I disagree with your ant-gun policy

I will not be a patron of your restaurant any longer.

Their Reply:

John,

Thanks for writing us to express your thoughts. We recognize that this is a very sensitive issue, and respect all sides of the debate. Historically we've never taken a stance on the issue of gun ownership or rights, as we are pretty focused on building burritos, and changing the way people think about and eat fast food.

That said, because of the discomfort around the recent demonstration in Texas, we are asking customers to not bring guns into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel. The vast majority of gun owners are responsible citizens and we appreciate them honoring this request.

The country is divided over this and many other issues, but our singular purpose is to serve our burritos in an environment in which our customers can feel good.

Sincerely,
Sarah

It is a form e-mail. That is the same response I just got.

I guess the money of those that do not 'feel good' is worthless to them. Oh well.

They were fine with t till dumbasses with guns started scaring away business.

Don't blame them a bit... They are in it to make money.

It's the ********** open carrier demonstraighters fault.

I've open carried in a couple states I didn't have a CCW in.

I was polite, dressed well, most likely thought I was a cop.
And I left my rifle IN THE CAR!

My reponse:

While I do understand your point, it does not make me 'feel good' to be disallowed the ability to defend myself while I am within one of your franchises. The Chipotle restaurant that is near me will get no more business, instead my money will be spent at establishments that do not require I remove my ability to defend myself.
Which is the truth. The one near me most likely will not have a sign up, since it is generally pretty rare in my area.

Lol Chipotle is American. In fact they serve like 5 countries but mexico is not one of them.

The beauty of the free market is that it will determine how this goes and not the government. Now they could get robbed, lose customers or both. Or they could gain market share with their new stance. Before they were neutral now they are firmly on the leftist side of the spectrum. So new potential customers to offset losses from gun right groups. All these things I'm confident were hashed over by upper management and accounting.

In their defense - Chipotle didn't have a problem with guns until those 2 losers came in brandishing an AK and AR .
Really , if you were in there with your family wouldn't you have been freaked out to see that pair of idiots come in packing like that ?

Yeah , so , open carry is legal but what those morons did was beyond stupid . Now they've caused problems for everyone because of their stupidity .

I don't like this "gun free zone" BS but I can understand Chipotle's reaction .

Seems like a pretty well reasoned response. It sucks that our fellow gun owners are shooting us in the foot like this. Money is always the bottom line in America and gun owners are a minority. Hopefully, our community will learn from this and not put other corporations in a place where they have to balance making money with politics.

Also, most of the gun stores I've been to prohibit people from bringing loaded guns inside unless the person has a CCW. So a bunch of dudes with loaded AR's and AK's wouldn't go very far there either.

My response, oh it's just a request...

To ensure we receive your response, please do not modify the subject line.

John,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about the presence of guns in our restaurants. We completely respect your feelings on this matter and understand that there are very strong arguments on both sides of this issue.

We understand the vast majority of gun owners are responsible citizens and follow local laws while carrying their firearms. We hope that those same citizens will understand how allowing guns within our restaurants could cause anxiety and concern for many customers and will honor our request to refrain from bringing their firearms into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel.

We're certainly sorry if this request has offended you in any way and appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Sincerely,

Frat rats? wouldn't pay attention as long as they were doing it peacefully.

I forget the name of that particular fraternity but we have a pretty good presence of them here, they were their gold boots everywhere and purple stuff.
Most of them are good kids, unlike gang banger street trash.
