the coydogs I'm familiar with have the hybrid vigor larger than their parents but retain the coyote coloring and coat they also have the coyote wariness and shamble...slink . these animals are heads up with a purpose, they have somewhere to be or are pursuing something, maybe a coyote.
Seems like it could go either way. Perhaps it's just that coydogs that look mostly like coyotes are more readily identifiable as such than coydogs that look mostly like dogs.
I wish I had a pic of a female coydog that I had 1 time. She was a half black chow and coyote. She had the look and body of a chow but she had those coyote eyes. Talk about make some people nervous when she looked at you.
One day for some odd reason she killed my cat that she had been buddies with since they were little. I happened to be looking out the kitchen window as I saw her walk along the driveway and my cat came up to her and was loving on her when all of a sudden she just grabbed her up and shook her to death and just casually walked off like nothing happened.
She was about to have a litter and i'm wondering if that might have made her go nutso for a second. That ticked me off and I shot her. She had been acting kind of weird for about a month or so and that was the last straw for me because my ex wouldn't do anything about it so I did.
Look like GSD's. Coyotes around here are usually either gray, or reddish-brown. I've never seen a black one. Also look a little heavier bodied, but that could just be a trick of fur.
Then again, science says black panthers don't exist, and I know several people who have seen them, sooo...
For years we had sightings of black panthers bear us. It turned out to be river otters, encountered one while mowing the pasture. At first glance it looked like a large cat but when it moved it ran like a weasel. Later found it's burrow under our bridge.
I've seen a few black coyotes...I imagine it's either an off color phase or there is some fog somewhere in their background somewhere....the coyotes I've seen that were black looked exactly like a coyote....exactly ..except they were black
They aren't the only varmint to learn how to use mass transit. 😠
