Prepping for a radicalized political environment

I have noticed a disturbing trend since the November 2016 election.

It is the emergence of an increasingly radicalized and prone-to-violence Left in America. It seems that the election of Donald Trump--regardless of whether you are for him or not---has aroused an unprecedented level of fury in the Left.

I am old enough to remember the turmoil of the 1960's, the war protests, riots, etc. But what I see now far surpasses anything that happened back then. Rather than mere political disagreements, I am now seeing a demonization of conservative and even moderate persons, because of their political beliefs.

It's remarkably similar to what was happening in Germany, immediately prior to the rise of Hitler. No longer was it merely people marching and carrying signs, but they had regular pitched battles in the streets of Berlin.

Some of the actions of Antifa, and many of the utterances of such groups as Black Lives Matter, go way beyond political posturing. They increasingly advocate not merely disagreement, but outright destruction of those who oppose them.

Much "prepping" is based on the assumption of disasters such as asteroid strikes, supervolcanoes, epidemics, and even EMPs.

But how do you, as a prepper, prepare to survive in a country where political radicalization has taken hold? A world where a neighbor a co-worker or merely someone you meet on the street, suspects or accuses you of being "the other". And hence you are suddenly viewed as someone who is "evil", who must be destroyed and/or silenced.

What do you do when you live in a country, where large segments of the media wage a deliberate campaign to stir-up resentment against you? Where you are---at best--depicted as a "deplorable" and misguided, and should be marginalized. Or at worst--an evil element that must be re-educated or even "eliminated".

Just read some op-eds, from major news outlets, or watch some videos on the Internet. This exact thing is happening here and now. Do a search for the many incidents in our universities. Which should be bastions of free speech and exchange of ideas. Where a student or teacher has in effect been "silenced", for expressing a political viewpoint that runs counter to the party line.

Living in a society where supporting an elected president, opposing the destruction of statues and monuments, trying to run an honest business, or expressing patriotism. Could result in retaliation in the middle of the night. And not from the police or the government per se, but from self-appointed vigilantes who hate both you and your ideas?

How do you prepare for that?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Amen to that. Our county seat is 2500 population. (The whole county is only 15,000.) Nearest gas station is a tiny general store in the village - population 173 souls, takes me fifteen minutes to drive there. I've been here nine years, and I expect I'll still be "that outsider" until after I die. Not that people are unfriendly, it"s just that they all know who belongs and who doesn't. And they'll clean up after themselves, thanks for asking.

Police? Well, there's the sheriff. Second year I was here he bought a Ruger 10/22 from me. Wanted one for coon hunting. Real decent guy, or he wouldn't keep getting elected. If there's going to be any "police riots" around here they'll have import the players.

This is the kind of place I wanted since I left home in 1965, and I've got it, at long last.

I'd worry much more about the Democratic Party, the liberal and anti-American media, and MANY in government who embrace this leftist madness. Consider that about half the country are either brainwashed, depend on government in some way, or view themselves as victims. Many hate capitalism and view white people as the proximate cause of their failures and incompetence. You really can't fix stupid but you can prep for it. Stupid is coming and based on the latest revelations from the Russian/Trump collusion fiasco, it looks like the only thing that can save leftists, socialists, communists, and even the Democratic Party is ignorant and angry people who still believe what their liberal "leaders" and role models are telling them.

There's a relatively small number of truly dangerous people in this country but sadly, they hold high positions in government, in politics, in the media, in academia and in the leisure suit liberal costal communities. Alone, they can't do much but if you believe in idiocracy, like I do, you can see how this is all unfolding. Don't mistake the hatred for Trump for the true hatred of all things American. I do think we are coming to the end of the road and the only thing that can save us is massive jailing and firing of everything associated with Obama and Clinton and their deep state. Other than that, the sheeple and gruberites will still follow their corrupt and America hating "leaders." #Stupid votes matter.

I've read several article speculating on "The Coming Civil War", but I don't see it happening. Even in liberal enclaves like both coasts, there are enough non-liberals mixed in to keep violence from becoming a regional thing.

Groups like Antifa and BLM are radical, but small in numbers. They make big headlines, but they're not of any real threat to anyone other than the unlucky few who become their victims.

Of course, I'm saying that from the safety of the Ozarks, where it's more than unlikely leftist radicals are going to say boo lest someone yell "Hey Jake, get your backhoe."

Antifa and BLM have caused millions of dollars worth of damage and its unknown how many people they've hurt but never do I hear of one of them being arrested and convicted. There are videos of them beating people and the cops standing are there watching the non-liberals get their heads bashed in???

just look at the guilty until proven innocent thing that is going on right now with the UnAmericans. If they say you are a rapist a molester a racist a sexist or a whatever viola you are. No investigation, no trial nothing judge you and condemn you.
It does bother me, I am retired so I don't have as much contact with the public as I used to but it makes me hesitant to even talk to people.

