I've got a Glock 23 and a Glock 35 for my back up and duty weapons respectively. I have an issued Glock 35 for SWAT. I clean every time I shoot them. I guess it's just the military that gave me that mind set. I'm kinda anal about all my weapons being clean with the exception of my 308. I'll clean my long gun then fire one round through it to foul the barrel for my next cold bore shot (I'm sure it is a useless exercise, but again the military taught me a lot of bad habits.)

I'm with Low_crawl on that one. I have a 17 and 21. Both get field stripped and cleaned even if I fire just one round through them. I'm not in law enforcement and don't carry but feel cleanliness is next to Godliness. My dad always taught me that it's the best way to maximize reliability for the next use.

While you can run a lot of rounds through a Glock before cleaning doesn't necessarily mean you should. I get lazy occasionally and skip cleaning, but I do prefer to keep my guns clean, because no one here knows when their weapon may need to be called into service, and when it happens I want to know that my weapon is ready.

My guns get abused.

Sometimes that means they only get a little oil and a quick chamber scrub during a multiple day class.

My carry guns? Get cleaned before I hit the road again.
One round or a thousand doesn't matter.

And not for the reliability issue, mine are proven do already, dirty or clean.
But the question of who shot in a shooting investigation needs to be addressed.
And if my gun is still clean, I obviously didn't shoot.

I too have been pretty anal due to my military habits I've developed over the past 24+years. However, I will do a "modified" quick clean if I have several pistols that were shot with less than a few 100 rounds. I'll just scrub out the barrel, wipe them down and apply a little lube; only takes about 2-3 minutes per pistol. I'll often pull them out when I get more time and do a deeper clean.

Actually breaking down the pistol and cleaning it also provides you a functions check to make sure there is nothing broken, worn down, cracked or otherwise not good for reliable functioning...
