Extra clever can be as simple as better generals, better comms and better understanding of your enemy, that´s what happened to France in WWII.

That assumption is a mistake. When under threat, Persians display a siege mentality and band together to protect what they see as a unique culture and history.

Our supreme court nominees are raked over the coals by the opposition party and ALL the dirt comes out. Local judges? Who the heck knows what they are like until some scandal or other surfaces. I always vote to let go... I vote for new blood every election cycle for judges.
