The author talks of countries whose economies have gone through this, we are fast approaching #4 . . .

4) Finally ... The debts become so onerous and horrendous that panicky political leaders turn on their own people. They confiscate their wealth and destroy their freedoms."

I don't know about you, but I have a problem with this.

 

Good post and does not take a rocket to say we been sold out 100 time over.

 

It's been a long time coming and I don't know if it will happen or how bad it will be if it does happen. I remember sitting at work a little over three years ago now, listening to C-SPAN radio. A Congressman came on the show and said that people from the Bush Administration basically threatened Congressmen with a national declaration of martial law if they didn't vote for TARP, the first bailout. That's why I don't join in all of the Obama bashing that goes on around here, it's pointless. This trainwreck goes through administration after administration because the wealthy are running the show, the politicians lick their boots and kiss their rings to get in office and stay in office. All the American People are interested in is "bread and circuses" like "American Idol" and "Dancing With The Stars." Seemingly, on a mass scale, it's all the majority cares about.

 

This very scene at the gas stations is why I keep extra cash on hand. It will be necessary for the time in between the crash and when people gain a full understanding of what is going on. After that initial phase however, it will be worthless.

 

I am constantly thinking and watching around me. I had a guy at work, he shot a deer, legally, gave it to another guy at work. I see deer in back of pickup at work. I want piece of deer, I ask, guy gives me entire back and front legs of deer. Cleaned, skinned, I bring him in a Case pocketknife the next day as a "thank you."

People have to start thinking about how they are going to eat. I went into a friend's backyard today and watched a squirrel run along the galvanized pipe of the top of his chainlink fence. I thought, "Wow, a horizontal squirrel pole snare that they are already used to..."

I take notes of where the deer, squirrels and rabbits are in this suburban sprawl. I intend on surviving whatever the hell this morphs into and canned goods alone are not going to cut it and I sure as **** don't intend on eating out of the back of a National Guard vehicle, FTS.

 

I think I am safe to say that we already know that things are going from bad to worse. That's why we are preparing in case it does. Do you have any facts to back this up? Our government still has alot of income coming in, we still have an abundance of natural resources that we haven't even tapped, Last I heard the stock market was at 12000+, we still have the greatest military on the face of the planet, why would they revoke the constitutional rights of tax paying citizens? Like to have some expert answers to back up your claims.

What qualifies as an "expert" in your desire to have the reality rammed home to you? All of the things you state are basically true but all of that is also manipulated. Why would they revoke Constitutional rights of tax paying Citizens? Why have they already begun to usurp them? I don't understand, specifically, what you wish to have supplied to you in this discussion.

 

I've read all of the books Weiss has published. Also, I just finished sitting thru this l-o-n-g video.......and I'm still wondering what the "new information" was supposed to be. Everything he talks about has been previously reported many times thru other media sources.

Last (but not least)......I did make the mistake of subscribing to his money newsletter, last year. Not only did I NEVER receive those free publications, but I had a heckuva time getting my money back from these people after I figured out just how worthless his newletter is. I'm not the only one, who has been scammed by this outfit. I know other people, who have been clipped by them, too.

This is nothing but blatant fearmongering. My best advice: save your money AND your time.

I stopped watching the video about two minutes in. It appeared to be a rehash of the guy that hawked his video all spring and summer long with Alex Jones doing his voiceover, the "End of America" website and videos, the guy was from Baltimore City. If that isn't enough to give a shot glass full of gloom, nothing is. :

 

This whole collapse of the financial system is by design. This is my #1 reason for prepping.
Whats killing me, this is a slow-motion train wreck (by design) The NWO folks want to squeeze and drain every dollar from Europe and N America before they let it collaspe.
At this point. I just want a time frame for this. My thinking is late 2012/13. But the US could still be in the death grip till 2014/15 before it goes under.

Just give me a 6 month time frame of when it finale collapses!

I want to say something here. An economic collapse has been my greatest fear for the last five years. Granted five years ago the crisis was a pot of cold water compared to be volatile pressure cooker it is now.

I spent some time researching this video. I researched specifically the numbers and dates given. Spot on.

While we all prep on the site... hopefully. This would seem to me fair warning to turn it up a notch. I personally have been following the economic crisis as if it were my own personal crisis. I have preached to my friends and family the need to start prepping. This is the single biggest threat to our country faces and I believe as the report suggests, though it does try to sell something, that our country is closer to the brink of disaster that it has ever been.

Have to agree that we are facing a world wide potential economic collapse.

The people that sell you stuff will strive to do so using it as a impetus though they have hocked the same stuff in the past. I expect after a major depression is underway there will still be those that want to sell you 'the secret to riches, sex, irritable bowels, whiter teeth and that the depression is a conspiracy created by Ancient Astronauts to round up people into special camps for processing into ground round that you can avoid by buying my book now on special half off". It is what that type does.

But when certain factors are in alignment than certain outcomes are predictable. It took no genius to forecast the real estate bubble collapsing, or the Internet bubble, Savings and loan fiasco nor many other financial disasters. Unless some strange factor intervenes a financial collapse is going to happen.

