They are awesome, but they have really toned down their criticism of Obama after they were thrown off the ait in Houston for their pro gun arguments following the Sandy Hook event. They are still on AM radio in Houston, but lost their FM broadcast.
I call them Waldon and Johnson lite now.

106.3 is the other classic rock station from Arklatex that I like a lot better but it doesn't come in very well. Latin, country and hip hop stations often step over it. I've currently got a complaint in with the FCC. I've already talked to them once, they are still working it.

 

Been listening to W&J since the early 90's out of New Orleans but I like John Boy and Billy too...The haw-hawing gets a bit old but they sure aren't politically correct

 

Radio is a strange bedfellow. I was in the industry for 15+ years and the politics in stations still confuses me. These two are on mostly stations owned and controlled by iHeartradio (formerly known as Clear Channel). Media today, including radio, is all controlled by big business. The thought of radio being for "the people" went out the window years ago. From experience let me just tell you that EVERYTHING you hear on the radio is fake (contests, requests, opinions). Nothing gets on the air without being what "they" want you to hear.