I think civil war in inevitable.

I don’t think antifa or BLM will be major players, they are a joke. (maybe the other “BLM” though)

The civil war will be on many fronts, and for many reasons. Something will kick it off, a riot in a big city, an economic collapse, attempt at gun control that finally pushes people too far, something. There will be a incident, and that will inspire one of the other factions of our rapidly Balkanizeing country to decide they’ve also had enough, and one after another this whole psychotic family we call the US will tear itself apart. Some for race, some for money, land, religion, boredom, countless reasons. Everyone wants it, all it will take is an excuse.

How do you prepare for it? Depends on if you have a cause you plan to fight for or if you just want to survive.

If you have a cause..well, join up. Probably at least a hundred armed factions who are preparing for war in this country. Find the one you like and start training.

If you don’t want to fight but just survive? Finding another country would probably be your best bet...and barring that, standard prepper methods.

I agree except for finding another country. IF anyone can tell me what country is better than the USA I would like to know. Not all of the USA since I would not want to live in, much less even visit much of the USA. Almost all big cities especially are not good, for me anyway.
I have thought of Canada but too cold and too socialist. Any other country anyone mentions also will not be considered by me for various reasons. Mainly because I have my best place in this world that I know about that I suppose I have mentioned too often.

I am thinking more and more that a civil war or at Least a police state is inevitable here in the USA. Most affected would be big cities. Least affected low population areas. I won't name those since they should not be too difficult to find. I am trying to move permanently to my very low population, very remote BOL area this summer. In Wyoming but that is another long story which I might tell about with pics, video etc. someday.

For years I thought a nuclear war was going to happen anytime. Not so sure now although possibly a small nuke on some city or cities. Probably by terrorists or something like that. But I was driving around a remote area near the WY - CO border and saw a missile site. The highway I was on had several minuteman missile sites. I don't like the area but not much choice right now until May or June.

Anyway, this was just a couple weeks ago when I saw at this one missile site 7 Humvees, another large military truck and some other guys on top of the missile site. I really wanted to stop and ask them what is going on. But they are not the kind to ask questions about what they are doing. I also wanted to take a pic but I thought it most wise to just keep driving at 60 miles per hour on past them.

About 7 hours later I was driving back after getting supplies at this one small town and they were still on the missile site although getting ready to leave. First time I have ever seen military at a remote missile site and some of my cousins also who live in the area for the past forty or so years also never have seen military at those sites. This is the first and maybe only time I will post about that....

It really doesn't matter the political viewpoint of any actors in this type of situation. The reality is that people who are comfortable are far less apt to commit random violence, those that are not comfortable are more apt. People are getting uncomfortable in larger numbers and I don't see it reducing as long as income disparity keeps widening.

In regards to the actual question on how do we prepare for it.

Move away from people. Every mile you distance yourself from an uprising population reduces your chances of being caught in the violence. If you have to be around people, try to choose a place where the people are like minded or you've at least distanced yourself from people who would be the most likely to be 'uncomfortable'.

While looking for a suitable BoL, one of the first questions I ask myself is "how easy is it for me to get to? and how motivated would someone be to come down this way?". If the property is within walking distance to a store, it's off the list. If it's between a possible destination of people (Wal-Mart distribution center, hospital, etc) and a place where people reside (apartments, subdivisions, etc) - is it far enough off the route that it won't be a stopping point for someone going there to 'raid' the place?

OP misremembers the 1960's. The violence levels back then, on the Left AND Right, dwarfs what we have now. On the left there were so many bombs going off in major cities, buildings being burned, and buildings, especially campus administration halls, being occupied, the nightly news didn't even bother to mention them. And newspapers just focused on local events. On the right Bull Conner was attacking peaceful protesters with dogs while klansmen murdered and intimidated civil rights workers, and hardhats beat up hippies just because.

What is freaking the Right out now is, after all these years of constantly screaming that if they couldn't get their way through the ballot box or jury box they'd use the ammo box, they're hearing the Left saying it, too. And THAT scares them. And the more their fear and rage causes them to act violently, as at Charlottesville, the more the Left does the same.

So far the violence doesn't match the 60's. But if this constant escalation on both sides continues, we may get there.

As I keep saying, talking sense just SCARES the people on this board who aren't used to it. :(

Even though they are stupid the SJW have learned that bongs and dildos aren't effective weapons. My take is street crime hasn't changed that much for guys but if you happen to wear a dress and are out alone then the new imported goat ****ers might just become an issue.

