No, it shouldn't be stickied...it's outdated. You need to check your current state law.

Arkansas - 5-73-121. (a) A person who carries a knife as a
weapon, except when upon a journey or upon his own
premises, shall be punished as provided by section 5-73-
123(b).
(b) If a person carries a knife with a blade 3-1/2 inches
long or longer, this fact shall be prima facie proof that
the knife is carried as a weapon.

This was repealed 5 yrs ago in 2007, there is no knife length law or carry restrictions in AR anymore

Can't speak for other states, but if it's outdated for one, it's probably outdated for all.

I thought about that when I saw it was a PDF,
but it's good to know what you posted.
If there's an updated list, let's dig it up.

:)

There should be a new list every year.

And as soon as one is found, then we could replace/add it to the original post. :) IMO, definitely useful public information.

Of course, someone could take the time and go through all 50 states and Mexico & Canada and post them all.

Best might be to get someone from each state to research the relevant law as it is now, and post the findings and code section directly from the state site, not somewhere else.

I'd post Arkansas code, but it was repealed, and as such there are no relevant sections, except for the "use of a dangerous weapon" laws. Assault, robbery, and such.
Switchblades, pocket knives, and fixed blades of any length are allowed in Arkansas, if not expressly carried for the purpose of a weapon.

The law was repealed due to farmers, fisherman, and hunters.

Try :
Knife Laws Online -- you have to join to read all the laws but it's free.

Bernard Levine's site still has lots of good info so don't discount it because of the AR change missed.

Regardless of what you read online--unless it is from that state's or municipality's own site, CHECK FIRST!

National Organizations for Knife Rights:
AKTI - American Knife & Tool Institute
Knife Rights
Join either one or better still both.

Canadian Knife Laws:
Criminal Code of Canada -- Section lll applies when coupled with Canada Border Services Agency Memorandum D19-13-2
Mantis Knives --Poorly done but excellent links.
Knife Zone - Canadian dealer.

Actually these Wiki sites are quite good:
Worldwide -- including USA
Switchblade
Balisong

Slightly out of date date but it shows all the states at once:

WA State Supreme Court: Paring knives not protected by 2nd Amendment

http://komonews.com/news/local/state-supreme-court-paring-knives-not-protected-by-2nd-amendment

In a majority opinion written by Justice Charles Wiggins the court said small paring knives are not covered by the amendment guaranteeing the right to bear arms.

He called such knives a utility tool, not a weapon.

"While almost any common object may be used as a weapon, that does not necessarily mean that possession of otherwise innocuous objects that could be wielded with malice will trigger the constitutional protections afforded to 'arms'," Wiggins wrote.

The case stems from a traffic stop in which Wayne Anthony Evans was arrested after telling an officer he was carrying a knife after being asked if he had any weapons. He was convicted of unlawful use of weapons.
