I've had my original Leatherman now for 15 years. A young buck saw it the other day and said, "Dang, that's OLD SCHOOL!" Yep, it is! I like Old School!

 

i still have my old leatherman thats about that old as well. sometimes the other ones are better,now it seems like everyone throws so much junk onto everything that it takes the simple aspect outta it.

 

Leatherman wave with a pocket clip has been my choice for 2 years.
Its not cheap but its like having a tool box clipped to your pants pocket.
I dont like belt sheaths or loose pocket carry so the wave and pocket clip accessory was my only choice.

Gerber suspension, I like it because its smaller than many of the other multi-tools out there.

Victorinox Spirit
Leatherman Charge Ti (although I still like/use my original Wave)
Leatherman Crunch

I like the Crunch for the vise grip feature, although I've been known to just carry a small pair of vice grips.

I prefer needle nose pliers. I like having a good file on them. I don't care much for the knife blade as I always have a folder in the pocket, but a it doesn't hurt to have a serrated or sheepsfoot blade for rough use.

Nothing wrong with any of the Leatherman series but I prefer my Gerber multi-tool. Since I bought my Gerber I haven't looked at any of the Leatherman tools in the last 15 years, I haven't needed to, so I don't really know what they have out now. On the Gerber tool the pliers are an out-the-front style so with a flick of the wrist I can have the pliers out and ready to go. I use the pliers the most so that was important to me. It also has a lanyard ring, IMO every tool I keep in my backpack or BOB needs a lanyard, or at least someplace to attach one. Mine has been going strong for at least 15 years and it lloks like it will go for at least another 15.

 

A Leatherman Micra is always on my keyring,My Surge gets carried a lot though it's a touch heavy ,My Sideclip is saved for work, the Crunch,Skeletool & original PST all get turns too

 

I bought my Leatherman Super Tool in 1998 when the Sears Hardware store on Tropicana and Pecos in Las Vegas closed. They were marking everything down 10% per day until it sold; I bought it at (IIRC) $39.95! I wear it on my belt everywhere except church, and sometimes there, too!

I too have one of the old Leatherman originals. It is basically retired now.
I got a Leatherman Super Tool 200 about 10 years ago. it gets used almost every day and it's taken some serious abuse but it's held up really well.
A few months ago I got a Leatherman Core which is the new model of the Supertool. Haven't used it much (it's more of a spare) but I do like the bladelock system a little better.
I have a couple Gerbers but I prefer the Leathermans. I have a hard time opening the blades on the Gerber

 

I'm a Gerber man, have the original multi tool and would love to have the 600 DET tool but I just can't bring myself to spend almost $100 on it.

 

I have several Gerber multi-tools, one of them old enough that it doesn't have a model number. The rest are the 600 series.
I have several other types, Leatherman, Gerber and Winchester and I always have at least one of them in a pocket at all times.

I carry everywhere a leatherman skeletool , If im loading up and going on a trip or anything that will keep me from home more than a day i take my leatherman wave, its the one w/ the 2 aaa mag light

 

Ditto on the skeletool, though I usually bring the crunch along, love the vice grips.

 

I love my Leatherman Charge TTi so much I brought a backup a little while ago.

Nutnfancy (that bloke on youtube) also likes the Leatherman Charge TTi (though he prefers the smaller juice for EDC).

Personally I dont mind the weight of the full sized multitool, so I take that.

I had a SOG multitool... not sure if it was the paratool since I only had it for about 3 minutes. I took it out of the package, opened it, held it as if I was using the pliers and the metal just shattered... like pot metal or something similar. I threw it back in the package and returned it. Last SOG product I will ever buy.

 

I own both Leatherman and Gerber multi tools and I prefer my Leatherman Wave over everything else that I own. I also carry a Leatherman Micra on my keyring. In addition to my multi tool I also carry a CRKT M16-13Z.

 

I have a leatherman micra right now but its a bit too small. The leatherman wave looks like my next purchase for EDC

 

I have the Leatherman original, Side-Clip and Wave (among a few other multi-tools). The Leatherman Wave wins hands down... It is my EDC with the optional pocketclip. I have used every tool on it multiple times, the pliers and non-serrated blade are used nearly every day.

Just like American Express and a Kel-Tec P-3AT, I never leave home without it.

I really like my Schrade Tough Tool. I've used letherman's and gerber's tools but they just dont fit my hands well. plus, they are less than $20.

I picked up a Leatherman Juice KF4 (lime yellow). Picked it up cheap at Costco a few years ago and later found out it'd been discontinued. Main gripe: no phillips. How can you make a multitool without a phillips? I guess that's why it was cheap at Costco.

Still very handy.