It was 4 dead in Ohio. In the Ford riots people were killed. Same for some steel mill riots. Here is a list of civil un-rest for America https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incidents_of_civil_unrest_in_the_United_States

Learn to take care of yourself. Calling 911 means they will get there in time to put a chalk line around your body and take a nice picture for the inquest.

Make no mistake the NWO wants you dead. If they can CON or import someone to do it for them so much the better. Besides that they poison the food, water, air, medication, and electronic spectrum to help kill you off or dumb you down so you just sit on the couch and let it happen.

Good thread subject. The first thing is if real political radicalisation has taken hold, aka the majority of the population, you are basically ****ed. Choose between becoming a rebel, hermit or joining them basically.

If its just starting, transitional, or government funded division( which I believe it is), the good news is while its startling, dissappointing, the fight still isn't over yet. There is also the (verysmall chance its a passing fad.

There is a crazy group out there for every possible subject. Sociologists who write a book about how all kids should be taken away from their parents, flat earthers, the lizard believers etc. You never hear from fruitcakes until they are selected for large private or government funding and given a set of directions. Then they become a market presence and professionally organised at multiple levels( the dumb kids swinging flagpoles are the cheapest muscle), Some consolation is despite their noise they don't represent majority thought, they are built up to create a magnified presence for someone's goals.

The issue is this can often be to enrage another group or a majority into performing actions they would previously consider disasteful. Invasions, social cleansing or large social corrections historically. The whole 'angry left' thing, and the fact we are even being split into political identities again(The involvement of media and educational institutions and classic left and right- with a precise list of issues and policies for each group) stinks to high heaven to me. Of course I spent a lot of time in the 3rd world watching governments muck their people around and my tin foil is a lot tighter than it used to be.

My prep for any of the above is basic prep we discuss here. High level finances buy the ability to avoid a lot of the crap, going off what I saw in the 2nd and 3rd world. While most of us can't achieve that, then the most financial security and non-indebtedness you can manage,, highly useful professions or skillsets regardless whoever gets control, getting your kids educated with similar useful( non fluffy) degrees, trades or skillets, networks of intelligent people , moving to locations where you feel the trouble will least affect you. For those who can, the ability for remote, offgrid or independant living.

#11 ·
It's easy to advocate self-sustaining, off-grid, and remote living...it's much harder to practice it and it often takes a life-long struggle to achieve it. So, I'll focus on the younger generation that most likely lives closer or in the larger metropolitan areas.

My daughter went down the road of the left, hating Trump, capitalism, conservatism, anything religious, and even marching in the gay-pride parades. She was young (still is), but times have changed. She's been working hard, she's engaged, and her focus is more on establishing a future instead of whining about the present. What is common among the younger adults from before? They were often unemployed (or underemployed), had school debt with a useless degree, free-time spent on unrelenting anti-American social media/MSM, and buying in to all the victimization accusations. She's now on a much better (and more difficult) path, but her head is screwed on a little better.

My son, now 19 years old, is in the National Guard, attending college with a three-year ROTC Scholarship that kicks in next year and is on the right side of conservative. This is also a concern, even though I lean conservative, any politician will become the antithesis of liberty if they remain in public office long enough. We can all agree that the Left has redefined fascism and for lack of better terms have become, the enemies of the state or as my Oath would state "enemies foreign and DOMESTIC". I fear the agenda of the Deep State, it's not like most politicians who just want to remain status-quo and stay in power...there is a dangerous move to destroy our country, and those groups such as Antifa and BLM are just pawns and tools of the Deep State.

So, how to prepare if you can't just pick up and move to an off-grid, remote area? Keep a low profile, avoid being downtown (in any town) after dark, and avoid crowds and protests (most are advertised before kicking off). Now is the time to practice "gray-man". I beat my son up about wearing his "advertisement" shirts and hats when downtown. Be non-descript, invisible. These left groups are just looking for an excuse, any excuse to lash out. I'm all for standing up for what I believe in, but it's foolish to invite conflict with the ignorant tools of a Deep State agenda.

Have enough stock on hand to stay low if riots or protests occur; better yet, schedule a last-minute vacation to get out of town. Always be ready to bugout. The current method of operation is to destroy businesses and engage in conflicts with opposing protestors or police; next we'll see forays into neighborhoods that are perceived as "privileged" and once the fires start raging, everyone is at risk.

For those who haven't unplugged from society completely, keep voting against the most dangerous political party, right now it's the Left. Ironically, you almost need a police-state to shut down anti-American groups...and then you face a different threat. It's all a pendulum, and we just need to keep it from swinging to far to the extremes and tolerate the crap in-between.

