Let use a little math here a ar-15 platform will allow a 223 to be a 22 LR with a bolt and Mazaine switch for $150 a 9mm upper is cheaper then that gun... so 3 guns for a tad more is what I would do..however I like the Taurus pt145 millenium pro...Dual tone of coarse. And a $150 bolt and mag for .22 LR would still leave money in my pocket..
Best part is,.. that is my decision to make... because this is America..

The gun snobs and mall ninjas are obvious. This gun hasnt even come out yet and people are bashing it. Granted the weight is a big turn off but other than that there isnt much that can be said until folks start putting our reviews of it. Reliability, durability, accuracy are all important and so far are unknowns with this particular gun. I think ill wait and see what this thing can do before I completely judge it.:thumb:

Let's see, you get better accuracy than a pistol, less recoil, quicker return-to-target, higher velocity/energy due to the longer barrel, less risk than a rifle round of traveling through walls and into other rooms, and the ability to carry a single type of ammo for both your pistol and rifle if you are on the move.

It seems to me that it would make a good home defense/close quarters weapon.

Looks like Taurus is going after the Beretta Storm market. I'm sure it will be priced much less than the Storms.

There is nothing wrong with a pistol caliber carbine IMO....you will get out to 100 yards with it..the only down side I see is that the mags are not compatible with their pistols...at least from the picture that I saw.

I'm not so sure that "Freakin Sweet" is how I would see it, but it does look like theres an inexpensive alternative to an MP5 coming to market. Hopefully it all works out.

Now, that Mech Tech stuff looks enterprising, especially in 10mm. That would be the ideal sub-gun IMO. Does anyone know if you can get hi-caps for Glocks in 10mm?

A local shop had an as-new .40 S&W Beretta carbine for $500, but I could not find a way to justify buying one. Dammit. :(

You really can't get much velocity with any pistol round, even in a carbine. Even a .223 kicks any pistol round's butt.

I thought about using 2400 or some other slow burning powder to take advantage of the long barrel, but I found out you really can't do that with a blow-back style weapon.

In the long run, my XDm .40 was far superior - it holds 17+1 rounds, and has all the other advantages of a pistol.

Still, I would not knock anyone who wants to get a pistol carbine! I bet they're a lot of fun.