What that all means after the fact, I haven't a clue.

 

To hit up on a comment from one of the post.......I live 70 air miles from new orleans and I never heard of any gun being confiscated. I had to drive through road blocks to deliver generators to gas plants, and my gun was in plain site on my seat and know questions were asked about it buy cop or national gaurds men

FYI - Not late to the parade, I've been on this subject for friggin ever trying to get to those not on board yet. I talk to everybody, and it's rewarding to see some people finally get it.

The only thing going to turn this sinking ship around is for the public to be woke up. I know most on this board understand what is going on with this government & the economy. BUT, for every one of us logged in to this site, there are hundreds viewing here who are not.

but the democrats had both houses back in 2006 thru 2010....there was at least one meeting back in March of 2008 among Congresscritters that foretold of the financial "collapse" in Sept....PREDICTED it almost precisely...it was pooh pahed by democrats...

so was it a planned event?....was it sponsored by Soros, who afterall, has collapsed other economies?....and as you all know, he is a big obama backer and all things democrat...

It takes a LOT to wake up the vast majority. Most will never want to hear of it. I didn't pay close attention until my own Father laid down his thoughts on the economy. My Dad is no fearmonger, so I took his opinion seriously and get up off my arse.

I have led a few horses to the water myself. It seems they don't care about dehydrating.

 

I need some tires on my 4wheeler....maybe some gators. The factory tires suck, and they're worn out from riding on the road.

 

I'd like to play devil's advocate for a moment. Let's say we are on the brink of economic collapse....don't you think those in power have extended families that they would like to protect from devolving chaos? This country is sitting on a treasure trove of oil and natural gas, both beneath our feet and just off our shores. Black gold is still black gold so long as the combustion engine is still a major force of our economy. You don't think in a bind our leaders would "open the spigots", literally...and let each state mimic the energy boom happening in North Dakota? (OK maybe not the current leaders, but near future ones).

Jobs out the wazoo, the world at our feet, and enough energy resources to pay off our debts multifold. OK, call me a Polyanna....

I CAN see them changing their policies overnight and now there is no grace period and folks are paying 40% interest.
In fact, the banks just made an attempt at that by imposing exorbitant fees. They gave up on that for now.

In that sense, it's already happening. We are being squeezed on all sides.
There is a thread here on property taxes. Lots of complaints on how taxes are going up despite property values declining.
I can't believe my food bill. I swear we're paying about 30% more than last year overall. Part of that is a kid going through puberty but that's not the only factor.
When gas first in $4 in '07 or '08 I remember the roads being empty. Those that were on the roads were driving like grandma in an attempt to conserve every last drop.
Now, we've come to accept gas prices between $3 - $4 as a fact of life.

I've said it before. We're being groomed for a 2nd world lifestyle. Our leaders look at the modest standard of living in Europe and pine for us to be the same.
2nd will lead to 3rd and it won't be long before shanty towns spring up all over.

I hate to say this, but IMO, that's the bright side of things.
I try to keep my tinfoil hat stored away with my old comic book collection, but it keeps haunting me.

It's hard to dispute the fact that money makes the world go 'round and those who control the money control the rest of us.
Sometimes I get this sickening feeling that it's all a bit more organized than we'd ever care to believe. And if that's the case, we, the people have a BIG problem on our hands.

You see, it's all well and good with the farmer if all of his cows are merrily producing milk for him. But what happens when the milk production falls off and he has a bunch of cows standing around eating a lot of expensive hay with nothing to show for it? The hamburger business starts to look mighty attractive.
Funny, the song I can't get out of my head lately is that old Burger King commercial "...two hundred million people, no two are quite the same..." That was about 35 years ago. We've increased our numbers by over 50% in that 35 years. Indeed the world population has followed the same course.

In the fall of 2008 we came within hours of ATM card machines being shut down. Banks were not making transactions between each other because they didn't trust other banks with their money, they were hoarding cash. Now, whose cash were they hoarding? Not theirs, ours.

When it hit the fan in the depression, people went to the bank to get their money but the bank doors were locked.

The ATM machine is the front door of today's bank.

How are we going to vote them out of power? We don't do it now.

Also, an economic crash of our system WILL shut things down. Then you'll have riots in all the cities. Just look at the occupy wall street clowns & multiply that by most everyone in every city. There will be looting on a scale never seen in this country. Martial law will be imposed. With martial law comes suspenssion of your rights, including voting. How are you going to get these career politicians out of power, the same ones who caused this disaster? PLUS, now they have free reign of you, the country, the military, everything. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

 

Right before the end, the big boys will squeeze us for every cent they can get out of us.

Some have jumped the gun (AZ with the traffic cams, Netflix and B of A with the aforementioned ATM fees). The rest... wait for it, when you see the price of food and gas double, grab what you can of what you need. In the blink of an eye it will seem like a bargain.

But drive carefully, 1,000$ parking tickets will be in force at about the same time.
