Hackers threaten to leak Ashley Madison's 37 million clients
https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/hacker...hackers-threaten-leak-ashley-madisons-37-million-clients-083855459--sector.html

The hackers, who call themselves The Impact Team, leaked snippets of the compromised data online and warned they would release customers' real names, profiles, nude photos, credit card details and "secret sexual fantasies" unless their demands were met, Krebs said.

Ashley Madison, which uses the slogan "Life is short. Have an affair", has been planning to raise up to $200 million through an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange.

:wow

(My cat just whispered in my ear that she believes the hackers were secretly hired by a secret cabal of divorce lawyers!)

I'm not sure I care one way or the other. I don't frequent such sites, but it might be interesting to know who does.... Or, maybe not.

As a general rule, I don't care what people do in their private lives. It's not my place to control or manipulate them.

We have a pervert and deviant potus in Blll Clintorus. His wife is a terminal incompetent liar who profits from association with her deviant husband. And about 50% of Americans, maybe more love both of them. Honesty, integrity, fidelity, morals, and competence no longer matter here in AmeriKa. Have a rainbow and sunshine filled day. :D:

Problem with such a large extortion scheme is there is no way that you can actually get payment once it becomes public knowledge. Because any form of payment is traceable and you will be arrested and prosecuted no matter what country you are in. Bit different if they simply used the hacked credit card information secretly until it became known. That they might have got away with.

As for users of this cheat on your spouse service. Did you really expect no consequences? Pretty stupid.

Just for clarification, although most of the registered users of "Ashley Madison" are married, it's not a requirement for membership. There are single, widowed, and divorced members.

And frankly, I don't care who knows I have/had an account there. Never made it a secret. If you joined there and didn't want to be found out a fake name would be advisable......

All that seems to be required for membership is a desire to break vows of marriage either directly or as a facilitator to those that do want to. There are regular dating sites for people that want to date normally and have some respect though I am sure there are plenty of cheating going on there as well.

I find no honor in such conduct as is the stated purpose of AM's site.

I've got nothing to hide.

Remember, though, most times someone has an idea. They may throttle it back and lock it away, but there's an idea.

Suddenly someone is a lot more interested in their grooming, and begins working later. Signs like that.

Adultery does not always = divorce.

It can be worked through and worked out. It is devastating and terrible but it can be survived, as long as the cheater is repentant and makes changes.

Sad but true, it's a lot more expensive to live on your own than it is to live together. Take the couple next door. 6 kids. They have a pretty good standard of living. But if they split, the stay at home Mom would have to work and put her kids in daycare. He would have to get a crappy truck instead of the one he has now. They would absolutely have to move out of the middle class apartment into crappy section 8 apartments.

I imagine a lot of conflicts are ended with a long thought as to how a life would change, for the worse, if you split. How it might be easier to just blow them off instead.

I don't do that, but some would.
