Howdy folks. I stumbled across this site while looking for info on 5 gallon buckets to set up a ceramic water filtration system. Looks like a good group of folks and I hope to learn from your collective knowledge.

About me...former USMC (a lifetime ago), into firearms and accessories, shooting, boating, and fishing. Me and the wife share those interests. I have a fairly large gun collection and supply of ammo, and just recently started laying in supplies of other other things like rice, beans, hand cranked LED lanterns and radio, etc.

Not sure why I have the sudden interest (or obsession) in survival gear, maybe it is all the earthquakes, tsunamis, and other events, but here I am. Not to mention NE Florida is waaaaaaay overdue for a major hurricane, so I feel it is best to be as prepared as possible. :thumb:

Wow thanks everyone. This place is a lot more active than most forums I have been a part of. How do you keep up????

And Oz, yes to the BOL....can get there by land or water. Fairly self sufficient, but need to stock up on some seeds. Don't re-load...yet. Once I have the collection/accessories where I want them that will be next. Practice? I try and get to the range at least once a month if not more. Have done done a BO drill, but that is probably not a bad idea.

LOL yeah I know.

Certified Glock Armorer eh? I might need to pick your brain sometime. I have a 2nd Gen 21 and just picked up a 30SF last year. Love 'em both, but that 21 is one accurate pistol. It will give my 1911 .38 Super a run for it's money. Never understood all the Glock haters....guess every brands has it's fans and non-fans.

Glocks are great and simple. W/O the magazine, it has 29 parts. One simple tool needed to take it down to the indv component level.

I own many other pistols and they all have their place, but the G 23 C is my concealed carry choice. I compete with both G23C and the G35( both 40 cal). I will be buying a G34 9mm shortly to save a little money on ammo.

For $35 you can join the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation and by 1 Glock per year at LEO/Mil pricing. http://www.gssfonline.com/

I think the daily fee is 18.00 or so. You don't get full access, just the standard pistol ranges (7 & 15 yard), and the main 50/100 yard rifle, which can get kinda crowded.

They have members only 50/100 yard range, a 200 yard range, and a general purpose range where you can shoot tactical pistol and steel plates. They also have a trap range if you like bustin' clays. If you go with a member you can access those areas.

Thanks neighbor. Our primary is about 60 miles south, secondary is about 120 miles south. First is my Sister's place, second is my Wife's sister's property. Both are on the St; Johns, so we can get there by boat if need be.

I am starting to look around for a decent piece of property that both us and another couple could turn into a good BOL.
