Due to failing health, I can no longer maintain my off grid homestead in northern Arizona.
Nice heavily treed (Junipers) remote 1.63 acres with 25x40 cabin.
Lots of privacy and quiet.
If you're serious, PM me for more info, pix, and details.

Ha! The market isn't anywhere near that high in that area. And while sales are picking up a bit, you can have something on the market for years before it's bought.

Water has to be either hauled from Ash Fork or you need a rainwater collection system. Water table is way too deep to drill a well for the average person.

Though the market's better now, four years ago we bought a 700 sf cabin with a 400 sf shop building on 20 acres for $36k.

Allow me to look it another way:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You've managed to successfully survive and enjoy your property through most of your life, and have almost finished/being successful.

Many people thought history have not had a win like that.

Before my health failed I was looking in your area as a possibility for an alternate site. Unfortunately just as I was poised to make really good money my service connected injuries worsened... So I know you are in quite the beautiful area.

You have my envy for all your successes. Me

Thanks for the kind words !!!

Many years ago, when I bought the land and started building, I did a thread about it (very pic heavy) on another site, and the ratings, reviews, and the comments I got were wonderful, supportive, envious, etc ....
So many people wished they were in my shoes at the time and could do what I was doing, some said I was crazy, and so on, all over the board.
It was heartwarming for all the responses I got and sure helped make the work and everything involved worthwhile.

Yep, I'm just shy of 40, and my property is definitely a labor (slow I go, but it adds up over time) of love.

I tell people (unmarried, no kids) that someone is gonna inherent an awesome homestead.

I intend on planting a fruit tree the year I die (there's a Greek or Roman saying about a guy who plants a tree he will never sit under I liked and will have to look up)

I for one would love to see the results of your labors if you would like to share pix/plans with us.

(I put in a 2 acre orchard spring 2019)

I have many pix of the house under construction, but none of it finished, as my health started to go downhill soon after I got it closed in, insulated and storage shelves built.
The house will need some work to finish the interior and hopefully finish the exterior according to my original plan.
Here is my favorite pic of all, back when my screwball cat was still younger and playful and she would photobomb all stages of work or just be goofy.
She passed just before halloween 2019 after sharing 14 wonderful years of life with me, when she passed, it took the wind out of my sails and my health changed for the worse.
I needed to share that ........

Sorry to hear about your health issues. For a couple years we used to pass through Ash Fork on our monthly trips between CA and our place in St Johns. We are permanently in St Johns as of a year and a half ago now and are LOVING it. We aren't off-grid but are pretty private as we are actually 10 miles outside of town.

Good luck to you.
