If anyone knows specifically in their area, beyond AR's and AK's, ammo and magazines for them are there other firearms that are flying off the shelves? What's happening with pistols with 15, 16, and 17 round magazines, pump shotguns and 'tactical' scope equipped bolt action rifles.

Gunshow yesterday was insane. 400 people lined up outside and price gouging out the rear end. Didnt feel bad for the fools that paid that much. Ruger 10/22 promag 25 rd mags were going $45. Those are prone to jam, I just wonder how much bx25 or butler creeks are going for.

Everything is going here. No 9mm or 22 ammo at all.

People have lost thier minds....

Stay out of this, its not worth it, I got offered 4k for my DSA FAL today. People are crazy, best to stay away

How can you be on a prepper website and not already own what guns you need. Every new person here asks the AR/AK question. Who is left here who doesnt have thier crap together???

Pathetic, let the unwashed buy at 3x dealer cost. Im using this as a good evaluator for gun shops. Those gouging, hiding and holding back guns until prices peak, are in for a shock when word gets around about what thier attitudes are today.

Look what the same thing is doing to CTD

I love it

I heard pmags were going for up to $80 in local private sales. I was at the gunstore Saturday when it opened, Glock 19 mags were $60 and he said they might go up by the end of the day. The prices on AR's were $2,399...I'm not sure what the m1a's were listed at.

I went to the gunstore to pick up my Ruger Single Six, it was on layaway; but since MI governor signed the bill that says you don't need pistol purchase permits I was able to pick it up.

The only thing I want is a .22 lever action and a Ruger Blackhawk in .357/9mm convertable.

The difference between prepping in general and when there's a threatened ban without a sunset is huge. People have conflicting priorities and budgets.

I also believe that many who smugly think they're set aren't thinking really long-term, are juvenile or don't remember.

During the previous gun ban, those of us who still shot our weapons and took them out in the weather were finding our AR's, Mini 14's, and AK's were getting a little bit worn...most still serviceable, but they'd not last forever. The threatened AWB is FOREVER, without a sunset...I'd like my grandkids and their kids to be assured the rights and freedoms that our firearms defend.

You're prepped for FOREVER, including maintaining firearms to assure the freedoms of future generations? That's pretty darn incredible.

I think most of the smug folks are either not thinking really long-term, about our children and children's children's future, or else they're full of it...or they are non shooters. They're not considering the stagnation that can occur in the civilian firearms market as well.

I shot a Hi Power sloppy during the last AWB and wore an older Mini 14 enough that I wanted a new one (too frequent, too aggressive cleaning.) ten years of actually shooting these firearms in all weather conditions and heavy cleaning causes a lot of wear. There's a reason the AK and SKS I have now aren't the ones from before the AWB...I certainly didn't wear them out, but I sprung at the chance to get newer ones.

I personally am feeling vindicated for once. All my friends watching me stock up on 7.62x39 5.45x39 and 223 and laughing. two days ago I got a call from 3 of such friends saying "what are we going to do?? the **** is so expensive". I told them all the same thing. I dont know what you are going to do but I'm doing nothing. I wont list my collection on a forum but lets just say my grand children, if my son has any, will never want for any ar, ak 47, or ak 74 ammo or equipment.. unless of corse it goes down in a boating accident..

The stores around here seem out of everything EXCEPT shotgun shells. I might sell a few AR mags (The AK is my main combat SHTF rifle) and use the cash to buy more shotgun shells. My riot gun may, in the end, be my primary weapon

Should've stocked up during the lull. The real tragedy is how many bought firearms but don't have a safe as responsible firearm owners do? How many will get into the hands of criminals?

I don't have a safe...I have a whole walk-in closet for my "hobby."

I also have an alarm system that has a phone-intercom to a security agency.

IF someone breaks in while I'm gone, they have exactly 60 seconds to navigate my entire house and break into my locked walk-in closet. If they know exactly where it is in the house. If they don't know the magic word, cops will show up in about 5-10 minutes. (They LOVE to "rest" in the park parking lot that's about 30 seconds from my house)

IF someone breaks in while I'm home - I shoot them.

...never seen the need for a huge safe that weighs a ton. Just me.

Gun show in reno last weekend...prices on ar style rifles 1800.00- 2800.00 or so. ak all over a grand. 223/556 mostly sold out, guy said whole stack gone in 2 hrs. did have plenty 762x39 wolf for 217.00/1000. no 308 to speak of left. plenty ak mags for 20- 25 dollars. alot of bare looking shelves and tables (went sun afternoon). seemed to be alot of lever actions and cowboy guns left. also pistols and pistol ammo left.

special thank you to forum members who post...been coming here 2 yrs and seen this coming. dont need to enter they panic buying frey ..thank you sb!

I saw stripped stag lowers on GB for $350.00 The temptation to sell what I have acquired is only offset by the fear that I wont be able to replace what I would have sold. The mainstream media is beating the drum the most people are behind a ban now, only people who pay attention to prices over time are aware things are selling fast, getting scarce, and going up in price. I am in a position to sit this one out also.

When the first ASW ban went into effect High capacity mags went up in price. The ban said that all mags had to be made after the ban could only be so large but if you owned them before the ban went into effect then you were golden. so what did the Mag manufactures do they started mass producing and flooded the market and the price dropped back down. Don’t freak out just wait and things will go back to normal or near normal prices. I am just ****ed that now that I need to purchase a new patrol rifle there are none available. Guess I will keep big Bertha a little longer.

I just looked up on gun deals dot com for the 7.62x54r ammo and everyone has raised prices on ammo and shipping. $ 0.22 cents a round for 880 rounds shipped ...those evil black/brown wood furniture guns.

Kinda makes it hard to choose any platform for the entry level sportsman/woman.

223/5.56 cheapest round right now is $ 0.46 a round delivered for 1000 rounds.

This means that the 223/5.56 is is becoming expensive to shoot moreso than my 410 bore fun gun. I purchased 375 shells for $114.00 delivered

You make a good point.

We all know that obama was anti-gun. He was just waiting for the right time to push anti-gun legislation.

If you did not buy it in 2008, or 2011, why worry about it now?
I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally did not have the finances back in 2008 or 2011. In 2008 I was a college student with hardly enough money to eat and in 2011 I was looking for a full-time job. Should I have gotten a black rifle once I had a good job after he was re-elected? Yes, of course. But don't pretend all of us have had years/decades to buy.

Anyways, I've made my bed, so to speak, and will be waiting for normalcy to return.

Just Glad that I was in a position to: Buy it Cheap and Stack it Deep - over the years - and especially since late fall of 2008.

At this point, I have just been sitting back and watching, reading, and taking-in = the show....

FWIW - I do understand and feel bad for any members on here that were not in a financial position to have been able to do the same. I do hope that they can find some deals out there (now, and in the future - if possible).
