Is Dry Milk (powered milk) available in your area? None here.

Stocks are lower than normal here but, it is still around. I looked out of curiosity as I am following buying habits due to the virus.
I am already am stocked on LTS milk supplies.

Back to the original question...I usually shop at the commissary on post, and from what I've seen, it's still available. I don't buy any milk (or eggs either, for that matter) since we produce our own - chickens produce plenty of eggs, and have one goat still producing milk after 13 months, and another due to kid within the next couple of weeks, so more milk will DEFINITELY be forthcoming.

There is some, but low stock, in my local stores. I picked up a few, but as I have a good stock, I left it for others not so prepped.

I got more online, for 30 day delivery.

It is very heavy, but you're getting a water source with the milk.

Dry milk has gotten too expensive, and needs to be packed correctly to be LTS. I can use the Gossner for everyday use, so I'm not bothered by the one-year recommendation for shelf life. Dry and UHT are both useful.

Gossner tastes just like ordinary milk.

Edit: I ordered some cases on Mar 3, and just got the email that they shipped to store. 9 days onstead of 30.
Caution, a case of 12 quarts of milk in boxes is kinda heavy.

Just left Sams club in N-E Texas. They had store brand for $14. Makes 22 quarts. Low stock. Had to reach way in the back to get some. Only picked one up for cooking with. Really just checking the shelves for panic buying. Walmart was out of 10 lb bags of flour, rice and beans where low stock. TP was plentiful in small packs. Jumbo packs where real low. Never made it to the water isle, got side tracked.

Sams and Walmarts are completely out of powered milk in my hometown tonight. Sams had some last night, I picked up only one 22 qt bag. Wife said were low on somethings so we went to town. Im ashamed!!!! Im lacking some things. No TP, water, beans, rice or lysol, sanitizer, rubbing alcohol in the stores we stopped at. Sams is only selling 2 cases of water, TP and paper goods per card holder once every 24 hours.

Dry milk will be used in baking and/or recipes only. I doubt much will be drank outright as milk. Unless you are a baby.

I would think preppers should have plenty of that stocked up. I can understand doing a last minute top off for fresh consumables and toilet paper, but other long term stuff should have been secured 2 weeks ago. At this point I'm assuming all grocery stories will be wiped out by the end of this weekend as the masses awake. So if you need/want powered milk purchase it now. Don't want, go directly to the store now and get it.

Have a H seal tin for day to day usage but get brands stored in Mylar bags, and fill the tin as you go. The bags pack down tight in plastic trash cans.
40 kg gets me 6 months for my uses.
Consider long life milk and condensed milk for rations.

Toilet paper isn’t the priority people think it is. Their butts will be better informed with newspaper. One news paper goes a long way.
Relearning the ancient mystical art of snapping off clean would also help.

No dry milk at sams here in OKC. I just got back and took a lysol shower. No flour either and I was looking forward to some cake and fresh bread. We've got enough on hand for a couple of months, but after that I'm going to be grumpy.
No TP, paper towels, meats are few and overpriced, and I had to laugh as I walked by the chip aisle and saw the chips all gone along with the bean dips. College kids have hit the shelves.

You can order flour off of Amazon. I ordered a couple of 10 pound bags, just in case.

Did those meats go up in price recently? Once the Governor declares an emergency, raising prices more than 10% is illegal...unless they've changed the law.

We got some zucchini yesterday. Powered milk is sold out in all local stores. Paper products are sold out and so is water.

The town next to ours town two women arm arm locked together were trying to block other shoppers from buying the two pallets of water. I was told by an eye witness who watched it. The store manager had to stop them from blocking other shoppers from the water.

It is only going to get worse. Buy what you can when you can.

Been working around the property so far, but will be making a trip to the landfill later today. I didn't find powdered milk before the quarantine (I moved and can't find what I had), but I'll stop and see if I can find the real stuff on my way back home.

In my area of PA all the dried milk is gone - As soon as the "Stay at Home" order was issues for certain counties there was a run to the grocery stores. People actually realized this was a serious pandemic and not a mini vacation...

People also figured out you can use powdered coffee creamer in a pinch so that has also disappeared now.
