Do you have one? Do you like it? Why?

I have small hands. My 18 y/o daughter has even smaller hands. She is tiny at 5' 1/2".

What is your opinion?

I tried out several of the Glocks before I decided on the "middle" 19. I thought I could shoot the "baby Glocks" well enough but the 19 was comfortable for me. I have butcher's hands.

I really suggest going to a gun store and checking out what they have and just seeing how they feel to you. Maybe you'll find the Glock 26 is perfect and you couldn't hope for anything better. Or, you might find a LCP or a Walther or something else feels better.

More than anything else I think the feel of a gun is the most important thing. You'll pick up some and say "this is cool but just not for me" and you'll feel something else and immediately want it.

I have the 27 (same size as 26) which is a .40 cal, but I also have the Wolf 9mm barrel so it just about the same thing.

Even with small hands I would suggest that you get the finger extension that also gives you two more rounds in the magazine.

I also suggest you cut a piece of rubber bike innertube, turn it inside-out and mount it on the grip (make sure the magazine release is clear. This does almost nothing to fatten the grip but does improve the feel and grip.

I have a buddy who not only has smaller hands, he is missing part of a finger and he can handle it fine.

my main CCW is a Glock 19, but this past summer i broke down and bought a 26. I like it because it fits in the same holsters and I don't have to change my back up magazine.

Its nice but I only wear it when I want something a little smaller than the 19 without going to the Ruger LCP.

I think one of the best things you can have is a 19 with a 26 as a backup. or 23/27

As always I reccomend nite sites.

I won't bother saying much about the G26, because it's all been said by the above posters. But, I will say you won't likely hear anything bad about it. It's one of Glock's most popular handguns. You can't go wrong with a G26, or in a very slightly larger size the G19.

Had a G26, which has been replaced by a G27. Same size different caliber. Go with the G26, it is more convenient to shoot, for beginners. The .40 is snappy out of the subcompact.

Before deciding and buying go to a gun shop (with your daughter) and both of you check if you can get a proper grip. It also should be zero problem to put some rounds down range. With proper grip I mean without a magazine extension. Dual stack magazine grips are relatively wide, so with small hands it can be some kind of problem.

And regarding the grip extensions:

This defeats the advantage of the "baby Glock" (speaking of different possibilities to carry, which is not possible with larger frame pistols, unless you are King Kong or look like a bum wearing oversized baggie pants). Then you can go with a regular compact model.

And if you have to rely on your pinkie for getting a proper grip, then you are doing something wrong.

I've shot the G26 and it's a nice pistol, I'll probably get one at some point.
I would suggest looking at the G19 as a comparison, basically the same size as a G26 with a finger extension (which I would suggest).

If you are concerned about small hands and grip size, look at the 4th Generation Glocks and try one without a backstrap. It's the smallest Glock gets grip depth wise.

I have a G19, G26 and LCP. The G26 is my main carry gun, as the butt of the 19 sticks out a bit if I bend over or sit. Both Glocks have been total reliable and are great shooters... I trust them 100%. My LCP feels pretty crappy by comparison, it's cheaply made (pins keep backing out), have had jams on every range trip, and it's the most difficult to shoot accurately - I can't trust it.

I'm fine with the pinky curled under the mag. An extension would start sticking out on me again.

Get the Gen 4 if they have small hands, the grip is a bit smaller and mag release is bigger and easier to reach.

I have a G-27,and love it.As others have said,it is the same frame as the 26,just a different cal.(.40). It's a great gun, simple to use, simple to break down for cleaning. As others have said, try one out before buying. My brother has a G-23C. It is one step up in size from the 26/27,and has a ported barrel. It has less recoil than the 27.
Try'em out,you will find the one that fits you,and your needs.
Good luck.

PS,don't let anyone talk you into getting a little "girls" gun. Some people don't think females can shoot the same "big boy's toys" as the men do. I just taught my older sister to shoot several weeks ago. She had never shot any type of gun in her life, until then(she is around 60yoa). By the end of the day,she was shooting good groups with a G-17,9mm,Baretta 9mm,G-23C,.40cal.,and even my G-20,10mm. So,don't let anyone tell you that you can't shoot something. Try it yourself.

Got nothing but positive for Glocks. Got a 17 and a 26.
Both great guns.

However, for small hands, the double-stack magazine
creates a wider grip that you might have trouble wrapping
your mitts around. See if you can test fire one before
buying.

You might take a look at something with a single-stack
magazine instead, which will get you a thinner grip.
I don't own either one, but a Kahr PM9 or Ruger LC9 come
to mind as just a couple of examples.

Downside to the narrower grip is that the recoil bite will
be just a little sharper than with a wider grip.

I have the G26 and G17 and got to say that I love my G26! The G17 is more of a combat gun given the size and ammo capacity. The G26 obviously a CCW themed handgun. The pinky wont fit the gun unless you got tiny hands, the grip might be wider than you actually think (double stack mag), and it does take some practice to get used to shooting a gun that your whole hand does not full grip. I love mine and am nearly as accurate w/ it at 25-35 yards as I am w/ my G17! It shoots great, is very reliable, and conceals increadably well. If you get one you will have a transition period but won't regret the purchase.

Took the G19 for a spin earlier this afternoon.

Think I'm in love.
Bought this one used and the rear night sights were way over to the right.

Pounded them back to center with a plastic mallet and was hitting dead on today.

Finding it's more noticeable feeling on my hip (to me) where as the G26 w/ 10rd mag disappears.

Gonna pack it around for awhile and see how it feels.

I want one but it does nothing for my girlfriend with her small hands. In fact I could see no difference in length of trigger pull from my gen3 g17 to the gen4 g26. She just has short fingers and only get her very tips on the trigger which will just keep hampering her shooting. Any police types know how they teach some of the smaller female cops trigger control on glocks?

This is the best way I've found to teach female shooters how to rack the glock.
