saying there was just 1 shooter. What happened to the other 2?
I have to say that something stinks in this whole thing. Just watching CBS special report and apparently no one has any info on this guy. They are saying he just came back from Thailand and was not aggressive, but at the same time we are seeing he had some kind of anger blackout in seattle in 2004....
The other thing that threw me off was that a witness claimed to have run out the doors into an alley and the guy who went with him took one to the head - but the rest of the report, says he was firing at the atrium inside - and where is shooter 2
I pointed to this in an earlier post....wondering why all of these shootings lately seem to have similar reports such as multiple shooters in military type attire and then it turns out to just be a lone gunman.I am not by any means a conspiracy theorist, however the multitude of precision distractions coming at the most opportune times, does make one wonder. God Bless the victims for they shall not be forsaken.
Being arrested does not equal guilt or conviction.Official: Suspected Navy Yard gunman purchased weapons legally, likely acted alone

How does a guy that has twice been arrested for crimes involving the firing of a weapon purchase a handgun and other weapons "legally"? He doesn't!
One of them turned out to be a guy in camo authorized to have a gun. (Imagine that... a guy in camo with a gun on a military base.)So now they are saying there was just 1 shooter. What happened to the other 2?
Heck, now days you never know who is who. The military branches all have 25 different uniforms in the name of service identity. On top of that, you can have contractors serving in security/police positions, which have their own uniform. Then you might have actual DOD civil service positions for security/police, which has a different uniform. One of them turned out to be a guy in camo authorized to have a gun. (Imagine that... a guy in camo with a gun on a military base.)
The other was probably a shot of the shooter looking a little different.
Here we go again.Full show of force today huh
Every cop had an ar15 with an eotech, body armor, helmets, tacticool gear and everything
Looking like they're ready to assault fallujah
Yes, it "can" depend on the level of clearance one has. My point was that being arrested, in almost every case, does not equal a conviction and in almost all cases will not void ones clearance. There are always circumstances where things are different but for the most part, no.It really depends on the level of clearance, the job you are being cleared for and the agency approving the clearance.
When I got mine they even interviewed old friends and relatives and my family were required to write statements about me. Now that's scary, as you have no idea what your family might say, being well meaning, that could be misconstrued.
My son's clearance for a local PD could have been declined for even traffic infractions.
So...it depends.
.
Most people have no idea what having a clearance involves. Hell, I have one and still have to refer to the FSO at times because the details of certain situations can be complicated.
Bottom line is that what I was referring to about merely being arrested and still keeping a clearance is not at all uncommon and nor should it be if that person is not proven guilty of anything. It does sometimes show a pattern of possible misconduct but that is up to the clearance investigator and the level being obtained.
(Mis)identifying another suspect as white was the media's attempt at "balanced" reporting. So now they are saying there was just 1 shooter. What happened to the other 2?
From what I understand "at this point" the two arrests never had charges pushed and therefore he was never accused of a crime which equals a clean record. As far as the negligent discharge.......C'mon people!! We all probably view ND's in the same light but that does not mean ones security clearance should be revoked. ND's/AD's happen and are by their very nature not purposeful. I do not feel that would have any bearing on a persons ability to keep secrets. None the less, if no criminal charges are fired, and AFAIK they were not, then he is in the clear for that.Okay, but do you have arrests for firing weapons at people & cars?
Did you get a dishonorable discharge from the military?
I don't think that's the case for you, but if I'm wrong this country is even more screwed up then I want to believe (no reflection on you - just the process).
Dishonorable Discharge? Have not heard this one yet but if true then IIRC he is not eligible for any type of clearance unless he receives a waiver from levels higher than I am familiar with. Now that I think about it, he does not have a dishonorable. They are reporting that he is Active Duty Reserve which means he is still in service.
My info may be dated since everything is moving so fast right now.
