I've got a Leupold Mark 4 PR 4.5-14x40 Mil-Dot scope that's been gathering dust on a rifle for years now, and I'm thinking about selling it (the scope), and then mounting a Bushnell Elite 3200 that I have lying around un-used. The Leupold has a 30mm main tube, and Bushnell has a 1" main tube, and I'd like to keep using the Warne rings that are on the rifle (Tikka T3 .308) , and I'm thinking some simple adapters are the way to go (right?).
I did a quick search this morning, and found a few, but a lot of reviewers had fitting issues, having to do some grinding on the adapters.
Before flailing around any further on the interwebz,I thought I'd ask the collective for advice and info.
As always, any help is much appreciated.....

Common pill bottle plastic is the exact right size. Cut yourself two rings from one, slice a good slot down one side of each, and mount the scope. Trim the plastic once mounted and use a black Sharpie on the exposed edges. Maybe not as simple as you want to go but it works and it's cheaper and easier to use than a purpose-built plastic adapter that might or might not fit.

Thanks OS, I think I saw those same ones when I first started looking these things up, but I think it was a different listing on Amazon, because there were a bunch of negative reviews that aren't on this listing. It seems a lot of folks had issues with them fitting properly, and some had to cut material away, and that's when I posted asking for recommendations.
I'll check out the one's from OP and Brownells. :thumb:

I get mine made by a local anal compulsive machinist who is deep into benchrest shooting.

The Elite series used to be made by Bausch and Lomb. Bushnell bought the design and continued to make it to the same quality standards. They are very good scopes for the money and were in the $300 to $600+ range depending on power and objective size.

Thanks JDH, that's exactly right, which is why I've purchased several of them over the years.
These are NOT your cheap, blister-pack,Wal-mart Bushnell scopes. These are high-quality, Japanese-made optics, that have long been considered one of the very best bangs-for-the-bucks in rifle scopes. Do your homework before posting, boys. :D:
AND, as I stated already, the Leupold (and the rifle it's on) has been merely been gathering dust, for years, so I'd rather turn it into some useful cash, and replace it with another, more-than-capable scope that I also have just sitting in a box. If there's a downside here that I'm missing, please enlighten me, fellas.
(BTW, the Mark 4 can easily be found for $900,delivered, and newer, comparable versions of the Elite 3200's are now well over the $300-ish this one originally cost.)
