A Florida gun store operator has banned Muslims from his establishment, arguing that he has a right to deny service to anyone he considers a threat. Andy Hallinan made his decision after the shootings at military installations in Chattanooga, Tenn., last week.

Florida Gun Supply of Inverness, Fla., was declared a “Muslim-free zone” in a video Hallinan posted online over the weekend.

In response, President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice announced that it would launch a civil rights investigation into Hallinan’s establishment.

They do, however they cannot make that determination solely based on "religion". Had they not overtly stated that it was limited solely to muslims, they could have just refused service to any that showed up based on "some other criteria" like they were creepy (that can apply to anyone including muslims). They are probably going to be paying hefty fines.

Dictators often ruin people financially in the name of their totalitarian views.

What about the muslim baker who refused to bake a gay wedding cake for that comedian? The muslim didn't know he was a comedian. Why no civil rights investigation into that muslim?

People continue to be surprised that Obama is a dictator. I can't understand why they can't see it?

The crap is really going to hit the fan when Obama forces churches to accept all manner of things that are against their beliefs. Notice I say churches, and not mosques.

No source given.
From the last sentence of the same article:
But that is probably not the case — and the Obama Justice Department may actually feel pressure to intervene before the free market proves who really is on the wrong side of history.
Not HAS, not WILL - MAY.
Its the opinion of the author and pure speculation and in the case of most here, wishful thinking, nothing more.

In the case of the 2nd similar case and link
It sounds like she was upset because someone disagreed with her on social media or reported her account. Nowhere in that article did I read that the DOJ or Obama Administration planned to become involved in the dispute.
FYI Her FB page is still available to all and filled with near daily rants on Muslims and guns and it looks like her business is doing just fine too.

Regardless of what the White House thinks (or the dumbass courts for that matter) we all have freedom of association. This store owner has the right to not sell firearms to someone he does not want to. By the same token a smart Muslim would buy his guns elsewhere. If (more like when) this store owner is FORCED to sell guns to someone who declares to be a Muslim or has a Muslim sounding name all he has to do is jack up the price. Having to sell, and selling at a certain value, are two very different things.

Not according to the federal government. This is not limited to Obama either.

Same as above really.

You know better. We must always sell in Politically Correct ways or face persecution and/or retaliation. :juggle:

Yes I understood about being illegal discriminating. However private business should be handle by state law not federal side.

Lot businesses have a sign "We have a rights to not serve to anyone"

I still don't understand why federal wanted involve and interfere private business by POTUS?!?! Jesus... let state law handle not frocking federal side.

I felt like Obama is being "MOMMY MOMMY *CRYING* the business refused serve Muslim"

While I find the store owner foolish for making this stand openly and based solely on the idea of muslim...I understand his feelings and ire.
He should have said nothing and simply done as he saw fit with his own business. Now he will be probed and investigated until some other trumped up charge (like tax evasion) will see him shut down.
He opened himself up by stating muslims. How does he tell one of those from others? Yes, some dress (mandress?) The part. But I'm sure a more moderate (or pretending to be) muslim with a less Arabic sounding name could easily slip through the radar.
Sadly he will be hounded and destroyed because he dare to have an opinion and base his business practices on them.

There are more and more creeping into the city areas. Full dress (typically the women) and the dirty looks from them towards anyone NOT following their lifestyle.

Of course, I do not see them in the local gun store though.

The solution to worrying about recruiting offices being attacked is to arm them and put in some Lexan windows. Same as I would do to my house if I lived in a bad enough neighborhood.

As for the other, he can sell or NOT sell to anyone he wants BECAUSE he wants. It is a private establishment, and as a private business owner he can be as racist or bigoted or anti-whatever the **** he want to be. On the flip side, it is an over-reaction to a precieved threat. JUST like what Obama does every time there is a shooting of any kind.

On a side note, I know gays, blacks, hispanics, jews, and even muslims that want to kill ISIS. NO one I know likes them AT ALL. Not for any reason. If you want to bitch about Obama, bitch about him not going to war aganist an actual enemy, AND for training and arming them.

Being ****ed at ALL muslims because of these ISIS fools is like being ****ed at ALL Christians because of the Westborough Baptists. YOU are not all insane because of a few fools, but if Westborough ever came out armed, we would have had the decency to kill or imprison them ourselves, and never let it slip past our own borders. That is the only difference.

On a side side note, we could always send Westborough to Iraq to protest ISIS... Just saying I would chip in for the plane ticket...

On a side side side note, when ISIS tried to attack in Texas, they didn't last 5 seconds before they were gunned down. We have guns, we carry them, and we will not hesitate to use them. You don't see any mass shooting here, do you?

IDK... I was pretty ****ed at most of em when I returned from a 5 day op in Bosnia only to discover some of em had flown into US buildings. And I can't say I recall the name ISIS ever being mentioned. [emoji19]

During our ATF interview we were told that we have the right to refuse a sale to anyone we don't feel comfortable selling to, period. It doesn't matter if they pass the NCIS screening or not. If we feel at all the least bit uncomfortable then we should decline the sale. No reason needs to be stated other than we don't feel comfortable with the transfer. This even applies to a gun the customer may have bought online and had shipped to our store for transfer. By law the gun belongs to the FFL the second it is recorded in the bound book. We are under no obligation to transfer it or even return it to the shop that sent it to us for transfer. There is nothing the justice department can do about it. Obama himself could buy a gun online and have it shipped to us for transfer and if we didn't feel right about the transfer we could say sorry, no gun for you.

Person A may ask person B a question.
Person B may answer A honestly.
Legally, Person A may be legally forbidden to decide how to act based on Person B's answer.
Person B may choose not to answer the question, or answer another question in the progressive move-on model.
Person B may lie to A,unless he is a LEO.
Muslim B may lie to anyone in pursuit of unholy jihad, Indeed, he may lie to an Infidel, or a Less-fidel at will.
I guess it all depends on what the meaning of "is" is..........
