A place to share any sales or coupons for Long Term Storage Foods, including dehydrated, freeze-dried, MRE's, and other shelf-stable foods. I'd also love to hear what products "friends don't let friends buy" and all comments, food comparisons, and/or reviews are welcome. 🙂

I find their dehydrated fruits, veggies and soups very good. Always looking for the big sales. Thanks!

I purchased the bell peppers for $10/ea on Amazon and that was after I kicked myself for letting the sale expire when they were $8/ea. I tend to keep items in my cart (save for later area) and watch the prices go up and down and wait & wait. I have noticed that buying as a pre order, you can get items for a lot less but have to wait a couple extra weeks for fulfillment. Then you take the chance of getting a damaged can which is common, no damage to the box but the can will be destroyed, so you know the picker robot wasn't happy that day. My orange drink arrived crushed, so I opened to try, it's okay, funky after taste if you let it get too warm but nice and cold, it's good.

My only issue with this product (I own as well) is the shelf life. 5 years isn't the greatest considering mass produced peanut butter that contains a stabilizer would last close to 2, 2.5 years on the shelf. There are a couple other AUG items that have short shelf life as well, some 5yr, 10 yr... mainly the flours, etc. That's the problem I find with their bucket meals, some items have 25, 30 year shelf life but other contents are at 5 or 10. Even Mountain House has items with 2-3 year shelf life with annoyed me (ice cream bar) Just my two cents on this.

Before I purchased my dehydrator, I got a #10 can of this stuff to see if we liked them and could find uses for potato slices. They were quite good, so we got a dehydrator to make our own from the excess of what we grow.

We have many of the Augason products. A big fan, as what we've used/opened, most all we are happy with.
Have one dud, which what we were expecting, was something else. That was the Corn Muffin mix.

Now, no fault of the product, as I thought I was ordering corn meal. Wife mixed up some corn bread and the taste was....off. Way off. Odd taste, and too sweet. I looked the can over and (slap head) I had ordered the Muffin mix.
Now, if we make/made muffins, it might be ok. Dunno.
So, glad I only ordered 4 cans, not 12-16 like the other products I get from them.

WooleyBugger once mentioned he had ordered the red-green peppers, and was disappointed that there was hardly any taste. Thus, I haven't stocked the peppers as we raise and dry/freeze our own.

I watch the amazon and walmart site for the price drops. Lately, Walmart doesn't seem to be able to get stock in, as most is OOS.
I usually order in Augason every month.
Two 16' shelves, stacked 2 high, 2 deep. 240 cans on 2 shelves, and cans piling up on another shelf, which i need to move something 😬 , as I have more to put up, and more coming this month.

Yes. Happy Augason customer. But, I refuse to pay the third party sellers prices on Amazon and Walmart. No way is a can of Creamy Wheat mix worth $50.00 to me. I catch it when it's handled by A or W for $8.00

That's great to know. I have bought/used Ready Reserve for years and was pleased enough with what I got. But they haven't had any real stock for a while. Don't know what is up there.

Mostly, due to price, I buy/pack/use shorter term foods (5 years or less) but like to have a backup of LTS when It is a good deal.😀