"Better" is pretty subjective...but I would say if your primarily concerned with civil war there are many countries that are less likely to experience it than the US. Of course, stable countries may not be ones you actually want to live in, but plenty of them out there.

I am thinking more and more that a civil war or at Least a police state is inevitable here in the USA
The attempt is inevitable....I don't think the success of such is likely. The US has the best trained, armed, supplied and most populous insurgent population in the world. Anyone would be a fool to attempt it in the US...but that was true of many other quagmire wars and it never stopped our government from trying it before.

I think a police state / martial law is likely in at least some big cities. And many who are well armed might be afraid to use their guns etc. from fear, apathy and such but if it is inevitable then I do hope to see it. Likely not be in it but watch from a remote area where trouble is not too likely. There might be a few who do try to give me and mine some trouble but they will regret doing that.

1) Do not fight the big battles on the street. Use the ballot box.

2) Evaluate your residence. Make it as secure as you can, including a good armored hiding spot, and a very good concealed exit.

3) Have both a NOAA Weather Radio with S.A.M.E. All Hazards Alert or a good NOAA Weather Radio App on you phone that supports the All Hazards warnings. Have one in alarm mode all the time to listen for not only weather alerts, but other major event alerts.

4) Have VHF/UHF scanner that will pick up as many of the local, county, state, and federal government agencies as possible in your home and one in your vehicle if legal. Monitor them all the time to listen for trouble.

5) Get maps of the area and drive around now, when it is safe, and look for potential trouble spots. Mark them on the map. Keep one in the vehicles and one at home for easy reference.

6) Plan your activities for the next day, every evening of the day before. Check the map, and make sure your routes avoid the know possible trouble spots. Check the local morning news, and keep a good ear on the scanner for any communications that even hint at an operation being set up.

7) Keep a gray-person kit in every vehicle, with several role-camouflage sets of clothing and gear. At least one set should be all cotton, all wool, or a combination with absolutely no synthetics that cover everyone from neck to ankles.

8) If you park near where you work, or are going to be going, keep a bag with a set of hiking boots (if you are not already wearing them), a plain bicycle helmet with as few vents in it as possible (you do not need to worry too much about overheating pedaling a bike), a pair of swim or racket sports goggles, an N-95 (at the least) dust mask or twelve, a small container of apple cider vinegar and one of lemon juice, have a nondescript back pack with two large or coffee table books, one up against the back of the pack (the part against your body) and the other accessible to stuff in your shirt or jacket, four 500ml or larger bottles of water, two large all cotton bandannas, a map with the trouble spots and safe places you can get to on foot. A headlamp with red and/or blue and/or green LED light as well as white. A high output flashlight with strobe function, a pint or more of powdered bentonite if you can find it, flour if you cannot.

9) If things look to be heating up, if you hear anything unusual on the scanner, if there is talk at work, at the store, at a coffee shop, at the park, anywhere you frequent, that sounds at all like something might be going on, or is planned, then make note of it, get your business done, and get home as soon as you can, checking local broadcasts and the scanner regularly for any sign of trouble. If you can pinpoint something, avoid it and go home.

10) When you know that it is dangerous out, do not go out, especially at night, unless it is mandatory. If possible, try to group together, in two vehicles, either family or friends, neighbors, co-workers, or whatever. Try to have two people per vehicle, but no more. If you lose one vehicle, you want the room for the other two people.

11) If you are going out, do the same things you would do going on a camping trip. Someone should know when you are leaving, where you are going, the route you are taking, and the time you expect to be back. If any of that changes while on the trip, notify the person. Keep them updated with that information, and if trouble starts, get them, or someone else on the cell phone if it is still possible, and keep up a running description of what is going on, where you are, any fires, police actions, riot groups, anything and everything that might help your family/friends get to you if they lose contact.

12) Maintain a very low profile, but do not go to extremes from what you normally do. Tone down things, but do not dress like a bum to go to work, unless that is absolutely necessary. Curtail evening entertainment, especially that where you need to dress up significant. Definitely no flashy jewelry, watches, fur coats, tuxedos, sky-high heels, fancy or designer purses or shoes, including whatever the fashionable sports shoes happen to be.

13) No sports logos, no political logos, no company logos, no logos, period, not even the clothing company one. Take them off if you must wear that clothing, and add Velcro to the item and the logo and reattach when you get where you are going that is safe. People, including co-workers will start to take note of what you wear when things get tense, and if 'they' are on 'the other side' of what you are wearing, they will remember, and you are now a target that might try do attack, or pass on to the 'muscle' of their group, or simply make a comment about you and your beliefs based on the logos, and that person decides to 'make a stance for the cause' by beating you senseless or to death for wearing a Raiders cap.

