For me it is not. Excess rails on the pump and side saddles are not necessary. The FG and bayonet is ridiculous as well. I also prefer to not have a pistol grip on my shotguns. If it works for that guy, Awesome.

 

i suppose the addition of a bayonet could be usefull.. maybe as a way to spear something.. or defend against agressive animals or something after ammo runs out..the side saddles arent a horrible idea either, however most of the ones ive seen have been plastic and fagile.. dunno that they would hold up to well.. all the rest.. seems like it would just add weight.. i dont much care for pistol grip stocks , but i am using one currently as its mostly hollow, yet sturdy.. i can remove the but pad and store one of those thermal blankets and a basic survival/firestarter kit in the stock..

yes, perhaps the best reason for fixed bayonet use to the survivalist.

 

Personally I am unimpressed with it. I would have put a knox adjustable length breaching stock on it. Side saddle, a surefire light m961 2 cell, maybe a heat shield and a ghost ring rear sight. If I was to use it as my primary weapon then a bayonet.

Same here. I like the Blackhawk Knoxx SpecOps stock b/c my small wifey can adjust it for her reach too. BTW, having a lot of accessories will weigh that puppy down...especially stuff towards the end of the barrel (think teeter totter).

 

I thought it was quite inventive and well executed - just not my cup of tea. I have pockets for most of the stuff hidden away on that shotgun. And to be honest - running off on foot into the night with only a shotgun isn't really how I've planned my bug out. I will have a Landy with tools designed for most scenarios within. My dodgy back and knees (bike accident) have dominated my plans for emergency bugouts.

 

Wait till they drop it or shoulder check a corner with it and the added twisting torque from the dork stick on the forend breaks or bends their action bars, putting the gun out of action until repaired. Dork sticks on pump shotguns are a terrible idea.

I'll never understand why tacti-cool is supposed to equal survival. But lately it seems to be the new fad.

 

I would suggest that someone is just doing a sales pitch. Seems you would do better if you just spent money on ammo and learned to shoot one properly.

 

Sorry, just too much tacticool in rolled into one package for my liking. I can stand a little bit here and there, but that shotgun is over the top.

What's perfect for one person is not perfect for another. To me, that is a tactical shotgun and good for urban assault or home protection. However, I guarantee that my Remington and Winchester can out shoot it at distances over 25 meters.

 

The best way to survive until the 72 hour mark is to fit a water bladder inside the stalk in order to have an immediate water source available on command. It would then be an all purpose survival shotgun surviving as a multi-function tool envied by all active preppers.

 

Looks clumsy, heavy and and nose heavy. Shotgun would be my primary weapon, if such was needed post-apocalypse. I value good balance, pointability and a steady swing in a shotgun. Unless you're planning on filming some Hollywood crap when the world ends, all those gizmos only make the gun worse.

 

I thought it was cool until I noticed it did not have a bottle opener on it.

 

I like the SRM 16 rounder but they're very proud of them. Hopefully it'll take off and with more production it'll bring the cost down a bit. I never thought I'd see a $2500. price range on a defense shotgun.

 

I would rather go Saiga 12 with a aimpoint and a 20 round drum

The Mossberg my ex gave me was ok, I think I'd go with an 870 now.

That looked like it was long and heavy. I think my bird barrel is shorter that the tacticool swiss army shotgun.

He should have been wearing matching bandoliers for max effect.

The dude built this contraption based on one thing; That this shotgun was the only thing he could get his hands on as he was bugging out, for whatever reason of buggout.
Based on that premise, it is a well thought out piece of "tacticool as it has been described. If this was the only item you could get your hands on then you would have a good chance of survival. If this piece of tacticool was in my possesion or someone on the team had it, I would be glad to have it along.

 

You'd be lucky to make it through all the ammo on and in that shotgun without tweaking your rails. Foregrip on a pump shotgun= massive fail.


I think I'll stick with my "classic" pistol grip, 18" barreled Mossy 500, thank you........

 

Not a fan of pistol grips or vertical fore grips on shotguns. Kinda long for a house gun, and heavy for a trailgun, otherwise......

 

These are more my flavor with the center one being preferred.
I don't really care for the forward grip, saddles, etc.
