Are you a veteran?

Glorifying murder,is not being objective,ask the victims,Jews,etc.
If it was your family member was a victim, how would you feel?
As a matter of fact I am.

And as far as glorifying? Where did you come up with that? If you had read my earlier post I was not glorifying anything in any way shape or form. But had you read what I said you would know that.

Learning from situations is the key to growth.

A vast majority of the tank tactics I learned in tank school in Fort Knox where strait from the Germans during WW2. Regardless of your feelings of the German Panzer divisions you cant dismiss the brilliance of there tactics. The literally changed the face of tank battle for ever.

The best way to defeat your enemy is to observe and learn from them. Without adaptation (ie; learning from others mistakes) our species would not exist.

I'm pretty sure Richard Jewell did not find the pipe bomb. He was accused of being the bomber, and was treated like a convict for the bombing before any real investigation was ever started, based on the fact that he had all the components of a pipe bomb maker in his home. Lets face it, most of us do, particularly if you deer hunt.
It does well demonstrate just how quickly one can be tried in the court of public opinion though.

Well I for one am glad they got the bastard.I live 15-20 miles from where he was the whole time.Survivalist extreme? hell no! he went from friend to friend and all his relatives. The Super feds looking for him, well they came to town, all went to the same store, bought the same clothes, boots etc.ride around then rotate out and do the same thing all over again. (that store in Warne N.C.made a bundle off the government) I had agents ask to see in the trunk of my car to make sure he had not crawled in there over at wal-mart in Murphy N.C.(I was driving a mustang gt at the time). The feds drove around north Carolina and N.Ga with dogs in the cars to see if they got a whiff of him. Can a dog smell Good enough to tell if an individual drove a car down a certain road 2 months ago? Also glad all the news trucks are gone too.( why do they always find the village idiot to talk to.)Shame he didn't resist arrest and save the tax payers some money. But that's just my opinion.

There is no way he should have been able to avoid good trackers. He had help or they weren't looking as hard as they say.
you would get on his track and then all of a sudden you had 100's of people comeing into the area searching for him and that would alert him to tracker's in the area ..

alot of people never knew this part the people at the lower level where allways beening riden by the upper level to produce him in a so many hour's instead of letting them work the area and search and do a low tech of following the tracks out ..

there was allways the upper level personal flooding the area with personal and then he would vanish into the track's that they left ..

a few tracker's teams left over haveing to work like that with the FBI and it got to a point towards the end where they where alot of infighting inside the two groups over how the people where trying to find him workedand it show in there performace in the field ..

the upper level personal never understand the basic fact that it take's time to run down a track to a point to figure out where it went or if it was him or not because they allways want you to produce in a couple of hour's or less if the track was his or not ..

plus there was this little know fact that some of the local's out in the woods where he had been seen makeing tracks to **** off the upper level FBI personal over how they where treated by them dureing the first couple of years beening up in the area ..

there was a couple of time's he just vanished into thin air on a couple of hunt's for him and i do belive that someone picked him up and moved him to a safe spot and helping with food supplies and other items to keep on the move ..

Finding interest in the unibomber doesn't mean you support his means. Just like shopping at walmart doesn't mean you support communism.

I think things can be learned from him, both good and bad. He was a murder and wanted by the Feds, but who knows? Maybe one day any of us could be wanted by the Feds for an act of defending your family or property. Gotta keep this stuff from being unpersonal by getting offended.

Someone bring out the peace pipe and let's all take a puff! :p

Who cares?Your superior intellect is too much for me,i have trouble driving a truck and you drove a TANK,WOW!
I'm not sure where you are coming from with all of this misplace masculine aggression and hostility. This is not a penis measuring contest here guy, we are discussing the merits of knowledge gleaned from others mistakes and successes. If you can not open your eyes to it then that is a shame, I suppose that leaves more learning and growing for the rest of us. :thumb:

Don't abuse the veteran card!

Yes! I am a veteran and I find value in understanding my enemies, my allies and people in various situations.

If people who worshipped a blue-goat-god killed half my family with a puppy-chow bomb I would be very sad. But then instead of wrapping myself in a flag I would research the religion/cause/ ideology and all aspects of puppy-chow bombs.

Bob, I've had you on my Ignore for a long time. You know this. Yet you always respond to my posts or threads taking the other side. No matter how ridiculous it is, you take the opposing side.

I have never EVER posted on ANY thread you have made.

Why are you doing this?

No,sorry:thumb:
That's obvious.

Instead of going with an adage like "Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it" you follow the "If I don't like something, then no useful information can be gleaned from it and I will avoid it at all cost" line of thinking.

You would have been a great General. I'm sure you would have had much success NOT studying your enemy and just guessing as to how said enemy might engage your forces.

General Bobzilla: "Enemy order of battle? Nah. I don't agree with my enemy, so why do I care how many divisions they have and where they are located? CHARGE!!!"