All the main items to have ready or do to avoid things, that I can think of off the top of my head.

If you do get caught out and about, in the middle of something, if that something catches up with you, if that something starts where you are:

1) Immediately move in the direction your situational awareness has already indicated would be the best way to leave the area. Calmly, without showing any signs of distress. If you can get out of sight without being involved, take a round-about way home or to your vehicle and get home.

2) If you cannot get out of the situation, try to get to your vehicle(s), if you are not already in them. If there are two of you in the vehicle, one gets what ever the situation calls for ready. If you are traveling in two or more vehicles, space them a bit less than a vehicle length apart, and close up if people start surrounding them. Whichever vehicle has the best chance of getting out of the mess should be used for everyone, leaving one behind as a sacrifice to keep the crowd busy. Since you WILL have additional sets of keys, use the plain key in the ignition, and when you get out, make sure people see it in your hand, and throw it as far as you can. As some people run for it, get in the other vehicle, and if it can make its way out, do so. If not:

3) If you are in the vehicle, and you cannot move it without doing unjustified harm (the courts definition, not yours), you have to make the choice to stay or try to get away on foot. If things are moving fast and the people will be gone with just a few minutes, stay. If they are going to be there awhile, you may want to leave. And if they are trying to tip the vehicle, or are trying to break into it, or break the windows, you will need to leave. You should have decided already which side to get out of. Everyone goes out the same side, same door if it is a two door and there are four of you. By now you should all have on the helmets, goggles, face mask, and have the back packs ready. If you can, stuff one of the books in the front of a shirt or jacket, and be ready to don the back pack as soon as you exit the vehicle. Work your way the best you can, toward the side of the crowd, at an angle. If it looks like to the rear of the crowd might be better, head that way, but do not block anyone with the crowd. They will not take kindly to it. Once out of the crowd, decide to try and retrieve the vehicles, or head for home, on foot, or call someone you know. No public transport. No cabs, Lyft, or Uber. Too dangerous. NO SUBWAY.

4) If the police are around, be ready for teargas, pepper spray, rubber bullets, truncheons, lead gloves, shield impacts, dog attacks, high velocity/high volume water sprays, and the like. Try to keep your back to the police if they are aggressive. That way the big book in the back pack can take the blows from rubber bullets, and tear gas shells. Helmet will help with head blows. If need be, pour some apple cider vinegar or lemon juice on the mask and try to breathe through it. It will help with the teargas and pepper spray. Goggles will protect the eyes, unless some gets through any venting system. If you have to face the police part of the time, try to keep the big book centered on your chest to protect it from impact. Guys, and women to an extend, may want to protect their crotches, as well. If the city uses canines much have a couple of old, thick towels in the vehicle or back pack. Wrap one securely around whichever arm that is least likely to hamper your activities if bitten. Keep it toward the dog(s). Let them bite into it. You might have to cover your crotch, as some go for that target. Try to get out of the area. If you can, cross under barriers, or over them, but not if they are manned and you will be beaten back. If you are detained, I think most of you probably know the drill. Have your ID. If you are arrested, or detained for cause, you pretty much do have to show it. Have your civil rights attorney's number on you, and call him/her first chance you have. They will probably take your phone, so if you think you will likely be detained, call him/her as soon as possible, and keep him/her on the line as you are detained, until they take your phone. No pictures, no video. It will draw very negative reactions. Do your protesting in court and at the ballet box. Not on the street, and especially not when detained. Shut up!

It is late, and I am tired. If I think of additional information in the next couple of days, I will add it. But for the moment, this is:

Just my opinion.

Ya'll want to see and American version of Venezuela? Watch New Mexico over the next two years.
Like CO in many ways, we have not only leaned left, but tipped over on our side.

Now I point this out because
1: Where is Antifa?
2: Where is BLM?
3: Where is OWS?

All three were made up and convoluted BS movements that were wholly contrived.
Anyone remember the "Coffee Party"?

The TP is still around albeit not very prominent.

So the riot thing is more of a contrived load of BS. if anyone remembers, that the big story during Clinton's Years was the guns.
Under Bush the lesser, Iraq. Under BO it was a continuous beratment of the US.

I don't see the anger except in contrived and highly controlled environments.

But I made the first point to saddle what a previous posted stated that most of this is politically created and politically driven by the various parties and not an organic growth.

I cannot think of any country I even want to visit much less live in even if nothing bad ever happens.
Eh, I like new places, if I had the money I would visit just about every country.

As for police states cities....sure, heck, its already happening. I generally don't worry too much about that though, the cites and their populations want to live that way. Voluntary police states for police state lovers don't worry me.

Its when they will invariably decide to 'pacify' the countryside that I worry about.

