Usually only $20-40.00 bucks. My debit card gets heavy use.

 

Unless I'm traveling any distance or headed to the flea market, I typically carry less than $20 on my person. However, I do keep ~$50 of loose change stashed in my GHB in the car.

 

Never more than $30.00 tucked away in my wallet for those spur of the moment cash purchases or those rare times when I leave my debit card at home and need gas.

 

I legitimately burn through a fair bit of cash during things like a cyclone. So I try to have a fair bit.

 

Average $100, I pay cash for everything, except bills like utilities, car loan, etc.

Two $50 bills tucked away for emergencies. You would be amazed how many problems can be solved with a fifty.

With all the recent hacks I am shocked that people still use Debit cards. If you won't use cash at least use a Credit card that has consumer safeguards. Pay it off each month to avoid interest.

 

I carry $100-$200 on me at all times. I keep $1,000 in the safe.

 

I never carry too much, I am usually traveling with a good gambler, or a stripper.

2k. Enough to buy diesel and cheeseburgers from anywhere in the lower 48 to oklahoma pulling any load. Also handy if I lose an injector or a tire out on the road. Can have it delivered and pay for it easy.

 

Things changed drastically for me when I got sick. Used to have $5k - $10k on me all the time (in various locations on my person) but now I am lucky to have $100. Still in various locations, though.

I don't carry much at all, unless I'm dealing with Pickers, flea market people, estate sales, etc. No reason to lose it, get robbed, etc.

 

I have a certain amount at the house for if I had to leave town, quickly and credit-cards would no longer be usable. Otherwise, I almost never have cash in my wallet.

 

A couple of hundred unless we are going shopping then more.

 

$5-10k that I save the withdrawl slips from my bank for.... Just in case.


Every so often I "swap" so I have a fresh withdrawl documentation.

Cop robs me I'll spend MORE than that money getting it back and trying to set it right. (although that "insurance" should make it unnecessary)

I've spent several thousand dollars at a wack, and you need cash to get the deals. Try to keep the lower minimum in cash as you never know what might happen.

A former SOTG sniper told me one time that the best survival kit was:
A pistol, a bottle of water, and $5k in cash.
There's something to be said for that.

 

I once broke a muggers arm over four bucks. Now I have the shotty beside me in the truck so anybody wants to try and take my cash is gonna have ta' earn it.

 

For emergency funds I keep 3 Franklins and 3 Grants in my ID holder (wallet). I usually hit the Versatel for $200 in twenties and keep them in the truck as I go through them.

The wallet stash is enough to fill my truck fuel tank, get hotel room, do some minor repairs and or feed us.

When traveling I stock up on twenties for general spending and it depends on the duration of our trip as too how much I will take.

Exactly. If you regularly carry $200+, you'll go on record for $20 or less. It's a stupid OPSEC question.

 

I am not a fan of using debit cards. A credit card paid off every payday carries much more protection while debit cards have lots of risk.

I prefer using cash, but I do use my debit card some too. I generally only keep about a hundred bucks on me, but I can put my hands on a couple grand or more in short order.

I have over three times my wife's annual salary stashed in case of a catastrophic event, and I'm working to save more. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer in May and died in September, and because of his financial planning, my Mom is doesn't have to worry about money. If something should happen to me, I don't want my wife worried about how she will make it financially.
