We had a lot of yellow jackts a few years back. We made the same trap and used bacon to lure the bees in. They would eat the bacon and end up in the water and drown.

We had to empty the traps out 2 or 3 times a day they would get so full. They definately work.

I do not use them every year. I only use them when the amount of bees is dangerous to our selves. Bees are a vital part of the eco system.

But it is a wonder full way to get read of an excess of bees.

i hate the little basterds, but let them hang around to keep 2 legged basterds away from my house. theres a hornet nest under a van in my yard, and came home to see someone had tried to open the door....it was left open and nothing missing,LOL. bet the fool had to run pretty far to loose the swarm! i do have to spray them down to get the weeds knocked back tho. dont have a bee problem.

I heard a noisy Cicada bouncing on the ground last night, I looked over and a Japanese hornet had him and was stinging him multiple times. The Japanese Hornet stingers are not barbed, so they can keep on stinginig.

They kill bugs they chop them up and take pieces back to the nest.

I stomped on both bugs to put them out of my misery.