Honestly, if you had asked me about the future a bit more than a year ago I would have told you I didn't think I would live this long. I expected that I would get taken out in a drone strike on some mountainside in Idaho or something by now.

When it comes to my prepping, its for collapse....when it comes to the civil war, its not about survival as much as it is making the war so costly for the other sides they lose heart for it. I don't have to live through that...."All men die....etc"

I don't see the anger except in contrived and highly controlled environments.
How does that saying go? "The revolution will not be televised?"

There is real anger everywhere...but its not under some handy acronym....like you say...those are just contrived.

How does that saying go? "The revolution will not be televised?"

There is real anger everywhere...but its not under some handy acronym....like you say...those are just contrived.
Radio may make a comeback to keep in touch. TV, and internet will be shut down. Then what...people will be lost.

Can you imagine back in Washington's day? No cars, no communications other than Paul Revere...unbelievable that we beat a super power like England in our backwards state of being.

The ballot box is almost ineffective, almost anyone can vote and often more than more once. Sadly the answer will be found in the cartridge box. Every civilization that has existed has failed or had multiple revolutions, ours will be no different - we are people just like those before that suffer the same human weakness of: greed, corruption, love of money, sex, power ....

You may be correct about the ballot box, but we have to keep trying. We have been shafted in so many ways, it seems insurmountable, but we have to try!!

Come the Census of 2020, California will most likely get more representatives and Electoral College votes due to the Census counting Illegals the same as Citizens. We need a momentous campaign to deport ALL Illegals. Starting with criminals, and any that display a Mexican flag on our soil. But, they ALL have to go. That would cut the Left's base by at least 30%, and we would again have a chance at the ballot box.

Unfortunately, the courts will probably be against us.

All I am going to say is this:

Stop thinking of politics in terms of Left and Right. That is exactly what the people who are REALLY in charge want; division.

As long as they can keep the people ****ed at each other, they will never have to worry about the people turning on them.

The OP reads like a fear monger; violence can come from the Right, up down, or anywhere. Just because someone disagrees politically does not mean they are the enemy. The photos in the original post are known to be a staged one, a photo shopped one, and a news one out of context. All carefully chosen to make the Left look like evil forces.

So long as we focus our ire on each other, the people really responsible for all this get a free pass. Keep your mind clear and your anger targeted at the correct bullseye.

The point I wanted to make in my original post: is that the Left has become increasingly radicalized since the 2016 election.

It is true that violence can come from either side of the political spectrum. But in my post I am singling out the Left, for the reason I mention above.

We have had highly-charged elections in the past. But after the results came in, most Americans accepted the results of the election.

But with the election of 2016, the exact opposite has happened. We have seen ominous and disturbing developements that undermine the very concept of our democracy.

Look at the crowds marching---weeks after the election--rioting and proclaiming "not my president!"

The attempts to influence Electors to change their votes. The demonization of large sections of the electorate as "deplorables". The denigration of the Red states and the people in them. The instant condemnations of anyone who doesn't toe the Leftist-Liberal party line, as racists, bigots, hate-filled. Not deserving of respect or even holding legitimate views. Groups like BLM attempting to stir-up racial hatreds.

As for my pictures, they were NOT "deliberately chosen to make the Left look bad". They were pictures that show the violence of groups such as Antifa.

I do not overly worry about any "political" violence, as I do not attend political rallies. I watch and "worry" about supply availability. Only when food, fuel and meds become scarce - I mean scarce, not available in stores, the shelves are just bare - does violence really begin to flow out beyond the rally zones. Some of the riots in cities have [in reality] been minor and temporary events. They may have sucked for those affected, by they are/were not precursors to more general and encompassing upheaval. That only comes when people do not have enough food and such.

Watch for that.

Stand up.
Somebody disrespects the flag/Country/vets in front of you? Stand up.

I fly an American flag. Somebody decides its offensive and wants to take it down and burn it, you can probably guess what will happen. (somebody gonna kiss the donkey, LOL)

Silence equals consent. For far too long people have 'taken it' and remained silent in the hopes the other side will dry up and blow away. I have two words;
NO MORE.

#29 ·
Want to give your post "2 thumbs up!"

I agree that it takes people to stand-up to these people.

However look at what happened at Berkeley. When the patriot protesters tried to stop burning of the flag, the police stood-by while the protesters clubbed and kicked the patriots.

This incident perfectly illustrates the disturbing new trend I mention in my OP. How does one deal with that situation?

The bought and paid for fake news brainwashed the mommy and daddy basement dwellers into believing that Trump is evil and hitlary should've won.

In a nutshell, the fake media has a major case of butt hurt because their prediction for 2016 presidential election was so far off that they are rallying useful idiots to distract from their massive presidential prediction failure...

