After 17 years, I was 'laid off' today 20 minutes before the end of shift. My official separation date is 1/6/2025. Because it was 'less stressful' than being laid off in January...

HMMMM, If I would have know this was going to happen, I would not have done the training to the new guys that I did.

Just waiting for the **** to hit the fan and they ask me to come back......

Thank you.
I was a month off, I figured the end of January. **** happens.
I was told two years ago I would never get another raise, ever. I was just waiting. Mainly spite.
The office people went from 5 to 12, and several are joined at the hip.
The last 3 places the plant manager has been employed went belly up.
The new maintenance Manager is a master electrician. I got along with him, but he wasn't there for the 'dismissal' (he was off for his anniversary) I wired and engineered about 50% of the electrical panels in the shop.

Oh well, karma is a bitch

Walmart is desperate especially for maintenance guys.

I was laid off in 1997 right before Christmas. It does suck.

Well, the CEO is a self proclaimed socialist who NEEDS to be the smartest person in the room

I feel like a weight has been lifted off this old body

I got laid off from a company I had worked at for 23 years. They wanted to send me to BFE and I refused. It turns out it worked out for the better as the new place was pretty darn good and the old place went down the tubes, got rid of half their people and is renting out half their office space. The a-hole who got me "laid off" didn't last long either.
