Do you answer the door?

Scenario for all to answer as I am conflicted on this.

After the SHTF, you are set up in your home or BOL and all is well. You've prepped for your group and are ready to ride it out as comfortable as possible.

You see several armed Military/Policeman heading your way, going door to door. They bang, knock on the doors and try peering into windows. They shoot their weapons in the air to scare all. You see your neighbor, who answers his door, dragged out of his house and all his preps are taken. They leave him. But they leave him with nothing.
You see another neighbor, who refused to answer his door, get his door shot down, dragged out of his house, beaten and they take everything he has. As they leave, they shoot him while saying "you should have answered and not put us through so much trouble".
You already know you do not have the same fire power and shooting it out will only get you killed.

What do you do? If they suspect no one is in the house, they leave w/o any effort. How do you keep your small children quiet? They will be scared once they hear the noise from the officers. How do you stop them from crying or screaming from fear? If they are heard by the officers, well...

Do you take your chances and answer the door? How do you prep for hysterical children?

Keep all of your preps well hidden in the home and in various caches in your area. If you must open the door they will not find a thing and be on their way. However, after seeing them slay an unarmed person, I would grab the video camera and get a little evidence to be used later while hunkering down as quiet as possible and let them pass on by. Now if they kick down my door after I've witnessed them murdering an unarmed person, then I would be justified in defending myself. I would be in fear of death and/or serious bodily harm and I doubt any juror would convict me otherwise, especially if I had my little piece of evidence to show in court.

how to keep kids from making noise thats an easy one you take off your shoe and then remove your sock stank and all then you shove it as nicly as possable into a childs mouth. what they made it to my door how the hell did that happen? nope no door answering going on here. do i fight back if they kick the door in,you bet your lead i would.

 Ok, sock in the mouth is one way to keep them quiet.
Has anyone trained their children in this? I'm not worried about adults. We can stay quiet w/ our guns pointed in hopes they don't bother with us.
I'm very worried about the child who will be with us. He screams & cries if he sees a spider. I can only imagine how he would act in a 'all hell breaks lose' situation.
So any ideas on how to keep 'em quiet, no whimpering at all, would be greatly appreciated. :thumb:
If they don't know we're there, hopefully they will move on down the road

if it would get to such a point ....

Firstly if they knocked and no answer and they left all is good. (my MOST wanted option)
Secondly if there is such a point .... the first thing they would encounter is an IED while kicking in the door an a IED while retreating to regroup. AK fire from front and flank ....

Wipe all survivors and bug out ASAP ...

Nasty scenerio ....

IED"S by the way are too ez to make .... I will not go into it but ..... After 2 tours .... Its scary what we as humans can do to each other and how simple and deadly we can make it. .... I pray it would never get to that

No kids...problem solved.
Don't live in a yuppie 1/4 acre to a lot subdivision...problem solved.
By the time they get this far out, there would be several families,no small kids here...not just one man & woman.

If they dragged my neighbors out of their house I couldn't see it. My nearest neighbor is almost 6 miles away. If I'm hearing gun shots and I know the S has HTF I'm out the back door until I know what's going on. I can see the thrid bend from my house and if I'm seeing army vehicles I'm definetly out the door and gone. I have my spot I'm going to for safety. No trails to it, no sign of it from the air or ground.
Bye, bye boys, enjoy the house. I'm outa here.

Children should be trained to do as you tell them. They can be trained and are very intelligent at even a young age.

In a case like you are describing of house to house searches, you should of been gone long before this. In a bad guy / gestapo military sweep, they don't care about lawful proceedings and etc. They will search every home regardless of whether your place appears to contain residents. They will be thorough and ruthless. If they even think you have looked at them wrong, you're dead. What they see and want, they will take: property or people.

I would have good caches squirrled away and well hidden. mostly likely they will move fast and not search long. Mainly tear up your place. More likly just neighborehood thugs. i would empty the covers and make it look like someone beat then to the punch. Let them come in tear up a little. Regroup with your neighbors which by that time will have open their eyes now and do what they are doing in Iraq and Afgahan. Hate to say it but more than likely it will be part of that civil army and not the real military which has been over there handling this for a long time. Well, just use theri tricks on them. Thanks for the training Uncle Sam :)

Sounds to me like you and your neighbors have them surrounded. You open fire BEFORE they get to your house. Preferably when they are heading down the road on the way. (if their intentions are known). The people doing the search and seizure, are looking out for their family, and value their job more than their elegance to their country or constitution. If there is armed resistance, their loyalty to that job may change. Defections will be common. Applications for his job will drop sharply as well.

we do have childeren stay with us on occassions and given the senerio they and my wife along with several rifles, shotguns, and pistols are going to the saferoom, like i said in other posts frist jackbooted thug to boot the door in will be met by a 400gr solid from my winchester 70 in 458 win mag body armour is optional, next will be a volley of fire between high powered rifles and .223's i will take down as many as i can before they put my american ass in a FEMA camp, hell i even resort to muzzleloading before i give up.

Given the scenario you provided this is the time to fight.
I suppose if, like some others said, you have hidden everything well that you can hide and then come back too.
I think about myself and I think I would answer the door for them with bullets in their bodies before they drag me out and shoot me or make me a slave later on or even worse.

What we need here is a plan.

These "What If" posts are good as food for thought. By the time the Pseudo Military starts looting, The word should have already be front page news. Hopefully folks will have already stashed their goods in multiple locations. You should have a few "Items" just in case you have to make it look good. These kinds of thieves are happier if they leave with "something".
Now, and I hate to say it, if one is caught with their pants down, I think we are obligated to take out as many as possible. I am not saying die in place, if one can escape. It is always better to wait and attack from a position of power. If you can't run, well...
P.S. I am USAF RET. Real solders do not act this way. Anyone who does is a looter plain and simple. Hopefully some of the "Real Solders" will give guys like this a permanent demotion! Sadly some of our troops did Loot during Katrina. Man am I glad I wasn't there. It would have cost me my job!