The DCriminals are fighting tooth and nail because Trump cannot be bought nor blackmailed which is the communists worst nightmare, so the snakes are spitting venom as they get sucked into the swirling drain...

I wouldn't worry about the mommy and daddy basement dwellers too much, its the communists in the District of Criminals that are the real danger to America...

The end result is they will spend the next 7 years trying to get rid of Trump on the fake "Russians did it" platform and not accomplish anything worth a hill of beans...

It's through the basement dwellers (or the useful idiots) that the DC types get into power. As discussed in another thread (Liberals and Cities), the urban population is expected to keep growing, while the rural continues to decline. 2016's election depended on the Electoral College's check-and-balance against the simple majority -- which, even back in the late 1700s favored the cities.

But, as the population of the urban areas increases, there'll come a tipping point at which the Electoral College counterweight won't be enough. After all, Obama floated into victory with vague promises of hope and niceness. We all saw how that really played out. It can happen again.

Once they have their power, they don't have to storm your compound to confiscate your guns. They don't want to waste themselves in Waco-style messes. They'll just declare them illegal and offer cash rewards for snitches to rat you out. They'll declare that any food supply greater than 3-days is "hoarding" and confiscate it. Etc. etc.

It will more a matter of slow-boiled frog than Bastille.

The liberal cult has herded its cattle progressively into the realm of a fantasy world called liberalism. Since the progression has been more or less gradual those in the herd barely see any movement, but those not in the herd, that is, those who have not succumbed to liberal indoctrination, have remained in the same place, which is a place called reality. This has gone on for a few generations, so the movement has gone far. And that's why there's such a massive divide between liberals and loyal Americans.

The liberal cult has its own culture and its own ideology, both of which are foreign to America and inconsistent with American law. Liberals and loyal Americans have no common ground, and will not long be able to live in peace in the same nation. A liberal is to a loyal American what a Klansman is to a civil rights advocate.

The herd made substantial progress under Obama, and expected a Hillary presidency to move America the rest of the way to the liberal utopia they have been promised. But instead of Hillary a patriot was elected, and he was elected because he promised to stop and turn back the progression of liberalism. And he's trying to keep that promise.

That's why the liberal cattle herd is so upset now, and why parts of the herd stampede now and then. The liberal press increases the anger of the cattle by waging some of the most blatant and hateful big lie campaigns the world has seen since the time of the Nazis.

I don't see any way this situation can do anything but get worse. And with liberal cattle showing how willing they are to use violence, I think we will be seeing more of that. Remember what Obama's buddy and liberal icon Bill Ayers is best known for: making bombs. And he and many others like him have been indoctrinating kids in colleges for a generation. So I think a time might very well come when the violence we are seeing now becomes extreme and massive.

Remember in the movie Last of the Mohicans there is a big battle scene where a column of British soldiers gets caught out in a valley with a massive number of indians hiding in the woods. The first hint the British have that something is about to happen is a couple of individual indians come running out of the woods and kill as many soldiers as they can. Then they hear a loud roar of war cries coming from the trees. And then all of a sudden they are hit with a massive musket volley, and after they waste their volley a huge mass of indians comes flooding down on them and overwhelms them. This is a good metaphor of what we might be seeing now with liberal violence. Except that I think patriots will do a much better job of repelling the liberal onslaught.

I suggest that patriots get organized and prepared (if they have not already done that). And the preparation should include making lists of known liberal operatives, such as media propagandists and those who take part in the mass indoctrination of students, as well as members of various liberal gangs like Antifa. If a big fight does start it is likely to escalate and could become full scale war quickly, because everything needed for that to happen is already in place, like a pile of fuel and tinder just waiting for a match to be lit. And it will not be anywhere close to a conventional war.

The modern left depends on government funded programs for most of their power. Really they always have.

This is why "Chuck You" Schumer was so eager to agree to the last budget deal, they essentially paid him off with our cash, pure and simple.

In addition to defunding the left, we can do things like making Unions open their books to their members and the public. Teacher tenure and government Unions need to be eliminated, at all levels, as they work against the interests of the students and the public they are supposed to serve respectively.

The multi-billion dollar Democrat playgrounds like Freddie Mae and Fanny Mac enrich their supporters at our expense and do things the markets should be doing, not government.

In the end, its all about money, even the violent punks in the pictures had George Soros pay for their buses and motel rooms, etc. Take away the money and the changes will be profound.

The old Political Election Pendulum swung from Left (Carter) to Right (Reagan) to LEFT (Clinton) to right (Bush) to Hard LEFT (Ostupid) to HARD RIGHT (Trump).

