Is The Russia/Ukraine Conflict Scarier Then Covid?

Some people are saying that the Russia/Ukraine conflict is even scarier than Covid. Thoughts on the matter? Hopefully this will not become WWIII.

FWIW: here in Ohio, the mind numb FB users are already wringing their hands about "the new variant".
Oh yes, the TV war is not doing well at all so it's back to covid fear stories here in Oz. What's the name of that Ukrainian president, the comedian? John Cleese? I'm pretty sure he's vaxxed, and senile.

Kidding aside, the Ukraine/ Russia issue is more scary since you have a country with the will to fight the aggressors, and you have a tyrant (war criminal) leader sending his troops in to fight and not getting what he thinks he should get. I see Putin, (in his bad health state), making incredibly poor decisions ... including attacking with tactical nukes to "level the playing field", and going after NATO countries who he perceives as helping the Ukrainians.

lets just hope Ukraine doesn’t have the nukes from the pre-Chernobyl days….I bet they have a few that Russia doesn’t know about….and if pushed into a corner, Ukraine would possibly use them, setting off WWIII…

The Covid scamdemic was just that…ways to line Pharm pockets through fear. Sure, I think Covid is real, but question the mortality….really on par with the flu or common cold….

What Americans are being told about the Ukraine is not accurate to say the least. Americans are being sold a lot of garbage concerning Ukraine. I hate war and the suffering to woman and children and that is the reason why I am not happy with this war. It didn't have to happen but because someone needed another scape goat, it was planned. Who is responsible for higher gas prices: Putin is or so we are told!

I do not like the posture of Nato and the US against Russia. It is putting Russia in a position to over reacted to deescalate the situation. My fear is that when Russia over reacts that Nato and the US will then over react. Bad things will happen if that happens and no one backs down.

Covid is a plandemic. Around September or early October the New Variant is planned to hit. It could be late August as well but I doubt we see a crises surrounding Covid until then. When the new Variant hits, the .gov will use emergency powers to get mail in ballots for obvious reasons. We all know what that means! No Red tide will be hitting the shores here and the same ol profiteers and sellouts will remain in high places.

These a-holes in the media that are clinging to Covid are beating a dead horse
True. And they keep on beating it. I was at a large public gathering today full of politicians and politician wannabes. Not a single mask in sight. People are done with it and no amount of dead-horse beating is going to get it to spring to its feet.
I remember when S.S.D.D. was a saying.
Same S:poop: Different Day
SSDD.
My usual response when the latest 'scary' thing is unleased on us. Been there, done that, got the Tee shirt. They will either blow up the world or they won't. Not a damn thing I can do about it so I don't waste precious time worrying about things I can't control.

To me personally there is simply no comparison. With Covid 19 I could seriously be prepared and make personal choices to limit my families exposure. With Russia threatening a nuclear attack... there is NOTHING I can do to limit my families exposure short of having an amazing bunker setup and even that does not guarantee survival. I feel almost all of my preps could be wiped out or contaminated in an instant. It's a pretty helpless feeling and is causing me some restless nights. I've always planned on eventually having a bomb/fallout shelter... BUT was planning on building it at my final retirement home location which I am not at yet. Seriously considering building a fallout shelter in my current house but I know it will set me back at least 30k and will ruin my plans for the downstairs remodel. I hate Putin...

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is dismaying, but covid is more likely to kill my wife (who is immune-compromised; the common cold could kill her, and nearly did).

The media fearmongering about WW3 is just noise. Cranking the fear is how they sell more advertisements. You'd be best served taking it with a grain of salt.

wasn't worried about covid AT ALL, not even in the least... normal healthy people not trying to eat themselves to death had fairly limited risks with covid making it less of a danger than regular flu over here...

Russia/Ukraine doesn't worry me per say, cold as I am I don't care if we get a world war 3... I doubt it will be nuclear... but if we could get cleaned out at the top of certain countries then it's a benefit... I do hate the high prices but they were expected... they are also a reason why I long have planned/worked on becoming as independant as possible (food production, power production, power reduction etc etc.) if anyone wanted to attack my country, then they could either nuke us to extinction with like 12 nukes and get 90% of the population or they could outgun us and make our weak a@@ gubberment roll over on their backs like they did in WW2 in about 5-10 minutes so there wouldn't be much "shooting" nor bombing here and if we are ruled by socialist "male donkies" or some other country... well potato potato no?

Oh hell yeah, absolutely! Covid worried me when we heard people were dropping dead in China and they made it sound like The Stand was coming. But I still don't know a single person that died from it, never got it, got vaccinated, not much happened after that either.
WWIII scares the hell out of me. We have a target much closer than I would like, and are not really ready for a nuclear war. Put things in perspective. Covid killed much much less than even 1% of the population, even if you add the vaccine deaths in and those that died were mostly old and sick to start. WWIII is TEOTWAWKI. Billions are going to die most likely. Any pandemic you can survive if you isolate or wear full gear to go out. A nuclear war, well, you could survive but a lot of luck involved.
I don;t even see how those 2 can compare
This is THE worst thing that could happen short of a dinosaur destroying type of asteroid hit

The kraken is long overdue for a feast let him loose to dine at the buffet.

The new COVID variant, AKA the stealth variant, is reported to cause painful hangnails. With the Russia/Ukraine crisis, if a nuclear warhead lands ten feet from me I'll have no worries. I just hope the baseball season isn't interrupted anymore than it already has been.