HARDCORE RADICAL LEFT is next. I predict 15 years. What would HARDCORE RADICAL LEFT look like?

Think about that. What is the direct opposite of Freedom. Already we have college campuses that won't allow free speech unless it the speech they want to hear. Our future leaders are in law school, in undergraduate degree's, and starting college.

By the time Pence is our President, Patriotic Americans will be complacent. Donations to Right organizations and 2nd Amendment orgs have already dropped to nothing, because 'we don't need them' anymore.

The Patriots, Bill of Righter's, Conservatives, and Constitutionalist's will be targets, first. Then removed from society.

Comrades, in 19 years, Amerika will look a lot like California, New York, New Mexico, and Illinois.

I bet the 2nd Amendment March in Lansing, MI this year will be about half of the crowd when Oblamo was Presistupid. Next year, there won't be anymore 2nd amendment marches. Anywhere.

Here is what I do / Intend to do:

Be vigilant

Continue to write letters, phone calls, and emails when lib- vomit trys to create mayhem in any forum and to the businesses that supoort them.

Continue to pay my way, avoid (more) debt & use a budget

Vote for/against with my feet and my wallet

Donate money to the orgs that are important to me. Trump/RNC, NRA,

Continue on our established prep path which includes OPSEC

Continue to support and participate in shooting sports

First of all, don't allow the few absolutely most graphic and brutal photos selected by the major media to make money lead you over the cliff. Notice that they are freaking young kids who don't really have a grasp on much of anything but are doing what kids do in their late teens which is acting out and challenging authority they don't understand. They are in the minority but they know how to attract attention.

In 2016, when Trump won the presidency, preppers breathed a sigh of relief. We thought we saw a four year hiatus from gun grabbing and loss of civil liberties and time to plant fruit trees and expand the garden. I don’t think anyone foresaw the vitriol, the hatred and the growth of the left’s anti-conservative and anti-Republican behavior. Antifa and BLM and ultra-leftwing groups have attacked, disrupted and caused destruction and mayhem. Worldwide organizations like Facebook and google are implementing practices that diminish or even eliminate anything conservative. IMHO there appears to be a coordinated effort to minimalize and marginalize anything or anyone who have conservative values or have a moral compass.
Will this lead to a civil war? Maybe. It won’t be a repeat of our Blue/Gray war of the 1860s. It will be more like the Bosnian civil war. Assassinations and ethnic cleansings will be common. We have already seen the beginnings of this on the college campuses where conservatives have been shut out, forced to leave or have been fired. Or possibly actions reminiscent of Germany in the late 1920s and early 1930s. I don’t think it will last long or be widespread. Why? Because the left doesn’t have a large trained militant army. It doesn’t have a large following outside of the cities. It would have a hard time recruiting from the millennial population where it does have a large amount of support. And it is rapidly losing support among the general population.
Civil war is possible but more likely there will be civil unrest and a large amount of anarchy actions. It won’t be anything the military and law enforcement can’t handle BUT it they won’t be there when it starts and being prepared for those activities until they arrive can mean the difference between life and death.

Perfectly said! And this cuts to the heart of what I am asking in my original post. There seems to be a fixation of many preppers on something resembling the old Civil War of 1861-65. It will be a lot messier. The conflagration that I can (possibly foresee) happening would be much closer to what happened in the former country of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

It would be good for others to view some documentaries on Youtube about what happened in Yugoslavia. Rather than the common perception of "fronts" and armies, you instead had a situation of shifting alliances. Politicians on the make recruited "generals" and "armies of liberation", that annexed territories, expelled and murdered inhabitants, and engaged in propaganda---in collusion with the media-- to justify atrocities and assassinations. Random acts of terrorism were common, seemingly without any pattern or reason.

And that's what I see potentially happening today. There's a thread here on SB entitled "Why the Left Hates You", that discusses perfectly the EXTREME radicalization that has happened since the election.

And again my question is: how does one survive in a situation that resembles Bosnia in 1993?

In several states there is the beginning of a conservative response. State legislatures are passing laws the prohibit the discrimination against conservative speakers and beliefs guaranteeing that all have the right to speak freely and anywhere on campus. There are two articles on Fox news. " Growing number of states laws are passed or focusing or introduced focusing on campus free speech." By Elizabeth Llorente And. " GOP bill would give conservative firebrands more rights to speak on campus." By Caleb Parke

So things are turning a bit and the longer the "conservatives" (and I say that lightly, because are there really anymore conservative politicians?) are in office the more prevalent conservative ideals will spread through society. Unlike many parts of the world our political make up good or not allows the pendulum to swing back and forth between the right and left which is actually healthy for the country. If either ideal becomes to prevalent then we all suffer.
